Chapter 229: Scene 42: New mber

“Sword, Sword Qi…” Limp Man’s face suddenly changed.

He couldn’t help but take a closer look at Brand, suspecting that this young man was not the one he knew. The Brand he knew was just a young lad recently coming out of the Militia, maybe slightly famous in swordsmanship, but it hadn’t been even half a year, how could he have beco a Sword Master who has unlocked Elental Power?

Antitina gripped the door fra, then loosened it. The sudden change almost exceeded her imagination’s limit. The girl bit her lip, never expecting that the person bringing her news of her father would be a Thorny Flower Knight (Gold Rank), such a young Great Swordsman. She couldn’t help but wonder if this young man was actually a Revealer born with Level 1 Strength?

Batom folded his arms, remaining relatively composed. He watched everyone’s reactions, inwardly chuckling: The first ti he saw Sir Knight using such Sword Skill, wasn’t he also astonished beyond words? Of course, he held a vague sense of superiority, because he knew Brand’s true strength was far beyond this.

As for those ‘Security Cavalry’ on the other side, they were already terrified. They speculated about Brand’s identity as much as they could—reaching the limits of their poor imagination, at most, they could think the other party might be a noble, and further, maybe a descendant of so big family. Beyond that, they dared not think anymore.

But who could have imagined such a young Thorny Flower Knight would appear right in front of them?

Of course, perhaps Brand was not a Great Swordsman at all. But he didn’t mind creating such an illusion in front of these people, and just as he had hoped, this impression was now deeply etched in their minds, enough to make them consider retreating.

Brand then retracted his sword and replied, “Did you hear that? This young lady said her father doesn’t know any Viscount Test.”

“But…” The leader finally ca back to his senses from the shock, with a tangled expression, and spoke subconsciously.

Brand subtly gestured to Batom.

“But what? Get out!” Red Beard’s rcenary glanced at Brand, then imdiately turned back and sternly commanded.

The group exchanged glances. It was clear the other side didn’t want to reason with them—this attitude was familiar to them, except usually, it was them who disdained reasoning with others. They thought of taking action directly, but standing opposite was a Thorny Flower Knight—even without his bodyguard stepping in, that young man alone could take them all down in ten seconds.

The leader was almost speechless, but he took a deep breath, forcibly held back, and answered, “I understand, sir is determined to intervene in this matter. So, I hope you can make it clear, who is prepared to go against Viscount Test?”

Brand glanced at this guy, thinking he was quite a character, trying to bait him with words. If he were truly a noble, he might fall for it, but unfortunately, ‘players’ never have this attribute. However, he remained vigilant because if he refused to answer—it might arouse their suspicion about his identity.

This leader was a bit clever, such an open move could be considered a calculative sche. ‘Owl’ Jon, Brand noted the na silently.

He thought for a mont, smiled inwardly, took out a small piece of paper from his pocket, folded it, and threw it over: “Give this to your Viscount, as for my identity, you’re not qualified to know yet.”

The group was slightly stunned, staring at the folded piece of paper on the ground in a daze.

Left with no other options, they obediently picked up the paper and withdrew the way they ca, just giving Limp Man a deep glance, without saying another word. Naturally, the initiative was entirely in Brand’s hands, and speaking further would only be self-humiliating.

Seeing the last person disappear around the corridor corner, Brand turned back. The first thing he saw was the flickering gaze of Limp Man. He couldn’t help but smile, asking, seemingly unintentionally: “What are you thinking, Lorne?” In truth, besides Batom, only Limp Man knew his true identity among them now.

Batom was naturally trustworthy, but this cunning old fox was another story.
