Chapter 208: Scene 33 ‘Red Copper Dragon’ Reto

After the three left their ho near Pine Forest Avenue in Turaman, Batom couldn’t help but cautiously ask Brand: “My lord, your elders must be familiar with the Master Wizard, right?”

The young man glanced at this red-bearded rcenary leader, smiled but didn’t answer.

Batom was stunned for a while, not quite able to grasp the aning.

Although the scene of the young knight leading them through countless Undead Army left him deeply convinced, he sotis couldn’t help but be skeptical, despite his admiration. Brand’s everyday behavior and speech didn’t seem like that of a noble-born.

The young man said he would inherit a territory, but Batom still had so doubts. Of course, this disbelief didn’t create any sense of alienation; he still worked wholeheartedly for Brand. After all, he felt that following this outstanding young man might promise a better future.

However, deep down, he couldn’t help but think that nobles cared a lot about appearances.

But the events of the previous monts sowhat overturned the rcenary leader’s understanding. Unlike Frey, who only amplified Brand’s mysterious aura in her mind, Batom totally believed in Brand’s words at that mont:

This young knight not only had a strong background but possibly an extraordinary one. Not just anyone would associate with those powerful Highland Wizard Lords, who were so influential that even the King might not be able to humble them.

Thinking of this, Batom couldn’t help but glance at Brand ahead again, scratching his head.

On the morning of the third day.

The group finally arrived at the ‘legendary’ Brags—

Brags could be considered the center of the Southern Golan-Elson. This city was built on the eastern slopes of Yu Song River’s gryphon hills, spreading down a gentle slope.

It had concentric gray-white city walls, ascending layer by layer. From the area around Pine Forest Avenue, it looked like a plaster mold, hence the local villagers also called Brags the White City.

On sunny days, travelers from the Anzek and Dragos regions could see the sparkling brown rooftops and the ascending streets from several miles away.

In dieval tis, that was undoubtedly a magnificent sight, symbolizing the prosperity of civilization—

Of course, Brags wasn’t truly a big city, but it still boasted a dense population of 35,000 within the vast region east of Yu Song River. In the southern Golan-Elson Yu Song area, it was possibly the densest population center.

Brags had the usual city facilities—like Black Pine Avenue lined with shops and workshops, rows of varying height wooden houses forming a unique landscape of the district. Travelers and rchants from surrounding regions gathered here, and the streets were always bustling with carriages and pack mules.

Frey and Romantic ca to such a big city for the first ti. Although they always thought Ridenburg and Anzek were the limits of their imagination, Brags’ layer-upon-layer towering walls, neat streets, and bustling comrce deeply shocked them.

Brags had always served as a southern military fortress to monitor Madara before the year of the Dagger. Therefore, it had an innate majestic three-dinsional feel. Even Brand, a modern man, couldn’t help but be in awe, not to ntion the two inexperienced country girls, Romantic and Frey.

Novelty naturally arouses interest—

Everyone was in high spirits, but the rchant lady and Frey soon stopped in front of a silversmith’s shop; girls always liked such shiny, delicate trinkets. Besides, Brags’ silver was renowned throughout the Kingdom, and its silversmiths were top-notch.

Frey admired a crescent-shaped brooch, while Romantic fancied a small silver box. However, what amused Brand was that they both clutched their bags tightly, a common habit among country girls.

The young man quietly pulled Batom aside to ask the silversmith about the price. His last few hundred Thors were spent like water—though, for these two little gifts, Romantic, after a small pleasant surprise, accepted it gladly and cast a happy glance at him.
