Chapter 250: 51 Acts of Fishing in Troubled Waters (Part 3)

Find that Elental Revelation Scroll.

In fact, using an Elental Revelation Scroll to open an Elent Pool doesn’t consu much ti. Moreover, it’s the first ti this Elent Pool is being opened, so as it opens, the rich elental power contained within the scroll gets absorbed. The four elents will then fill the opener’s new, barely ford ‘little pond’.

With those elents, he could pay the cost for the ‘Holy Sword’—

With the Holy Sword, not to ntion handling such things, at least self-preservation shouldn’t be an issue.

This was also why he had released those spiders earlier, believing that Wind Spirit Spiders, born of elents and mana, would be more adept at finding such an item than himself.

Brand quickly pieced together the plan and turned around, shouting, “Char.”

“Understood, Lord.”

The young Wizard Apprentice turned and smiled slightly. “Good luck, my Lord. I hope to see you again soon—”

Brand nodded seriously. His Wizard Follower had already raised the ruby in his hand. Countless white lines instantly extended from the gemstone between his thumb and forefinger. These white lines, or rather the selected part of the 130 million laws defined by Martha on the other side of the world, belonging to protection, resistance, and counterforce, brightened up. They intertwined and ford a solid wall that radiated a golden light before disappearing into thin air.

A blood-armored skeleton raised an axe and smashed it against the wall.

Ripples spread out in circles. The gemstone in Char’s hand cracked with a snap, but the young Wizard Apprentice continued to maintain his spell at the cost of overusing the dium.

“Go,” he whispered.

Brand took one last look, then turned and pushed open the door on the other side, rushing out. The Elental Revelation Scroll was currently in the hands of soone unknown, but while underground auctions did allow for on-the-spot deliveries, nobles usually had the auction items sent directly to their estates after the event.

Thus, he had a chance.

He quickly crossed the corridor, heading in the direction Batom and the others had departed. However, buildings like this typically had ergency passages. If he could find it, it would make things a lot easier. But as he opened one door after another, disappointnt grew, and he beca increasingly anxious.

Before long, he heard a loud crash behind him— it was the sound of a Crusader Executioner, which apparently hadn’t given up on his pursuit.

Char was already dead.

Brand couldn’t help but check his status. The Highland Followers card was showing a rare grayish color, displayed among all his cards. The Wind Spirit Spider Card was similarly affected; previous losses had left it half-gray. It seed that summoning cards all faced so graveyard threats.

He hesitated for a mont before dismissing his thought of recalling the remaining Wind Spirit Spiders. It was incredibly difficult for him to find the right target in this auction house alone. However, the Wind Spirit Spiders, born of elents and mana, would surely have a better chance of locating the Elental Revelation Scroll or its holder.

But just then, the sound behind him drew closer again.

It seed that terrifying undead wasn’t going to give him any ti—

At the sa mont, a Wind Spirit Spider shot out from a room, landing instantly at his feet— it hesitated for a mont, and then quickly darted in another direction. Found it? Brand’s heart skipped a beat. He imdiately gave chase, easily matching the speed of the Wind Spirit Spider thanks to his superior dexterity. However, the heavy footsteps behind him grew louder and closer, and his heart pounded anxiously.

How much further?

Will I be caught?

Is it really the Elental Revelation Scroll?

There were too many uncertain factors, but Brand could only grit his teeth and gamble. Together with the small green creature, he rounded a corner and ca upon a side corridor, where several corpses, presumably auction house staff, lay strewn across the floor.

Enemies. Brand imdiately grew cautious, but he soon saw a few skeleton soldiers, clad in dark chain armor and ard with longswords, stumbling out from behind the side doors, and he breathed a sigh of relief. In an instant, he activated the Charge Skill, and the young man dashed past these low-level undead like a gust of wind— about a month ago, these skeletons would have been mortal enemies, but now they were no more than re cannon fodder before him.
