Across the entire Vorn, there have been many legendary figures known to players, including so renowned Great Sword Saints, such as Veronica, known as the Valkyrie, or Earth Sword Saint Darius, who could split mountains with a single sword stroke, and even Bujia, who is obscure in this era but will be a Great Sword Master famous in the future.
There are also legendary Wizards, like Silver Castle Turalan, the King of Scrolls William, and the Iron lter Kela.
Or unrivaled genius generals, such as Black Lord Instarlon, the Hawk Nicholas, Lord Long Blade Halson, and Valkyrie Frey.
However, among these people, none were as revered as Gray Sword Saint phisto.
The reason was simple.
Being the only one in the Vorn World daring enough to declare war on an entire empire single-handedly, this bravado alone was enough to win anyone's admiration.
Brand recalls that it was roughly thirty years ago in history when the once invincible Cruz people, after a series of victories, completely crushed all resistance forces of a small nation called the Sutherland Duchy, as usual, incorporating this border country into the empire's territory.
In the thousand-year war history of the Cruz, this seed rely a tiny node, which should have been insignificant.
But this ti, the empire of the Eagle encountered a vexing enemy.
In the Year of the Howl, Gray Sword Saint phisto appeared in the Cruz people's view. His first appearance was in the battle of the Royal Capital of Cruz, where he single-handedly attempted to assassinate the supre ruler of the empire.
Of course, he failed.
However, in this battle, phisto single-handedly annihilated an entire Forbidden Army Cavalry Battalion of the Cruz, as well as a Border Guard Battalion and two squads of the Capital Guard Team.
Three Viscounts, one Earl, over twenty Lieutenants, and thrice that number of Candidacy Officer Cadets from the Imperial Officer Academy perished at the hands of this Gray Sword Saint.
If the casualties of three Viscounts and one Earl only caused the empire to feel humiliated, then the deaths of those two squads of Candidacy Officer Cadets truly enraged the supre ruler of the ti.
The Candidacy Officer Cadets of the Capital Guard Team were undoubtedly elites of the empire, future pillars of talent, unexpectedly wiped out by phisto to the extent of two squads, causing even the resource-rich empire of the Cruz to feel the pain deeply.
What happened next was beyond anyone's expectations.
The empire, in a fit of rage, dispatched the most formidable capture team ever, including the commanders of the four major legions, the head of the Royal Alchemist Association, and even three Royal Mages from the Star and Moon Tower.
As for how strong this lineup was, you only needed to know that Veronica, the commander of the Green Sky legion, was considered the least experienced among them to imagine the kind of monstrous group this team was.
Yet, even with this lineup, phisto managed to escape, albeit severely injured.
This not only cost the Cruz people their dignity but could be said to have dealt a heavy blow across the once arrogant face of the Cruz over the centuries and stirred great upheaval in the entire Vorn.
The developnts that followed involved the Wind Queen Temple and the Holy Temple Force making every effort to find phisto, attempting to leverage his hatred of the Cruz to have him join their ranks, but alas, since then, the man seed to have vanished, never seen again.
There were rumors that he died of his injuries, but of course, Brand knew that was a joke, as phisto later played a significant role in the Amber Sword series, where players beca extrely familiar with this perverse character.
What Brand never imagined was that this guy would show up here early.
Historically, his next appearance wasn't until about five years later!
Thus, upon seeing phisto, only one thought crossed Brand's mind: does the Lion Heart Sword have such an attraction that it even drew this old pervert?
Brand was dumbfounded as he stared at the man before him, feeling that if he could pop his eyes out in amazent, he surely would have done it.
At this mont, phisto was wearing a gray robe with a cloak, the sword still slung over his back. What stood out most about him were his gray hair and gray pupils.
