"Alright, little fellow," Veronica gazed at Brand with erald green eyes. Having obtained the answer she wanted from Brand, she now spoke with less evident purpose: "I'll go check the west first then. Of course, if I find anything, I'll notify you, 'Little Lord,' first." She said with a mischievous smile.
Brand tugged at the corner of his mouth. For so reason, Veronica seed to harbor an inexplicable tolerance towards him, often teasing him with a few words. However, setting aside her identity as a Cruz person, her manner of dealing with matters was enough to earn his respect. Moreover, maintaining a private relationship with a high-ranking Countess of the Empire was beneficial to him; though, from a national perspective, they were destined to sche against each other.
"As long as there are sufficient common interests, it's enough for now." Brand needed a breather to develop and grow. The agreent reached with Veronica at present could possibly help him achieve that. In essence, both obtained their most satisfactory results, resulting in a rather amiable cooperation.
At this mont, the Empire's Commander had already casually left the plaza with the little princess of the Flower Leaf Domain. Before leaving, Brand saw her stop beside phisto and exchange so words, causing the renowned Gray Sword Saint to glance back at him.
Andesa, too, was naturally escorted away, leaving only a few of them in the plaza for the ti being. Funiya had been quietly holding his hand since earlier. Her nature had always been calm, and Brand squatted down to help wipe the dust off her sowhat grimy face, looking properly at this little girl with hair cascading like vines down to her ankles. He suddenly worried whether she'd grow up to beco like Qian.
Though being expressionless is considered endearing, Qian's psychological state had always been a concern for Brand. He looked back at the red-haired girl. His peculiar gaze was so strange that even Qian found it odd, pondering with furrowed brows whether there was sothing dirty on her face, wondering why the Lord was staring at her so intently?
Could it be that he also wanted to help clean her face? She recalled the scene of Brand carefully cleaning the little girl's face beside Funiya and couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy, unsure whether to accept or reject.
But Brand had only gazed at her for a mont longer. The plaza still had Anman's corpse; that was what interested him. Anman was dead, completely annihilated, so he had no hope for spoils of war from this fallen Priest—though Brand knew that soone of Anman's stature was likely to have gathered many good things, at least that equipnt allowing him to cast high-level defense divine skills instantly in the ga would be imnsely valuable. However, the Chaotic Power from the Annihilation Black Hole, with its attribute of the Law of Annihilation, couldn't even be withstood by equipnt at the level of Sky Blue, let alone others—but regret was aningless, as he couldn't control the previous situation. Fortunately, not all was lost; at least Brand confird that one thing would surely remain.

A deep, unfathomable pit now lay where the Annihilation Black Hole's destruction occurred, smoky at the bottom, eerily silent around. Without the usual scene of players scrambling for equipnt after a BOSS battle, Brand genuinely felt a bit unaccustod. He gingerly made his way to the bottom of the pit, soon noticing sothing caught his eye. Amidst the black smoke at the bottom, a mass of black light hovered mid-air, and although Brand had not seen the fragnt of the Book of Mavikart, he recognized it imdiately.
A Divine Artifact is far superior to ordinary equipnt. Even in its damaged state, the Law Threads embedded during its forging would remain, and that mass of black light was pure remnants of the Law: Chaos, Entropy, Free Power. In fact, fragnts left by all advanced equipnt appear similar.
As he approached, a powerful aura hit him directly. Brand wasn't yet sure how to handle this thing, as in the ga, he rarely had opportunities to deal with such high-level items alone. Although it was considered a material, the free Laws were notably difficult to manage. Without having a physical form, these couldn't even be stored in a backpack, except using sothing like a Dinsion Bag—but since crossing over, Brand had yet to encounter any item with a Dinsion Attribute.
