Emily stood in front of the Double Moon Tree Pack House of Minsk with happiness. It was her first day at work and she never anticipated that she would ever be employed in such an extravagant resting den.

Her wolf stirred beneath her skin, pacing with restless excitent. Is this real? Am I truly standing here? She had imagined this mont countless tis, yet it still felt like a dream she might wake up from.

Double Moon is one of the best and most expensive resting den in Vitebsk. It is a resting den where all the High Profile Wolves, Pack Councilors across the packland relax when they are burdened with problems from their territories. It has the most perfect view ever and the sights are therapeutic.

She inhaled deeply, letting the faint scent of pine, polished wood, and distant sea breeze fill her lungs. Even the air here feels rich... No wonder only the most powerful wolves co here to ease their burdens.

Wolves who were privileged to secure a job in Double Moon never stop recounting things they gained from the Pack Councilors, High profile wolves after rendering good services to them. Luckily, Emily was going to work as a chamber attendant, which is often seen as the best position. She adjusted her uniform to make sure she looked perfect and began to go in.

"This is my chance... I can’t ss this up. Not today. Not ever."

She walked into the grand foyer and proceeded to the reception hall. A receptionist pointed at the employee’s sign-in book that was on the desk before her. She quickly wrote her na, cast a glance at her wristwatch to check the ti, and put down the accurate ti as well. She was about to go to her departnt where work would be shared when she heard a voice behind her.

"Everything must be perfect... even the way I write my na. First impressions matter here." She murmured to herself.

"Emily Hale!"

She turned, and it was the Beta in charge of the chamber services. He was also the person that interviewed her last few moons and gave her the appointnt letter to resu on Monday.

Her heartbeat quickened. Already? Did I do sothing wrong? No... stay calm, Emily.

"Moonrise, Beta," she curtsied a little with her head tilted a bit.

Respect first. Always respect. That was the first rule she had morized.

"Co with !" His deep baritone voice echoed in the quiet reception hall. She turned and followed him to the elevator. He entered and urged her to do the sa. She entered too and the elevator began to move skyward. They got off at the tenth level and began to walk down a long hallway that led to his duty chamber.

Each step felt heavier than the last. Why do I feel like my entire fate is about to be decided in this walk?

"Sit," he pointed at the visitor’s chair as he opened his window blinds for more ventilation. Emily adjusted her tight skirt and sat down.

Don’t fidget... don’t look nervous... act like you belong here.

"How are you, Emily?" He asked with a moonally tone.

"I’m fine."

Even though her wolf feels like it might leap out of her chest.

"Good! I listed the things you should focus on after your interview; do you rember?" He asked.

"Of course; I rember everything you told ."

Every single word... she repeated them to herself like a sacred chant.

"When you get to your departnt, introduce yourself to your teammates. This is to be on the sa page with them from the get-go. They are the ones that will keep putting you through until you know your way around here. I am a strict tikeeper. I don’t joke with my ti. If you want to be on my good list, you must get your work done and at a specified ti too.

The chamber service departnt has been setting the pace others follow in this establishnt. Thanks to my wonderful team. The alpha is very proud of us.

However, we encountered a problem last moon-fall that may affect our reviews from custors. A very high-profile fang regent from another territory - the kingdom of Santorini to be precise, lodged here on Saturday. He complained about the attitude of a chamber attendant that was in charge of his chamber. He said she was very rude and he didn’t want to see her anywhere around his resting chamber. I promised him that I would assign a good chamber attendant to his chamber.

Today is your first day at work and I know you are filled with enthusiasm to create a wonderful impression. I want you to start from his chamber. You are going to be his only chamber attendant until he checks out. This ans there won’t be a shift but there will be huge compensation for you.

Please, do your job very well. I don’t want any complaints from him or you. We will be calling him from ti to ti to enquire about services rendered to him. This is to make sure he leaves a good review before he leaves. Did you understand?"

Her wolf froze. First day... and already assigned to a high-profile Alpha? Moon Goddess, this is either a blessing... or a test.

"Yes, Beta."

I cannot fail. I will not fail.

"Good! He is in Chamber 609."

