"Knowing full well that you’re no match for , yet you still resist? Isn’t that foolish?" The Gray Sword Saint grasped the sword hilt in his right hand, resting the giant sword on his shoulder, and looked at Brand, saying.

Otarais smiled slightly, "Though Your Excellency’s swordsmanship is supre, you lack foresight."

The change in Brand’s tone montarily startled phisto, but this suspicion, like a dragonfly skimming the surface of a lake, was fleeting. "Even so, do you still claim you’re not Cruz people?"

"Whether I am or not will soon be clear."

"What, planning to escape?" phisto glanced at him.

Otarais — Brand gave a slight smile. "Antitina." She spoke softly to the one behind her, her voice as thin as a hair.

"Mm."

"Travel north along this valley. Wait for at the Holy White Stone."

"Holy White Stone?"

"You’ll recognize it by the white stone."

Antitina looked at her lord, nodded with partial understanding, and didn’t ask further questions. phisto, standing not far away, watched their conversation and slightly loosened and then tightened his grip on the sword hilt. With his perception, it wasn’t impossible for him to capture this exchange, but he thought that even if Brand wanted to run, he wouldn’t get far.

Moreover, his main target was Veronica; as long as Brand remained under his control, that was sufficient.

"Clever trick." The Gray Sword Saint watched this scene in silence, his pale, slender fingers slightly releasing the grip on the sword hilt.

Brand told Otarais about a rest point from a past ga. In the Black Forest, places similar to the Holy White Rock and the Holy Spring were the most stable areas of order, essentially places the ga designers provided for players to rest. There were three rest stops behind Wolf Pass during the Wolf Calamity mission, the nearest one not too far away.

After speaking with Antitina, Otarais turned back and raised the sword in her hand.

"Oh?" phisto observed her—him, asking, "Ready?"

"Your Excellency is quite confident, are you?" This line was Otarais’s retort, with phisto’s arrogance apparently igniting the pride of this heroic spirit from the Ancient Era.

The Gray Sword Saint did not reply. He put down the giant sword in his hand, pointing it at Otarais—Brand as his response.

Try it if you dare—that was the implication of this gesture.

Otarais snorted lightly through her nose with a distinctive pride, flicking the sword in her hand downward. Then, six streams of green currents rose behind her like wings.

"What is that!" phisto’s expression changed—Wind Elf combat skills, Sky Patrol. Otarais leaped back slightly, her entire being gliding backward like an apparition. The speed was not fast—but that was an illusion, as the trail of deceptive afterimages she left behind while retreating proved.

In the eyes of the onlookers, the young lord seed to be right in front of them, yet in a blink, she had reached the forest’s edge. The Gray Sword Saint snorted coldly, his figure transforming into a black dragon in pursuit, slightly slower, leading this chase to turn into a contest of endurance.

At the forest’s edge, Otarais changed direction and plunged into the forest. "Which direction?" she asked.

"A mile or two is enough."

"That’s quite far, little one." Otarais flapped the wings on her back, gliding among the towering trees. She looked back; even with phisto wielding the giant sword lagging, it was only by a step.

The Gray Sword Saint was very slow, but that was only relatively speaking.

"If you can use that move to block him montarily, there won’t be an issue," she suggested.

"No, there’s no way to do it; using the Holy Sword Skill requires conditions." Brand led the group through Thorny Ridge, spending most of the day, but in fact, only in the initial two hours did the Holy Sword remain active, as his Earth Elent Pool had long since depleted.

Their dialogue was but an instant, as phisto from behind had already launched an attack.

He thrust the giant sword forward, three strands of sword qi like white ribbons tracing a graceful arc toward Otarais. The female knight dodged behind a gigantic tree, allowing the three strands of sword qi to strike the broad trunk that took several people to encircle. The sword qi advanced into the trunk like an axe, wood chips flying, and the giant tree crashed down thunderously.

Otarais quickly leaped aside to avoid the cracking branches pressing down. "Charge," Brand reminded.

"Idiot, in this level of clash, a straight line will be anticipated."

"Don’t worry."

The two continued to exchange ideas via telepathy.

anwhile, phisto was listening intently to the rustle of the surrounding wind; Otarais was concealed by the fallen tree’s canopy, leaving him temporarily unable to pinpoint her exact location.
