The black forest stretched to the horizon like waves under the night sky, with wolf howls echoing back and forth within it.

The howls grew closer and closer, and the air seed to be filled with the low, growling roars of those snarling beasts as dark creatures moved through the woods. Occasionally, they stopped, lifted their heads, and sharply sniffed out the scent of life, their hard noses shrouded in white mist in the cold air.

A red glow appeared in the darkness, followed by small, scattered crimson lights, densely connecting into a seemingly endless sea.

The young n gasped, and the Erune Nobles who hadn't managed to leave turned pale.

"Prepare for battle!" Count Oting knew they couldn't leave under these circumstances. The general made a swift decision and imdiately commanded his knights.

anwhile, Brand's young n had already ford their formation.

"Hold the formation!" soone shouted.

Brand turned his head to see the captains of each group maintaining the queue. Most young n appeared slightly pale, but the captains were performing quite well. Though not entirely composed, they remained calm and steady.

"Use the long spears first!" Kulan shouted on the young n's side. "Quick, pick up the long spears!"

An instant long spear phalanx appeared in the open space.

"Level the spears! Level them!"

"Spread the formation a bit!" The shouts of group captains echoed continuously.

The spears gradually leveled out—the sharp blades reflected the golden glow of the bonfire, flickering slightly as if the tips extended forward. The wolf pack halted, suddenly stopping in their tracks, and the ocean of red lights abruptly cald down.

"They want to probe." Kulan inspected the formation of the young n with his sword before returning and saying.

Brand nodded and threw a red glow towards Kulan. "Catch!" The old swordsman was startled and subconsciously caught the glow. When he opened his palm, he found a vial full of fluorescent, blood-red potion, etched with sealing secret text, quietly resting inside it.

"Drink it."

"What is this?"

"Dragon Power Potion," Brand replied.

Kulan pinched the Dragon Power Potion between his thumb and forefinger, shook it, and said, "I've used this stuff before, and it only works the first ti, right?"

"The junk you used refined from Dragon Blood Moss doesn't deserve to be called Dragon Power Potion. It should be called Bull Power Potion at best. Drink this; let show you the true power of a real Dragon Power Potion." Brand replied dismissively. The one he threw to Kulan was an advanced product refined from real dragon blood, purchased in the Green Tower, though it was sub-dragon blood, it surpassed the blood of a Five-headed Lizard.

Brand had refined a total of one hundred Advanced Dragon Power Potions with sub-dragon blood, more than enough for his various combat forces apart from the young n—unfortunately, cards cannot use any items or potions outside the card.

More potions had been refined from the blood of the Five-headed Lizard, a portion of which Brand planned to use on the White Lion Legion in the future, and another portion on the Cave Dwellers Heavy Armor Assault Soldier, as well as to bribe and placate Tajib, making this guy more loyal.

Kulan looked at the Dragon Blood Potion in his hand, hesitatingly drank it, and then his expression changed drastically as he stared at Brand in disbelief.

"This...this is..."

Brand smiled slightly, not replying but instead raising his head to look at the front line.

His young n gripped the long spears tightly, nervously forming a defensive formation. The knights of the Erune Envoy entered their left flank in unison, while Fire Claw Lizards, under Ropa's command, took the right wing—

"Left wing ready!" On the front line, the Knight Captain reported to Count Oting.

Lopar laid down his double-headed sword and also entered the formation.

"Lord!" Caglis and the first group's leader Jenos both turned their heads.

Brand looked at the two of them. Jenos was a young man with short, ash-golden hair. He was the leader of the first group, the son of a tanner, but now he had acquired so semblance of a military deanor.

Brand pointed to his chest and nodded at them.

Jenos imdiately caught on, took a deep breath, and turned around, but then soone on the side spoke to him in a teasing voice: "Yo, even the tanner's son wants to fight alongside us?"
