The attacker must be much stronger than the one attacked for this to work.
This indicates that there are more powerful monsters here.
Not only Brando, but Qian also noticed this; she said nothing, but her face grew serious.
As for the miner, he collapsed to the ground trembling like a leaf when he saw the body of the overseer. He was terrified. In his mind, these foren were high and mighty beings, yet they had turned into cold corpses just like that, instilling in him the feeling that his own life could be claid at any mont.
He almost imdiately lost control of his emotions and couldn't help but scream and shout. Brando, helplessly, used the Secondary Snake Ring to paralyze him to prevent him from attracting more monsters.
Only when the miner had cald down could they continue moving forward. Brando surveyed the surroundings and decisively chose a northern tunnel. If his mory served right, this was where he had parted ways with Kevan and others before.
But this ti, not long after the trio had started moving, they were surrounded by two packs of Rock Leopards from all directions. These stone beasts moved silently in the shadows, seeming to grow in number. Brando had already broken two swords, but he was beginning to realize—these Rock Leopards were seemingly endless.
Qian noticed this almost at the sa ti, and she whispered from behind, "We need to break through, Lord. We need to find a way out of here."
Brando nodded, though he had a slightly different plan than the rcenary girl. He knew that an ordinary person would likely resign themselves to their fate here, and a sowhat capable rcenary would probably make a choice similar to Qian's.
But he was different; he was a player.
Continuous 'monster farming' like this was extrely abnormal in the ga. He cald himself and relied on his experience to find the leader hidden among the lower-level monsters.
Sure enough, he soon spotted a cat-like creature, shiny like black jade, flashing through the darkness. Even though it was just a glimpse, Brando had identified the creature—it possessed at least mid-level Black Iron strength.
That was not black jade, but obsidian—
That was the guy he was looking for. The young man imdiately cleaved through the minions blocking his path and charged forward.
But to Brando's surprise, just as he showed his hostility—the creature's reaction was astonishingly swift. He hadn't yet swung his sword when the Black Panther had already turned and disappeared into the darkness.
The obsidian Rock Leopard was incredibly fast, far exceeding what its strength should allow. Brando's Charge Skill hadn't even begun to gather but the creature had vanished around a corner.
Not only the leader beast, but Brando imdiately noticed that the surrounding lower-level Rock Leopards were retreating like a tidal wave. He had just stopped in amazent, but all the monsters vanished without a trace.
What's going on?
Brando did not believe it was his domineering aura that scared the creatures away. Elental creatures have no emotions; they only possess basic logical reasoning.
The tunnel beca desolate—
"What was that?" Qian and the miner both saw the fleeting monster. As Brando stopped, they imdiately caught up and asked.
"The leader." Brando replied, "The leader refers to the head of the beast herd, but here it certainly ans the summoner's eyes. Whether Elf Masters, Beast Summoners, or Undead Wizards, no matter how powerful the caster is, they cannot control a large army alone. They need subordinate scouts to control those summons with minimal intelligence—"
"For example, lower-level Corpse Witches and skeletons."
"It's the sa here," he pointed deeper into the tunnel and continued, "I just don't know how vast this summoning network is. If that black jade-like leopard is the highest level of this network, then it's manageable."
"What if it is not?"
"Then it's trouble."
Brando continued walking deeper into the tunnel as he spoke.
But Qian seed a bit worried. She felt everything underground was eerie. Although it seed the Lord knew what was going on, she did not enjoy being enveloped by the unknown.
She thought for a mont and couldn't help but say, "Lord, we should go back to the third layer. Our objective was to find the guard captain and take control of the Silver Mine, why bother with these monsters here?"
Brando shook his head, "It was indeed like that at first, but Qian, things are different now."
"Different now?" Qian was puzzled.
Brando nodded, a Silver Heritage's value far surpassed that of the entire Silver Mine. It's like trading a Gold Mine for the Golden Apple in Brando's hand, a deal he would never make.
But he didn't explain much and continued walking deeper, but he barely took two steps before he let out a light 'Huh.'
"What's the matter?" Qian asked from behind.
"Co look at this." Brando replied from a corner.
The red-haired girl hobbled forward with her Thunder Gun, but as she rounded the corner, she froze. The space beyond the corner was vast, but at the mont, it looked like it had undergone a terrible storm.
Indeed, under the dim lighting crystal's radiance, the mine was littered with fragnts of Rock Leopards, and among the grey stones were pieces of black jade-like fragnts glowing faintly.
Needless to say, it was the remains of another monster.
Brando raised his head and looked deep into the cave, "Seems like soone got here before us."
"A formidable individual," he said.
