Aria’s POV

"Hello, is this Lana’s parent?" a crisp, formal voice asked.

Instantly, my muscles tensed. Who is thaf, and why does he know our daughter’s na? My wolf growled within .

I needed answers to those questions as well.

"Who is this?" I asked cautiously, glancing toward the crib where Lana had begun to fuss.

"Don’t worry, there’s no need to be alard," the voice said with a calm and professional tone. My instincts scread louder.

"I’m Collins Rogers, personal assistant to Alpha Nathan Hemsworth, the primary investor of Hemsworth Group Private Hospital. We found your contact information in our registration system."

For a heartbeat, my world stilled.

Nathan’s beta, Collins.

My pulse thundered in my ears. I almost regretted picking up.

"What do you want?" I said finally, forcing my voice lower and rougher, until it carried the faint rumble of my wolf beneath it.

There was a pause, then Collins spoke again, this ti more carefully. "We’re very sorry about what happened yesterday and wanted to check on your child’s condition."

I let out a humorless laugh. Sorry? The word tasted bitter on my tongue.

"Oh, that’s rich," I said coldly. "If we hadn’t wasted ti at your hospital, my daughter wouldn’t have had her treatnt delayed."

I didn’t even know what ca over , one mont I was clutching the phone, breathing through the pounding of the rain, and the next, venom spilled from my tongue before I could stop it.

"You people think you can do whatever you want because of your boss’s na," I snapped, my voice sharp enough to cut glass. "Not everyone bows when he walks in, Collins."

The words ca out harsher than I intended, laced with the low rumble of my wolf beneath my tone.

For a few seconds, there was only silence on the other end.

"Ma’am, we’re truly sorry," Collins stamred at last, his voice careful, like he was walking through a minefield. "We’re willing to offer appropriate compensation."

"Don’t need it!" I cut him off. The rain lashed harder against the window, as if echoing my fury.

I gripped my phone tighter, my pulse thundering in my ears. "Just don’t use Alpha Nathan’s power to bully ordinary people anymore," I bit out. "Regular people’s lives matter too!"

"If there’s nothing else," I said, forcing my voice steady, "I’m hanging up."

Nathan’s POV

My patience had its limits and Aria was testing every damn one of them.

I drumd my claws against the mahogany desk. The faint scrape filled the silence.

"Tonight," I said, my voice low and final. "I want to see Aria at Hemsworth Villa."

Collins stiffened imdiately.

He hesitated. "Alpha Nathan... I already sent people to check Shevron Estates." His tone faltered, cautious. "The property manager said that since Mrs. Hemsworth’s bank card was frozen, she couldn’t pay rent and was evicted a while ago."

Collins said, his voice soft. "Alpha Nathan, we found out that Mrs. Hemsworth opened a new bank account. She drops small deposits at regular intervals."

That caught my attention. I lifted my gaze, my eyes narrowing.

"She doesn’t have family or friends here," he continued, words tumbling out faster. "We’re not sure how she’s getting by, but... if we freeze this account too, she’ll probably have no choice but to co back."

The silence between us stretched, heavy and dangerous. Even my wolf went quiet, waiting.

Then I said the two words that sealed it. "Do it."

Collins nodded quickly, relief and fear mingling in his scent, and hurried out the door.

When it clicked shut, the office felt too still.

I leaned back in my chair.

She was out there. Sowhere.

With a low growl, I stood and walked to the window, the skyline gleaming cold and indifferent beneath . From up here, the city pulsed with cars and people moving like ants, insignificant and unbothered.

I clenched my fists until my knuckles cracked.

My wolf stirred again, his instincts prickling. You should find her. She’s ours.

I shut him out, my teeth gritting.

Did she really think she could disappear, vanish from my world like so stray? Walk away as if our relationship didn’t matter?

Maybe she thought I’d let her go out of guilt. Maybe she thought my silence ant weakness.

But she forgot what kind of man she was dealing with.

I stared into the city’s depths, my reflection rging with the glass, my wolf’s eyes faintly glowing in the dark.
