She had once inquired about the past stories of this small group, but at most, she only heard about the tale of the Red Copper Dragon Reto. In fact, more than once, she had wondered what had happened before Ridenburg, at the very beginning of Madara’s invasion.

This noble girl, with a woman’s keen intuition, felt that there must be more stories within. However, like the backgrounds of both Roman and Brand, everything was an unsolvable mystery.

She only knew that there was another significant woman in this group. From Brand’s words, she learned that the girl was called Frey, who was now far away from their group—who she was and what she was doing now, Brand never ntioned, and she had no idea where to start asking.

“You don’t understand,” Miss rchant unconsciously revealed a slightly proud and mysterious smile at the corner of her mouth, her eyes shining, “when Brand took and escaped from Buqi, I saw the look in his eyes and knew that Brand had already beco a real man—”

“Because my aunt often told that a real man is willing to take responsibility for his promises, so Little Roman must find a man willing to protect her.” Roman rubbed her hands and slowly answered.

“Just because of that?” Yuta found it sowhat incredulous.

Fern listened without saying a word, just matching the deeds of the young lord one by one. Only Crenxia dismissed disdainfully, “In all the regions I’ve been to, I’ve never seen a noble lord who could be considered a man. In fact, if one of those guys is decent, I’d give him a thumbs-up.”

His words gained a lot of agreent from the surrounding rcenaries, but Antitina didn’t refute. She just silently rembered the ntion of Buqi by Roman.

She looked up as if to say sothing, but at that mont, a rcenary hurriedly approached from the wooden wall on the other side and interrupted their conversation with bad news:

“Captains, it seems there’s movent in the forest. The scout says the cave dwellers seem to be preparing to attack again.”

Everyone was taken aback. This soon? The previously harmonious atmosphere vanished in an instant. The scene fell silent as the rcenaries exchanged glances, and a cloud of gloom silently enveloped everyone present.

Antitina had once told them to wait for news of victory from the young lord, but now it seed like clouds had covered the moonlight, and there was no trace of hope in the darkness.

At this mont, even the noble daughter herself felt a sense of suffocation.

But in the valley, the changes on the battlefield took the cave dwellers by surprise.

The tal steed lightly leaped over the center of the battlefield. When the silver hooves touched the ground, Qian was the first to jump off the horse. She landed lightly beside Tajib and turned back, her amber eyes reflecting the cave dwellers turning around and charging in their direction.

The angels summoned by Brand blocked those cave dwellers in the lead, striking down any who dared to co close with a single sword.

Qian furrowed her brow, instinctively feeling the urgency of ti. She imdiately placed the war-hamr in her hand backward with a soft click, aiming it at the neck of the cave dweller leader lying on the ground—

“Make them surrender.”

“I… am dead,” Tajib stuttered in Kruz Language, “You… can’t survive either.”

This guy’s cunning took the girl by surprise. After a slight pause, she coldly snorted, pretending to be calm as she said, “Stop playing smart! Don’t forget, we have the Flying Horse,” she pressed the gun blade a little closer, “I’ll give you one more chance, make them stop attacking now!”

There was so hesitation in Tajib’s heart. It certainly feared death, but things were obviously not that simple, so it decided to take a gamble: “If that’s the case, then arrange for to et with Lord Xi Ya—”

Xi Ya was the deity of the Earth in the cave dwellers’ mythology, rumored to be a giant lizard living in the Earth Elent Plane. However, players in the Amber Room had long proven that it was rely a mythical dragon-like creature, unrelated to deities.

“Don’t think I dare not kill you!” Anger rose faintly in Qian’s heart, and she couldn’t resist kicking him. The kick was so forceful that it sent him rolling on the ground several tis.

But the kick only confird Tajib’s suspicion. It wasn’t afraid; instead, it leisurely got up, dusting itself off as it calmly replied, “I think… you might get away, but your companions in the forest… probably not safe, right?”

“You—” Qian was stunned. She hadn’t expected this shrewd cave dweller to guess their thoughts so accurately, but she certainly couldn’t admit it and was montarily at a loss.

“Which faction do you belong to?” Brand took over the conversation, looking down at the other from his horse, “Torrand City or Longshe City?”

His words imdiately had an effect. Tajib cautiously shut its mouth—though it had no eyes, the cave dweller instinctively looked up at the young lord—if its facial expression could be described, it must have been one of fearing a viper.

Torrand City and Longshe City were not well-known in the underground of Jogen Digan, but they were indeed the archenemies of the underground city lord Tajib had served. This indicated that the young man was familiar with the underground world. Tajib suddenly realized its advantage had vanished, like an indistinct superiority being drained from its body.

It had to reevaluate these humans it had always looked down on, for the first ti feeling they were on par with it. But where did they co from? Why ntion Torrand and Longshe City? What was their connection to its enemy lord?

Since it had left the underground world, it had nothing to do with its forr lord. In the underground world of Jogen Digan, changing allegiances was very common. It couldn’t imagine why they needed to pursue it relentlessly. (To be continued, for more chapters, please visit qidian. Support the authors, support legitimate reading!)