"Alright, Beta," she said and stood up.

Chamber 609... rember that. This is where it begins.

She went straight to the departnt to introduce herself before her teammates left for their moonrise routine. They guided her and also told her where to find chamber 609. She rushed down to the laundry and got all the materials she needed and headed to the elevator.

"Everyone seems experienced... confident. I have to catch up quickly."

She sent a notification to the guest in the chamber that she wanted to co in, but he ignored her notification. She sent the second notification, but the sa thing happened. She took out the key that was in her apron and opened the door.

"Why is he ignoring? Did I do sothing wrong already? No... follow protocol."

Wicked eyes flashed at her as soon as she walked into the chamber and she shuddered and almost fell.

That aura... so heavy. This Alpha... he’s dangerous.

"M...moonrise, Bet... Alpha...Beta," she stamred, not knowing how to address him but he ignored her too. She waited for his response with her head still bowed, but it seed he was not ready to respond.

"Did I say it wrong? Why won’t he answer?"

He turned and continued staring at the waves through the floor-to-ceiling window that was in the chamber. Emily ignored him too and got down to work imdiately.

"Focus on your duty. That’s why you’re here," she said to herself.

She quickly removed the used bedsheet and replaced it with a brand new one. She was cleaning the whole chamber when she discovered they left their dinner untouched. She looked at a little he-wolf that sat in a corner and kept staring into space and had sympathy for him. He looked so unhappy and his eyes looked puffy as though he didn’t sleep last moon-fall. She quickly dropped her cleaning materials and began to walk towards him.

"Why does his scent feel... so sad? Even my wolf is whining."

"What is it?" The father who was standing behind the window asked angrily.

"Please, can I talk to him?" She asked.

I shouldn’t interfere... but I can’t ignore him."

"He doesn’t talk," he said nonchalantly.

"Oh...I’m sorry."

That explains the silence...

"Don’t be, he is not dumb. The death of his mother left him stunned."

"Oh...my moon goddess!! She scread and beca emotional imdiately.

Her chest tightened painfully. A pup without his mother... no wonder his wolf is withdrawn.

"I have done everything possible but he still won’t talk to anyone. The only thing he does is follow everywhere I go. He follows even to the bathchamber," he said with his eyes on the blue sea that was before him.

"How many winters is he?"

"He is five winters old"

So young... too young to understand loss.

She stared at the innocent wolf with pity and began to walk towards him again. She squatted before him and tilted her head playfully, but he refused to look at her.

"Hi," Emily smiled and waved at him, but he ignored her.

Co on... just one look...

"What is his na?" She turned and asked his father.

"Kenneth," he replied.

"Hi, Ken; I am Emily," she grinned and tried to hold his hands. He quickly hid his hands behind his back and frowned at Emily.

Ah... too fast. I scared him.

"I’m sorry, I...won’t try it again," she said and stood up to avoid making the matter worse.

Patience, Emily. Healing takes ti.

She cleaned their chamber and bathchamber very well and picked up her cleaning materials to leave.

"What’s your na?" Ken’s father asked without looking at her.

"I am Emily Hale."

"Thank you Emily for giving him attention. I really appreciate your effort. She smiled and nodded.

"I’m Ashley Ashford. I like your service," he said, and she smiled. She made her first impression and the Alpha would be happy to hear that. She didn’t try to talk to his pup because she wanted to create a wonderful impression, but she was compassionate. She walked happily towards the door. His little pup turned and fixed his gaze on her. However, he frowned and looked away again when she waved at him.

He looked... even if just for a mont. That’s a start.

"I must make him talk," she whispered to herself as she headed towards the laundry. She dropped her cleaning materials and the used bedsheets and joined her teammates in the departnt hall.

The Beta was addressing them when she ca in. She stood behind the workers and listened to the new instructions.

"Emily Hale!" He called out when he finished talking.

"Beta," she responded with a slight bow.

Please let this be good news...

"I called the guest a few minutes ago and he was quite impressed. I’m impressed too. You made a wonderful impression today. Keep it up."

"Thank you, Beta," she grinned and vowed to make another wonderful impression the next

day.
