Capítulo 554: Scene 26 Expansion (7) (1st update, my recent mindset seems to be more peaceful, requesting Monthly Ticket)

Antitina clasped her hands tightly in front of her chest, silently watching as more and more figures moved through the forest. Since the beginning of the Frost Descent Month, even though the first snow of Erune was still so ti away, the nightti temperature had already dropped significantly. The thin white breath each person exhaled in the cold air hovered above the lumberyard, forming a mist. Behind the parapets, soldiers rubbed their hands to ward off the chill, and the cold quiet of the night carried a hint of lethal tension.

Nearly all the rcenaries were stationed on the wooden walls, with no one left as reserve forces – even though Yuta and Crenxia vehently opposed it, Brand had personally told her it was unnecessary, and for this noble daughter, that ant it was the truth.

“What if there’s a sudden situation? This is putting everyone in danger!”

When answering the question from the angry female squad leader, Antitina suddenly had a playful thought for so reason; she imagined that if Brand deceived her, she would haunt the young man as a ghost after she died.

This sudden idea startled her, making her cheeks flush slightly, even a little warm. She blew out a breath, seriously shaking her head to dismiss the thought from her mind.

But Yuta, seeing the noble girl blush and then shake her head as if she was daydreaming, only gave her a faint reply: “These are Lord’s orders—” and couldn’t help but lose all the good impression she had painstakingly accumulated towards her.

This irresponsible answer made Yuta turn around and leave, angrily inspecting her own subordinates. Before she left, she cursed silently in her heart, ‘Pretentious noble,’ though previously she would have said such a thing outright to Antitina’s face.

In fact, invisibly, even she had not realized they were already influenced by Brand. On second thought, at least she no longer opposed such an approach of committing forces all at once.

If this order ca from that young man, there must be a good reason.

With the sa thought, Crenxia also stopped objecting. But as he turned back, he saw a faint smile on the dark face of the tall Great Commander of the Fire Earth Battle Group. The silver-haired middle-aged man was stunned.

“You knew all along?” he instinctively asked, feeling a sense of vigilance.

But Fern seed to see through the shrewd old fox’s thoughts. Unconcerned, he smiled and rubbed his nose: “That little girl is calr than you and . Do you think she’d give random orders? The only one who can command her must be that young lord…”

“You certainly observe keenly.” Crenxia snorted.

“Likewise.” Fern thought to himself but did not say out loud. Beside him, an experienced rcenary gave rough estimates of the number of Cave Dwellers in the forest every now and then, and he simply listened silently to the count like a watchman, not speaking.

The number of Cave Dwellers quickly grew to over a thousand. They stirred in the forest, alerting everyone.

The stars in the night sky flickered, yet ti finally passed the first two hours after midnight. Initially, Antitina, battling fatigue and Romantic’s endless strange questions, finally faltered, but just as she blinked her sleepy eyes and tried to stifle a yawn, she heard a series of abnormal noises.

It was the sound of the surrounding rcenaries readying their crossbows.

Our noble daughter was instantly alert. She looked up to see that the Cave Dwellers in the forest had begun to move. They marched out of the forest in rows, each row shielded by one or two Bear Goblins wielding huge wooden shields.

“Are there siege weapons?”

The rcenaries’ inquiries echoed from the top of the city wall.

“No!”

“None seen!”

The scouts’ voices quickly relayed from the tower. Almost everyone let out a breath of relief simultaneously. “Lord guessed it again—” Antitina thought, standing behind the parapet, her expression unchanging.

The Cave Dwellers began to accelerate at a distance of about 150 yards. From the wooden wall, it looked like they were rely jogging, but the sea of enormous wooden shields was already rippling.

One hundred yards.
