Nathan’s POV
“We’ve already dispatched people,” Collins said quickly. “The mont we locate her, we’ll secure Luna Aria with every resource we have.”
To , that was not enough.
My heart was pounding too fast, blood roaring in my ears. The images replayed in my mind...Aria running, surrounded, hunted. The thought of her fear sent a violent shiver through , my wolf slamming against my ribs, demanding release.
A sudden knock broke through my thoughts.
“Knock, knock—”
Collins glanced at . I rubbed my temples, forcing my breathing to slow, and gave a short nod. “Open it.”
The door swung open, and Sophia rushed in.
“Nathan...”
Her voice was trembling, her face drawn with distress. Today, my patience was razor-thin. I lifted my gaze to her, letting just enough of my cold authority surface.
She stiffened under it.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, my tone clipped.
Sophia bit her lip, clearly intimidated, but she pressed on. “It’s about my sister...”
That single word snapped my attention fully into place.
“Aria?” I said sharply. “What is it?”
For a fleeting mont, sothing dark flickered across Sophia’s eyes but she lowered her head, wringing her hands.
“My sister has been in contact with a judge,” she said. “Because of her, Lucious lost his case. Now he’s threatening ...”
Tears shimred in her eyes as she looked up at . “Nathan, I’m scared.”
I frowned. Lucious. A cowardly snake of a man. Threats were well within his nature.
My wolf huffed, unimpressed. This wasn’t fear born of instinct, it was inconvenience, desperation seeking shelter under my shadow.
Still, I didn’t dismiss her outright.
“What do you want to do?” I asked coolly. “How exactly do you want my help?”
Sophia’s eyes lit up. Caution bled into her voice as she spoke.
“Nathan, since it’s my sister we’re dealing with, I don’t want to put you in an awkward position.”
I lifted my head and looked at her fully, letting my gaze settle on her face. I didn’t rush her. I didn’t interrupt. I simply waited.
My wolf stirred beneath my skin, patient but alert, watching her the way a predator watches the slightest movent in the dark. Sophia clenched her fists, drawing in a breath, summoning courage the way she always did.
“I want the Hemsworth Group to make a statent,” she said at last. “Lucious won’t back down so easily.”
I understood imdiately.
She wasn’t asking for blood. She wasn’t asking to bare fangs or tear into territory that wasn’t mine. She just needed dominance displayed, power made visible. A warning howl carried across the lines Lucious thought he could cross.
It was simple.
Sophia was still part of the Hemsworth Group. All it took was a word from , and the ssage would be sent.
I turned slightly and raised a hand.
“Collins,” I said.
He straightened instantly, the way a beta does when an Alpha speaks.
“You handle it.”
Collins nodded once, sharp and efficient, already moving. Sophia’s shoulders loosened the second the decision was made, relief washing through her scent like a calming tide.
“You can go”, I said, dismissing her, wanting to be left alone. I watched Sophia leave. My wolf remained alert and worried about Aria.
Aria’s POV
Alia was by her window, scanning the environnt.
I was already heading for the door when she suddenly spoke behind .
“Wait.”
I turned back, confused. Alia stood still, her expression uncharacteristically grim as she stared downstairs. The tension rolling off her made my spine stiffen.
I’d already scanned the area using real-ti location data. Earlier, the reporters and gawkers had been forcefully dispersed. That was the only reason I’d felt safe enough to leave.
Alia never acted without reason.
I went to her. Following her gaze, I narrowed my eyes and focused. A cluster of n surrounded a glaringly bright pink Ferrari that just arrived and stopped in front of her building, their black clothing blending together like shadows. One man stood at the center, tall and cold, his posture aggressive.
With a single sharp command, the group scattered, fanning out with purpose.
My wolf bristled.
That wasn’t random movent. That was a search.
“Are they looking for you?” Alia asked, glancing at .
“I don’t know them,” I answered honestly, shaking my head.
“If you’re uneasy, you can stay,” Alia said lightly, already turning back to her room. “I’ve got work.”
I hesitated only a second before nodding.
A while later, I was curled on the couch, sketching absently, my mind half elsewhere. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin, refusing to settle.
Then a sharp knock jolted upright.
Bang. Bang.
Every hair on my body stood on end.
My heart slamd hard against my ribs as I instantly thought of the n outside. I moved silently toward the door, careful and controlled.
Peering through the peephole, I froze.
