Magus reached out his hand to stroke the Ghoul squatting beside him like a well-behaved dog. However, this Half Zombie General did not know that while he assud everything was going smoothly, the commander of the undead army directly in front of Brando was in a dilemma.

In fact, about a quarter of an hour ago, the Black Knight Sasar had already confird that he had lost contact with his two squads of ten Skull Cavalry. He suspected that he had been targeted by an unknown Erune military force. Therefore, he imdiately sent out scouts to contact the nearby Eleventh Squadron, but regardless of whether he sent Ghosts or Skull Cavalry, they all vanished without a trace.

Now, this Black Knight realized that the situation might be quite serious.

*********

When Brando and the rcenaries appeared on the hilltop, they saw the undead squad below stopping and preparing to hold their position. Batom, Reto, and Mano did not yet sense anything unusual, but Brando furrowed his brow in concern.

The quality of Madara’s junior and middle-level officers was astonishingly exceptional—young Brando hoped that the enemy commander would decide to seek support from their allied forces in another direction amidst their uncertainty, allowing them to safely lead the refugees through this gap.

But the commander of this undead army made the most accurate judgnt at the first mont.

"What are they doing?"

Votarong, who had a basic understanding of Madara’s tactics, couldn’t help but ask. He looked at Brando, no longer doubting his abilities.

"Standing guard on the spot. We dealt with their reconnaissance cavalry too neatly, giving them the illusion that a force three tis their size was targeting them," Brando replied.

"Three tis? Why don’t they seek support from their allies, isn’t staying here just waiting to be divided and surrounded?" Votarong continued.

"Their commander is waiting for their allies’ scouts."

"Don’t they fear we might intercept those scouts too?" Mano wiped his curved sword casually as he answered.

Brando glanced at him, thinking to himself, could scouts be intercepted so easily? If they weren’t relying on the Stone Statue Ghosts, the strongest reconnaissance troops in ’Amber Sword’, there’s no way they could freely move within the search range of several undead armies’ scouts.

"Eliminating the scouts ans telling them there are enemies in this direction. The reason we dealt with those two Skull Cavalry squads earlier is because Brando intends to take down this squad as well," Reto explained from the side.

"So, isn’t our ti limited?" Mano asked.

"One hour, to finish the battle and clean up the battlefield," Brando replied.

*********

About twenty minutes later, Freya led the Self-defense Corps into the field.

When Sasar saw the fir trees on the hilltop beginning to sway, he finally saw rows of soldiers holding long spears coming down from the hilltop. He was stunned for a mont; their attire was unlike any unit of the White Mane Legion he had in mind.

He couldn’t help but turn his head and asked in a hoarse voice, "What unit is that?"

The Corpse Witch beside him imdiately bowed respectfully, "Seems like militia."

"Militia?"

Sasar was stunned, could militia silently eliminate two skull cavalry units? The Black Knight couldn’t help but suspect a trick; he stood up on his horse and gestured behind him.

"Switch to bow and arrow—"

"Mark one hundred and forty feet, volley, release—"

The skeleton soldiers imdiately took the longbows from their waists, creaking as they drew them. Then with a ’twang,’ the bowstrings were released, sending a flurry of black arrowheads soaring into the fir forest on the hillside.

The mountain wind was strong, making the arrows quite inaccurate. But for the poorly trained militia, the deterrent was significant, causing the advancing Self-defense Corps to halt montarily, their formation breaking.

However, they still had Freya, who rode her horse from the left to the right of the formation, trying to encourage the rcenaries and light infantry from the White Mane Legion to inspire the militia to attack.

"Lower your bodies, bow your heads, everyone! Rember what you learned during training! Don’t stop, follow , rember, this battle is for your families—"

Freya led the charge, holding a longsword and shouting encouragent.

At least it seed her efforts were effective; under her encouragent, the militia quickly regained their courage—reforming their ranks and gradually advancing down the hill once more.

Sasar frowned and ordered another round of arrows. After adjustnts, this volley from the skeleton soldiers was noticeably more accurate, with several militia mbers in the front three rows falling under the arrow barrage.

But after two volleys, the militia beca more stable, overcoming their psychological fear, making the effectiveness of the arrows not as significant as imagined.

Sasar quickly gestured again, pointing to the female knight, directing the third wave of arrows towards Freya. But the Wind Queen Half Armor on her body imdiately sparkled with countless light spots, each arrow flying towards her deflected and falling aside.

This almost miraculous scene stunned everyone, and the militia couldn’t help but cheer loudly, chanting Freya’s na.

"Elf Guard?" Seeing this, the Black Knight almost laughed in anger. Sasar wondered where this peculiar army had co from.

On the other side, Brando finally nodded at this mont. Though clumsy at tis, the scene before him proved that Freya was indeed the Valkyrie he envisioned, born for the battlefield.

He took out a pocket watch and glanced at it.

The timing was perfect—

Then Brando drew the Azure Light Piercing, the Elf Sword in his hand glowing brightly. The sudden flash on the battlefield astonished everyone, causing both sides to look towards him.

"Elf Sword!" Sasar instantly recognized the weapon, almost screaming as he instinctively drew his own sword.

But Brando held the sword high, shouting, "Char!"

One of the young Wizard Followers imdiately understood, raising the ruby in his hand and pointing: "Sharp, Divide, Blade Formation."

A layer of white lines instantly extended along the Elf Sword in Brando’s hand towards its tip, flashing once before disappearing, leaving behind the solidified spell effect on the sword blade—Azure Light Piercing was already incredibly sharp, but now it was even more unstoppable.

"A new day has arrived, Lord, rember my maintenance costs," Char said with a mischievous grin after casting the spell.

Brando smiled faintly.

Then he pointed the sword downwards, his blade aid at Sasar’s position, signaling that the battle was about to comnce.
