Now reading: Chapter 27 - 27 Act 9 Battle of the Corpse Witch from Amber Sword, a Game novel by Crimson Flame.

27: Act 9 Battle of the Corpse Witch 27: Act 9 Battle of the Corpse Witch The lower-level Corpse Witch specializes in two spells, Dark Curtain and Corruption Skill.

Both spells are ‘evil’ elents of Black Magic.

In the ga, Black Magic was brought to the Earth by the Miner people.

The Miner people are servants of the Dark Dragon.

In the chaotic era before the beginning of the First Epoch, they lived on the frozen highlands of Northern Cruz.

The shamans of the Miner people are skilled in using Spirit Communication Skill and Black Witchcraft.

Later on, these two spells, along with all offensive spells not associated with any elent, nature, or holy faction, were collectively called Black Magic.

After the Holy War, the Fla King Gilte drove these dark inhabitants to the cold East.

It is said that no one saw them again from that point onwards.

But the Miner people must exist.

In the Black Magic Book, it is ntioned that the Dark Lords exiled to Madara learned the legacy of Black Witchcraft from the hands of these demons’ descendants.

However, Dark Curtain being called Black Magic is sowhat misleading, as it is an assistive concealnt spell.

This spell just so happens to be able to cover the movents of a small squad of skeleton soldiers.

Of course, it is not complete invisibility or disappearance.

You can imagine it as a blinding technique that blends into a dark background.

Yes, it doesn’t hide sounds, slls, or anything other than visual factors and must be within a certain range.

But at night, this spell becos the best cover for Madara’s Undead Army.

This is the main reason why the Madara army often operates at night.

As for Corruption Skill, this frightening Black Magic spell was already witnessed once by Frey and others on Josen.

It is a vicious attack spell and the main attack thod of a Corpse Witch.

It erodes enemies through negative energy.

The more serious the enemy’s negative emotions and the weaker their willpower, the greater the spell damage they suffer.

Til death.

This spell works similarly to most Black Magic, manifesting destructive power by amplifying negative energy.

Mastering mysterious Black Magic and commanding mindless skeleton soldiers—the Corpse Witch itself is even stronger and naturally deceitful and unpredictable, making it seem like a difficult enemy to defeat.

But Suophie knew a secret: the Corpse Witch itself does not actually possess casting ability.

Its true power cos from the bone staff it holds, a powerful magic item unique to each Corpse Witch.

Once out of hand, it would revert to an ordinary stick.

Understanding this point gives clarity on how to develop tactics against it.

As another skeleton soldier fell, under Suophie’s reminder, the militia’s strongest swordsn, Frey and Essen, flanked the Corpse Witch preparing a spell, one from the left and one from the right.

“Attack its hand, Black Witchcraft is not as mysterious as you think,” Suophie pointed out this undead monster’s weakness from behind: “See its hand movents?

Disrupt its spell casting and take its bone staff…”

The Corpse Witch suddenly lifted its head, locking eyes with Suophie, a venomous glow flickering within a wisp of green phosphorus fire.

Suophie choked, his throat dry; he knew he had been targeted by the enemy—but our protagonist quickly cald down, realizing that this undead creature could not bypass the militia to attack him directly.

However, being targeted by a lifeless, cold creature was never a comfortable feeling.

Suophie had to stop and wait for Frey and Essen’s attacks to take effect.

The Corpse Witch smirked sinisterly, shaking its bone staff, making the surrounding darkness ripple like waves and engulf it.

When Essen’s longsword pierced through like a flash of snow, it only struck empty air as the undead monster’s spot beca vacant.

“Huh?” The young man slightly puzzled.

Suophie’s expression remained unchanged, far too familiar with these tricks: “Essen, to your left!”

Essen didn’t react imdiately.

But Frey, who arrived from behind, had already swung her sword straight down, the treasure sword drawing a straight silver line in the dim environnt, about to reach the spot Suophie pointed out.

But before that, the Corpse Witch staggered backward.

Everyone saw that shadow retreating like flowing water.

“Human, who are you!

You’re not just any militia!” a sharp voice exploded from the shadow.

The Corpse Witch looked sowhat frantic.

Indeed, a militia wouldn’t know so much.

So things Suophie ntioned were even known only among wizards in Madara.
