Now reading: Chapter 149: Act 8 Knight, Advance Forward3 from Amber Sword, a Game novel by Crimson Flame.

After losing the Corpse Witch, the mindless bone skeletons began to act on instinct, and their instinct was to destroy life. They gathered together, preparing to charge.

But Brand easily commanded the rcenaries to bypass them and reoccupied the high ground. When the two sides clashed again, another Security Cavalry was injured in the thigh. Brand gained 131 points of experience, and the Skull Cavalry squad was completely annihilated.

Brand ordered his cavalry to stop and rest on the spot. Then he led people, together with Char, to clean up the battlefield. When they saw the scattered bone skeletons and skeletal horses that had collapsed after losing their masters, everyone could hardly believe their eyes.

They had actually won, and only two people were injured.

However, they didn’t know that Brand’s understanding of Madara’s Skull Cavalry tactics likely surpassed that of the Corpse Witch who commanded them. The young man sat on his horse, staring east into the mist, pursing his lips. Madara seed like his nesis, one he had never defeated in the ga, but now it was different.

The Skull Cavalry didn’t have anything valuable. Brand just checked briefly and then instructed Yulier to collect all their swords. Madara’s Black Nether Sword was considered quite exceptional among the Whiteboard Swords—after all, not every race’s craftsn had the opportunity to use Soul Fire to forge steel like the undead craftsn.

He then pointed in the distance to Reto and Mano, saying, "Listen to the sound."

At this ti, the way Mano and Reto looked at Brand had completely changed. In the previous battle, he had not only proven his commanding skills but his extraordinary swordsmanship and terrifying strength had deeply shocked everyone present.

Those skeletons who dared to cross swords with him all had at least half of their bones shattered and sent flying, and even Madara’s Soul Steel would bend and break under that Elf Sword.

Especially the confidence this young man exuded—as long as they charged with him, anyone would beco addicted to that exhilarating feeling.

Mano and Reto were stunned and imdiately listened carefully. It wasn’t long before they heard a clattering sound.

"Skull army, no, a sea of skulls."

To Brand’s surprise, the first person to speak was Reto, and his judgnt was quite accurate. Brand turned back to take a closer look at this so-called bar owner, realizing that the man’s identity might not be as simple as it seed. He had long suspected that these rcenaries had a background; such strength was not likely for just anyone fighting for inco in wars.

Mano’s face also changed. The number of skeletons on the misty side could be in the thousands. He couldn’t help but look back at Brand. How did this young man know? If he didn’t know, then the timing of his judgnt to attack that Undead Scout Cavalry was too perfect.

It could be said to be just right.

If that Undead Scout Cavalry wasn’t eliminated, they might be in a very passive situation. Unless they abandoned the refugees and fled, which neither Brand nor Frey seed likely to agree to.

"Should we go up and hold them back?" Renault’s face darkened as he asked.

"No need, without cavalry, they can’t catch us." Brand waved his hand, "Just know this among yourself, don’t say it out loud. I am very clear about Madara’s tactical intentions, and since you are with , I have the confidence to lead you out—"

"However, there is one thing: battle is unavoidable. Any of us could die here. The fight will be fierce, not just a small skirmish like this. You’d better be prepared psychologically."

"Psychologically prepared," Mano chuckled, "We are rcenaries, kid. If you want to talk about this, we’re stronger than you. Let tell you, this Reto has been through the Battle of Nock Valley."

A veteran of the November War? Brand glanced at Renault and smiled, sheathing his sword but saying nothing.

He looked up at the eastern moon, its light growing dimr, and dawn was approaching. At least until the morning sun rose, they wouldn’t encounter any ghosts.

He exhaled a breath.
