Hardesh had been through several lords' battles. In this era, battles between lords were usually very bloody, even though the nobles often weren't really hard—except for the unlucky ones hit by stray arrows—but the wear and tear on the private soldiers and knights underneath was very severe. Only those who survived a battle could be called skilled warriors, and people like him, who had been through several battles, had no regard for those who couldn't even hold a sword. No matter how many such people ca, they'd be useless.
However, for a lord, having truly reliable knights usually ant having only about a hundred or so, no more. First of all, they couldn't afford to maintain more; a professional soldier required a substantial amount of resources, not to ntion seasoned knights. Secondly, there weren't that many talented individuals; the lure of a small lord was often no match for powerful figures like Count Rangdenier, with whom any slightly capable knight would want to align. To claim having over a hundred armored soldiers was enough to call a lord very strong. Like Baron Gruding, at most he had only around a hundred reliable n.
But Brand was an exception.
Because all of his talents were gathered by chance, coming from among the mountain people and even rcenaries from more distant regions. Although these rcenaries had not experienced real wars, they had struggled and fought in bloody battles for years, and those who survived often had a keener sense for combat than ordinary military personnel.
Among them, the rcenaries under the leadership of Yuta, Fern, and Crenxia were particularly outstanding. Especially Fern's subordinates, who were mostly forr Erune Cavalry from the Karensu Plateau, being scouts made them elite. After undergoing the baptism of fire and blood, their personal capabilities were significantly higher than other rcenaries.
But this wasn't the strongest aspect, as there was the existence of the gang of the Red Copper Dragon Reto. These individuals weren't particularly strong, with the best among them lingering around the Black Iron Peak, but their combat experience was incredibly rich. Brand had long suspected these guys' identities. Especially given Reto's identity right there, he highly suspected if these veterans were all from the November War.
This conclusion was sowhat frightening, yet seed the most reliable guess. Those seasoned rcenaries made up nearly two-thirds of Brand's human force, besides there were mbers originating from Buqi and Ridenburg's original Guard Team and patrol cavalry, who also had faced Madara.
The last part consisted of knights following Sir Min Tai who had defected with Caglis, along with newly recruited soldiers. Brand now commanded approximately two thousand, nearing three thousand human soldiers, but of those more than two thousand, over eighty percent were true veterans, warriors as experienced and seasoned as official knights who had honed their battle arts for years.
Outsiders thought that these so-called 'Rebel Army' of Tonyger were just two or three thousand ragtag individuals, but Hardesh understood clearly that the young lord actually commanded over two thousand knights. Two thousand knights, by Martha, two thousand knights could lead an army of over a hundred thousand.
When Forr King Ai Ke founded the nation, he had only two hundred knights following him.
"There's movent in the forest." Suddenly, a voice said so behind him. Hardesh was startled and instinctively turned his head.
