The process of discovering a treasure's 'effect' and 'activation spell' is referred to as an 'identification' in the Amber Room. The identification spell is indeed akin to the vocation of Demon Swordsn and Spell Knights.
For Demon Swordsn are not swordsn using magic—though they know magic, their true strength lies in analyzing magic to counter wizards. Their expertise generally lies in anti-magic rather than magic itself.

However, All Things Concealing is far stronger. At least Brand knew this thing had a simple use, which is to pass through walls. Because, in the concealing state, 'walls' existing in this world are nonexistent to the subject.
