But what connection could a small noble from Erune have with the Druids?

Veronica couldn't fathom it. She gently shook her head and replied coldly, "This is a grudge between us Cruz and Erune, and I hope you won't interfere."

The atmosphere cooled imdiately as soon as this commander of the Blue Sky Legion spoke.

"A personal grudge?" The Druid frowned, shaking his head, "I don't care what grievances you have, for whatever reason, you are not allowed to make a move on him here."

He paused, "But in consideration of the friendship of the King of Flas, we can overlook what happened before. However, if the Cruz Empire is arrogant enough to cause trouble here, don't bla us for being rude."

"Rude?" Veronica sneered, "How do you plan on being rude?" Her tone was icy, and even if all three Great Druids from the Green Tower attacked together, they might not be her match.

"In other words, Commander Veronica, are you determined to start a war?"

War. The black-haired youth standing nearby raised an eyebrow. A war with the Druids was no joke; it could easily escalate into another Holy War.

Faina's eyes widened in disbelief, "You're willing to start a war with the Cruz people for an Eruein person?"

"No," the Druids shook their heads, "you misunderstood. It's for the most esteed guest of our Druids."

The most esteed guest of the Druids.

What kind of title was that?

Apart from Elrant, it seed the Druids had never used such a term for anyone from the outside world. When did they beco so closely connected with the outside world?

Everyone exchanged glances, their strange looks falling on Brand.

These words even silenced Veronica. The Druids could indeed be serious, as she had to take a step back and replied, "Alright, so what about this little guy injuring my people?"

"An injury, what happened?" The Druid elder turned back to ask Brand.

"Let their people explain," Brand gestured magnanimously to Faina, who was tied up, but it wasn't out of genuine magnanimity. The Druids, upon seeing the noble girl entangled in thorns, already understood most of the situation.

In the Peace Barrier, whoever makes the first move will be the first to be attacked, limiting their ability to act. Although so people can ignore this rule, not everyone has the formidable strength of Veronica.

Veronica obviously realized this too and cursed the little fox under her breath. But to be fair, Veronica found herself admiring the young man sowhat — calm and intelligent, not overbearing, and crucially, possessing such outstanding talent.

She couldn't help but glance at Brand, thinking how great it would be if this little guy were a Cruz.

"Faina, go ahead and explain," she said softly, looking at the tied-up girl.

The female Commander of the Blue Sky Legion figured that the situation had progressed to this point, and there was no need to hide anything. She was well aware of the whole story but had to represent the Empire's authority here.

Initially, Brand thought this ill-tempered noble daughter might embellish the entire event with oil to gain sympathy, which would play right into his hands. But to his surprise, she didn't lie, angrily recounting the incident plainly.

As she spoke, she raised an eyebrow at Brand, seemingly indicating — for such a trivial matter, this lady doesn't need to lie — plebeian!

Of course, whenever Brand was ntioned, she harshly disparaged the young lord from Erune, calling him a bumpkin from Erune, an ill-mannered fellow, and a man lacking in discernnt, to the point where veins bulged on Brand's forehead.

However, once the Druids learned the full story, things beca easier to resolve. The Cruz Empire, being in the wrong, gained nothing in the subsequent scuffle, and after compensating the centaur innkeeper for his losses, the Empire's knights had to carry the severely injured Count Karlun out, dejected.

The feeling was just like over a hundred years ago, when the Cruz Empire had been utterly defeated by the Hazellians, and those knights from the Highland Army left the sorrowful place one by one, the white tassels on their helts hanging listlessly over their shoulder armor.
