"What is this!?" Farina lifted her skirt with one hand, standing on that dark pyramid. The pale light reflected the fine hairs on her youthful face as she suddenly asked.

Beside her hand was a staff, a black tallic staff, approximately the thickness of an arm, inserted in the massive crystal opposite the base below, with a transparent crystal orb affixed atop it.

Brand was certain that this thing absolutely did not exist there before. He patted Qian's hand; the girl's question was sothing he and Otarais had already guessed almost accurately. As long as Dragon Blood itself was not inherently harmful, it could temporarily be set aside. The threat of the dragon clan girl Anoz was still relatively faint for now.

He and the others walked up to check out the staff. Gold patterns adorned the black shaft of the staff, resembling aningless tallic lines. This style was identical to that of the hall, carrying a flavor of an ancient era. The crystal ball was firmly fixed to the shaft, even with force it couldn't be removed. Brand's strength at this mont was at least equivalent to seven or eight grown n, yet when he tried it, the thing didn't budge, signifying that the connection between the crystal ball and the staff might not be physical.

There might be magic at play below.

Upon seeing this thing, Brand imdiately had a guess. He glanced at the others, then placed his hand on the crystal orb. Instantly, layers of green light webs interwove before his eyes, scanning up and down in about a cubic ter area in front of him, forming patterns filled with mysterious colors.

"So that's what it is," a thought stirred in Brand's heart.

"What is it?" Veronica asked from the side.

"It's the core of this underground city," Brand replied.

"Oh, so it's a central crystal. There's a similar crystal in the Grey City fortress of the Wind Elf, crafted by Bujia's wizard, used to control the exterior defense system," the female war god realized.

Brand knew of the Grey City fortress crystal, but that crystal was just a replica of the true central crystal. Bujia's craftsman wizards made many of these replicas, sold to players for ten thousand gold coins (about one million Thor) each. However, the replica crystal was far inferior to the genuine article.

A row of ancient texts interwoven before Brand, forming:

"Stao cu...d oaa s...A'rtee s..." (External Holy Temple...request...interrupted, damaged...)

"Dum cu...d oaa s...A'rtee s..." (Dawn...Cavalry...Holy Temple, request...interrupted...)

"Pos'ssa...d oaa s...A'rtee s..." (Market District..., request...interrupted...)

...

The ancient language was extrely complex. This type of phonetic character was particularly prevalent around 20,000 years ago, seemingly erupting suddenly at so point, spreading across the entire continent. But that era has long been buried in the sands of ti, and Brand could only painstakingly decipher these characters, thanks to his prior experience with nurous ancient scripts.

The ancient language in Amber Sword was self-contained, previously referred to as a miracle. Many players researched it; large imperial libraries contained systematic archaeological investigations into ancient history and languages. This vast and complex world background was once what they relished most.

But as the characters grew more complex, countless characters ford a green stream of light, cascading down like a waterfall before Brand's eyes. However, unlike before, at this mont, everyone could see the green webs forming on the crystal orb. Besides symbols they almost couldn't recognize, the light web quickly, under Brand's cue, ford layer upon layer of patterns.

"This is the panorama of the underground city!" As layer upon layer of green light stabilized, Veronica's eyes flashed with a peculiar light. The images projected by the crystal were indeed the panorama of this underground city, showing the three-layer defense line distributed like shattered glass, and below was a spider-web-like city layout, with large and small underground halls presented in a three-dinsional form in mid-air, seeming like a galaxy map.

She couldn't help but turn back, her green eyes fixed on Brand: "This is the panorama of this 'city'... could it be that this central crystal can control the whole city?"

Brand took a deep breath and nodded. He couldn't help but feel a bit excited to the point of exhilaration, but not because of what Veronica said. The ancient central crystal was inherently the core and brain of the city, a basic common sense for a player. He was excited from the knowledge gained from those texts. So that's it, so this is the foundation for Valhalla being called a legendary territory.
