Chapter 273: Scene 58 After the Calamity_3

However, Antitina still carefully tied her light brown hair up and adorned it with flowers for her, so that when the little rchant fox walked out of the room, she turned around proudly in front of Brand, then sweetly threw him a flirty glance. Brand was still a bit dazed seeing her like this.

However, with her current appearance, she looked a lot like one of those spendthrift female rchants at Ampezel Port. Only none of those won with such status would roll up their sleeves, expose their fair arms, and bend down here to seriously pick up stone pieces on the riverbank to see which one could fly further on the water.

In fact, Brand didn’t even understand why she had to wear such a cumberso outfit when coming out into the wild.

Of course, the answer to this question would probably be: because I am a rchant. Such an unthinking response.

Batom listened to Romantic’s words, looking questioningly at Brand.

Brand then nodded: “In less than half a month, the refugees gathered in the south of Brags will have issues. The upcoming celebration may appease them for a while, but it ultimately doesn’t address the root cause. Those well-off nobles won’t understand.”

“Really?” This ti even Antitina showed a curious expression.

Brand nodded. The August turmoil, historically, wasn’t a big deal. But it was enough for Test to submit an answer, and they didn’t need to lift a finger.

Brand didn’t have the mind to stop this riot, nor did he have the power. The refugees needed room to survive. Settling them was a difficult task, and the nobles were unwilling to bear this burden, and no one could shoulder it.

That was tens of thousands of mouths to feed.

Batom opened his mouth but didn’t expect that the complex problem he thought of would be so casually solved by Brand. He couldn’t help but look back at Antitina, the latter vaguely worried—unlike the carefree Red-bearded rcenary, who only thought in the simplest terms of profit and loss—she always felt that Brand seed to know more than any of them.

But Brand saw the Limp Man leading people out of the dark forest, his spirits lifted. He had sent the Limp Man to investigate matters in the city, and it seed he had so clues.

Sure enough, the Limp Man and two short Night Thieves erged from the bushes and said to Brand, “We’ve found out, it was indeed due to those fools’ negligence. Those Undead disguised themselves as rchants and entered the city.”

“Who?” Brand asked.

“A cavalry captain nad Kalan Cardo,” the Limp Man replied, wanting to say more but seeing Brand shaking his head. Brand happened to know Kalan Cardo because this guy would later beco the Silver Wing Cavalry Corps Commander of the White Mane Legion—

“This guy is a Royalist,” Brand murmured.

So that’s it. Negligence? Probably not that simple. He couldn’t help but think of those Torches at the auction; this matter probably had sothing to do with the Royal Family. In ‘Amber Sword,’ all events in Brags on this day were later covered up, otherwise, Brand wouldn’t know nothing about it.

This indicated there must be so unseen forces behind it.

The Royal Family was playing with fire here.

Brand figured out the cause and effect, breaking out in a cold sweat. It was incredible that Oberg the Seventh ca up with this. This was like inviting a wolf into one’s ho. Fortunately, Instarlon wasn’t interested in Golan-Elsen; otherwise, if they took advantage of the situation, Erune’s southern region would probably be in complete chaos.

Of course, he couldn’t help but think maliciously—perhaps Oberg the Seventh believed the south’s situation couldn’t get any worse.
