The eerie green text projected on the retina disappeared.
Char imdiately saw a floating light screen appear in front of him. To be precise, the screen should be a roulette wheel, with each engraving on the wheel corresponding to an illustrated card. He paused for a mont and then understood what this ant.
The outer circle of the wheel had one hundred and seventy slots, each card corresponding to an elent color and categorized as ordinary cards of the bronze rare level. The inner layer had forty slots, with cards shimring with a layer of silver light, indicating rare Silver Cards. However, the inner layer was now gray, apparently due to so condition that had yet to be unlocked.
Char's gaze returned to the outer layer. As he looked through each card, he identified what he considered the best one: the Earth Elent Card 'Blood-Soaked Altar' located directly north.
Blood-Soaked Altar
(Wolf Cave III)
25 Earth, 200 Mana
[Boundary—Nest]
You may sacrifice five gray creatures and summon Earth Dragon Votis into the field (Creature—Dragon/Sub-dragon Species, Level 50 Leader).
Regardless of whether Votis dies or the boundary is destroyed, this card will enter the graveyard.
While Votis is on the field, a gray creature must be sacrificed each day to maintain him.
'Not far away, a deep roar echoes from the cave—'
Another card also caught his attention:
Gem Plain
(Ten Thousand Scenic Wonders VI)
[Special Land—Plain]
Tap, generate 2 Light into your Elent Pool.
Tap, pay 2 Light, gain 20 wealth.
'No one knows what kind of natural gift lies beneath the grassland.'
This card attracted Char even more than the first one, because both Light Elent and wealth were resources he urgently needed. Especially the forr, as he had no ans of replenishnt, while he possessed many cards requiring Light Elent investnt.
For instance, Golden Radiance Battle Banner (5 Light), White Sun Blade (5 Light), Holy Great Angel (5 Light), and even maintaining the Great Angel's existence daily incurred an additional upkeep cost.
Since the battle in Fir City that night, Char had been tight-fisted, trying to use his limited resources sparingly, but now he only had six to seven points remaining.
If he obtained this card, his dire situation would dramatically change; the difference between one-ti consumption and sustainable use was clear to anyone.
And the importance of wealth goes without saying, already paramount without needing reiteration.
In fact, Char would find he wasn't just lacking in wealth and Light Elent. If he carefully examined all his resources as a Travel Mage, he would realize his title was hardly fitting.
His total hand count was 19 cards, including used Event Cards - Wolf Cave.
These included 4 Treasure Cards: Holy Sword, Golden Radiance Battle Banner, Silver Foal, Eternal Ball.
5 Creature Cards: Highland Followers, Wind Spirit Spider, Rubis rcenaries, Unicorn Knight, Holy Great Angel.
1 Resource Card: Prosperous Gold Mine.
3 Magic Cards: Energy Drain, White Sun Blade, Side-by-Side Dash.
5 Land Cards: Holy Tree Secret Land, Ruogen Swamp, Rochelle's Market, Storm Nest, Ember Volcano.
1 Event Card: Wolf Cave.
Nineteen cards, not even half the necessary number for a deck. According to Tu n, a deck requires at least over forty cards to be considered a deck capable of freely switching in battles.
aning, if this wasn't Char's first set of cards, he hadn't even t the basic qualification of forty cards. In other words, like an apprentice mage—like him, at best, he could be considered an informal Traveling Mage Apprentice.
In theory, his five Land Cards could provide him with 2 Nature, 1 Water, 1 Shadow, 1 Earth, 2 Wind, and 1 Fire daily, plus an extra 1 Water, 1 Shadow, 1 Wind, and 1 Fire weekly.
However, in practice, because Prosperous Gold Mine was attached to Holy Tree Secret Land, to ensure the gold mine's normal operation and maintain the crucial resource of 'wealth'—thus, the fact was, Holy Tree Secret Land often didn't function, yielding only a ager 1 Water Elent weekly.
Fortunately, his Water Elent Cards only included Char, and he had no Green Cards, so he wasn't extrely worried for now. But according to Tu n, Nature Cards contained the best summoning creatures among all cards, Char realized he would face this problem sooner or later.
