The ferret-faced Guard Captain gave them a few cold threats after sending them here and then left, which made Frey grind her teeth in anger.
But Brand was unhurried.
He sat alone in the dark, observing the small space through the faint light of a distant torch—this should be the second floor of the dungeon beneath the barracks.
There were thirty-two cells on this floor, with four prison guards, all Light Infantry from the 104th Swordsn of the White Mane Legion.
Who hasn’t had a red na PK while playing gas before?
Ridenburg’s dungeon wasn’t new to him; he’d been here before.
In the eyes of NPCs, players were a lawless bunch.
Thinking of this, Brand couldn’t help but chuckle.
He took out a Black Ebony Stone Statue from his bosom and gently stroked it.
The crack on it was now almost imperceptible.
Then he turned his head and asked the dark opposite side, “Frey, Romantic, how are you guys holding up?”
“Brand, how long will we be kept here?” The voice of Miss rchant ca from the other side, tinged with a bit of anxiety.
Brand thought to himself, so you do get scared sotis.
The two girls were locked in another cell on the opposite side.
Although it was a bit dark, at least they were safe.
Just as he was about to say sothing to comfort them, he heard a dull thud coming from the darkness on the other side.
“It drives mad!
Those damn bastards, we’re all working so hard, how can it be for those people!” Frey punched the wooden bars, her teeth gnashing in anger.
“Hey, inside there, what’s all the racket!
Want to taste the whip—?” ca the fierce voice of the prison guard imdiately from outside.
Frey, though enraged and wanting to rush out to pull these lackeys out one by one and beat them up, knew her current predicant.
She took a deep breath and cald down.
“Brand, what should we do?” she asked quietly.
Another voice chid in imdiately, “Is this the Black Dungeon?
Aunt said so people are kept in the Black Dungeon for their whole lives, never seeing the light of day.
Brand, will we end up like that too?”
“Shut your Crow’s Beak, Romantic,” Frey answered irritably on behalf of Brand.
Brand chuckled, “Do you still have hopes for those people?”
“I hope they all die!” Frey said through gritted teeth.
“But without their help, Ridenburg would be in danger,” Brand replied softly, walking to the cell door.
Frey fell silent.
“At least I’ve done my best,” she answered.
“My strength isn’t limitless.
I’ve done as much as I can for everyone in Buqi.”
Brand felt a sense of relief.
It seed that the whole night’s ordeal was worth it.
In fact, he noticed that since the dream under the Golden Tree, Frey had swiftly matured.
That’s why his ‘Valkyrie Training Plan’ could be carried out; he had to make Frey his deputy.
An S-rank leader in the ga, this venture was bound to be profitable.
“It’s good to think that way,” he responded.
“Brand, do you have a plan?”
“Hmm, you guys stand back a bit.” Brand wouldn’t have dared to co in without a way out.
He was so confident because he knew that the real ‘long night full of dreams’ was yet to co.
Ridiculously, the nobles of Ridenburg were still unaware.
Frey had brought them a final chance, only to be imprisoned here under false accusations.
Self-destruction, that’s what it is.
“Wait, Brand, what are you going to do?
Don’t act recklessly, this is a dungeon!” Frey, although verbally wanting the nobles to die, still considered herself a subject of Erune.
If she boldly charged out like this, wouldn’t it be rebellion?
“I’ve got a plan.”
“What kind of plan!
Romantic, say sothing to persuade him!” Frey couldn’t help but lower her voice.
On one hand, she hoped the guards outside would co in to stop Brand’s crazy actions, but on the other hand, she worried that outside might notice the commotion inside, leaving her deeply conflicted.
“Brand, I want to go out too,” Miss rchant answered.
“Shut up, that’s not what I ant for you to say!” Frey was about to cry.
Did these two even understand the situation?
Escaping from prison would be punishable by hanging!
The thought of her two closest companions becoming notorious criminals left her feeling helpless.
