"He's trying to show us goodwill," Macaro replied succinctly.

"Interesting," Count Violet smiled. That young man, though impulsive in his actions, was not reckless; indeed, he was quite intriguing. And the timing of sending this letter couldn't have been more perfect, which he found truly delightful.

It was clearly not a coincidence.

Count Bali raised his head and glanced at Macaro beside him, thinking that this old fox must have noticed it too. But what exactly did the other party want?

If he sought tangible support—relying solely on a note that barely qualified as an Oath of Alliance seed rather naive. The person who sent such a letter wouldn't be that childish.

But if all he wanted was a pledge from the Royalists and the Princess's faction, then how did he plan to resolve the subsequent real crises?

re words wouldn't withstand thousands of troops—

Count Violet suddenly felt a great curiosity. This young man's act was like walking on a tightrope, dangerous yet thrilling. But what intrigued him most was that for the first ti, he couldn't foresee the outco of a situation.

Interesting.

"He rely wants us to shield him from the storm," Liwu frowned. "There's no such thing as a free lunch, Your Highness. If we agree to help him, we will greatly offend Count Jandener."

Princess Griffine frowned. The na Count Jandener didn't signify a reliable ally to her; he was more like a knife hanging behind her back.

But this old fox still hadn't shown his stance. As her teacher said, if she instead pushed him to the Crown Prince's side, that would be very unwise.

"Hmph, an old fox," the Half-Elf Girl rubbed her forehead irritably.

"I don't think that young man would be unaware of this," Macaro thought for a mont and then interjected, "He must know who weighs more in our minds—him or Count Jandener."

"Lord Macaro, you an—" Princess Griffine pondered slightly, her silver eyes glinting. She stared at the letter on the desk.

"If that's the case, then why did he still send this letter?" Macaro retorted, "I don't think it's to mock our intelligence—"

This playful remark made Count Violet smile slightly.

Princess Griffine's expression also softened a bit.

Only Liwu snorted softly.

"Indeed, seeking shelter has two anings," Count Bali quite agreed with Macaro's view, "I think this young man's goodwill is not about seeking patronage. He is fully aware of his identity."

"Then what does he want?" Master Li Wuze's snow-white eyebrows twitched slightly, sowhat puzzled. Although he was the Chief Court Magician of Erune, he spent his whole life delving into advanced magic techniques and lacked understanding of noble conflicts.

"What he wants is already clearly written in his letter, isn't it?" Count Violet smiled faintly.

Though Master Liwu wasn't good at reading minds, being wise enough to reach this point on the path of a wizard, he quickly understood with a slight nudge: "You an, he hopes we acknowledge his statents?"

He frowned. Though he didn't have a good impression of that young man, he had to admit, if this could earn the other party's goodwill, then it was a worthwhile investnt.

The old wizard understood his position—he was first the court mage of Erune, tutor to this Half-Elf Princess, and then a wizard nad Liwu. Personal likes and dislikes had to be set aside for the group's interests.

"No need to acknowledge, tacit approval is enough." Macaro was the clearest about Brand's intent among the group: "This young man's goal is clear, targeting Count Jandener, but he wants to avoid provoking everyone into a collective assault."

"But his actions already challenge all nobles. No one has ever dared to seize the territory of a legitimate noble. This precedent—" The old man worriedly shook his head.

"This young man didn't seize it," Count Bali shook his head, saying with slight amusent.

Macaro glanced at him, curious why the usually impartial Count Violet was leaning towards that young man. However, he still replied: "It depends on how others interpret it. Most importantly, it matters how we interpret it. Sotis, an excuse and blatant confrontation are two entirely different matters," Macaro answered, "His letter ntioned a Magic Stone that records information. Has Your Highness seen it?"
