Kevan put his hand down, as if he had figured sothing out.

Maher and Joka watched him from the side, feeling a bit distressed. No matter what, Kevan was still their companion. For the young ones, this separation seed sowhat cruel. They had all thought about it: if Kevan couldn't leave, they would stay.

At worst, none of them would get out.

Maher even thought darkly that perhaps Brand would also stay. He had seen the young man's difficult choice. If such a big shot—Brand had already fully t the standard of a big shot in his heart—stayed here with him, then what was the big deal if they all stayed?

But Kevan remained silent. The skinny boy was quiet for a mont, as if he had made so sort of determination.

He stood up, raised the card in his hand again, and then threw it far away. "Sir, catch it!" Kevan looked at Brand and shouted with all his might.

Brand turned around, looking over with surprise.

"Are you crazy?" Maher was completely stunned by Kevan's actions.

But a satisfied smile appeared on the skinny boy's face—a smile filled with ambition and yearning, impossible to see on soone of his status. At that mont, he no longer seed like a re mining boy but a ruler in his own right.

Brand looked at him in confusion.

Kevan smiled faintly and stood up straight: "Sir, during my ti as an apprentice, I learned one thing. I know that in the eyes of big shots like you, the lives of people like us are insignificant..."

He shook his head. "But I think that even people as insignificant as us have the chance to change our destiny. Perhaps I can't do it, but at least just now, I realized I have the opportunity to change the destiny of a big shot like you."

His words made everyone breathless, wondering if this kid was crazy.

But Kevan was not mad. He began to cough, and only with the help of the girl behind him did he manage to calm down and continue speaking: "I don't know what this card will bring you, but if it brings you good luck and helps you escape from here, then, Lord, there will be a part of in your legendary story—won't there?"

Brand was stunned. What kind of theory was this?

For the first ti, he reassessed this boy, filled with amazent. He didn't know how to evaluate this kind of thinking, which was filled with the madness of a gambler but also a trace of admiration.

Free-spirited admiration.

But why did the other side have such high hopes for him? Brand was puzzled and couldn't help but ask, "This card is indeed significant to , but even if I get it, I still can't change the fate of failure. If I say this—you regret it?"

Brand looked in that direction, openly sharing his predicant.

Hearing this, Yuta and Qian were also stunned; they held their breath simultaneously.

"Wait, kid, you..." It was then that Kulan realized.

But Kevan was not surprised. The boy smiled, "Yes, but as long as you take that card, you've accepted my goodwill, haven't you?" He added, "Besides, your words have just proven my thoughts. As for the outco, I don't care."

"Kevan..." Joka and Maher were stunned as well. It was as if they were eting their companion for the first ti. But for so reason, at this mont, the young ones felt both a sense of distance and unfamiliar concern for their companion, yet also a faint sense of high admiration.

In the previous challenges, Brand had already left them with an impression of invincibility. At this mont, however, Kevan seed to be on par with him in terms of aura.

This was beyond their imagination.

Brand listened to Kevan's response and fell silent. He thought that soone with such thoughts was either a madman or truly an extraordinary person. But this boy, nad Kevan, didn't seem like a madman or anything extraordinary.

But wait—

"What's your na?" Brand suddenly asked.

"Kevan Kvana. My surna was given to by my ntor," the boy replied.

Kvana Lord, it really is that kid, Brand realized! Historically, Kvana did indeed grow up in the countryside of Tonyger during his youth, but he hadn't expected it to be in these mines.
