The sa boiler room glowed with that sickly red light.

Freddy paced back and forth, claws scraping sparks off the rusted pipes.

"Goddamn it. Goddamn it!"

His burned face twisted even uglier.

"How the hell does everyone suddenly have protection against ? Is holy water that cheap now? You can just hand it out like tap water?"

The thought of Luke made his teeth grind.

Not only had the ranger wasted his entire night, he'd also chopped Freddy's brand-new helper into pieces like a science project.

Complete humiliation.

Useless. Absolutely useless.

Then a sly glint appeared in Freddy's eyes.

The at might be gone, but the soul was still there.

A soul soaked in decades of rage and hatred would make a perfect snack.

Since the living prey was off-limits for now, he might as well start with his so-called partner.

Freddy grinned and slashed his claws through the air.

The dream space rippled. A massive figure was ripped out of the void and dropped into the boiler room.

Jason's soul now stood before him.

He looked confused, head tilted, completely unresponsive to his surroundings.

"Hey, big guy. Looks like your trip to the real world didn't go so well."

Freddy strolled closer, voice dripping with fake sympathy.

"Don't worry. Your suffering's about to end. I'll put what's left of you to good use."

He reached out with his claws, aiming straight for Jason's chest to devour the soul.

Before he could touch it, a huge hand shot out and clamped around his wrist like a steel trap.

"What the—?"

Freddy's grin died instantly. He stared at Jason in shock.

At so point Jason had lifted his head. Those empty eyes behind the mask were now locked directly on him.

"You can still move?!"

Freddy felt a spike of real fear. He'd assud Jason's soul would be weak and helpless after the body was destroyed.

He quickly changed tactics, switching to a friendly tone.

"Perfect! I knew you were fine! I already woke you up. Let's go get revenge on the guy who hurt you!"

Jason didn't react. He just kept staring at the ugly little creature in front of him.

Freddy's skin crawled. He waved his other hand in front of Jason's face, trying to hide his panic.

"Hey, big guy, you deaf? I'm the one who pulled you out of that lake!"

Jason moved without warning.

He ignored Freddy's chatter completely, grabbed the dream demon by the throat with his other hand, and lifted him high into the air.

Then he slamd Freddy into the ground with terrifying force.

Pain exploded through Freddy's entire body. The dream world around him shuddered violently.

The red glow vanished. Blinding white light stabbed into his eyes.

When Freddy opened them, he saw sunlight for the first ti in decades.

He was lying in the middle of a road. A pickup truck was stopped right in front of him.

Through the windshield he saw Luke's stunned face, the old lady beside him, and the two terrified teenagers in the back.

What the hell?

How did I end up in the real world?

Before he could figure it out, a loud rattling sound ca from the truck bed.

The sack containing Jason's bones burst open.

Bones flew out on their own, spinning through the air before snapping together into a complete skeleton.

Then sothing even worse happened.

Dark red flesh and sinew erupted from between the bones, twisting and weaving at impossible speed.

In seconds the full, powerful body had reford.

Finally, the blood-stained hockey mask appeared out of nowhere and settled perfectly over the new face.

Jason Voorhees was back.

He stood in the middle of the road, blocking the truck's path.

Freddy lay on the ground between Jason and the pickup, caught in the worst possible spot.

Everyone inside the truck was frozen, barely breathing.

Freddy pushed himself up and straightened his hat.

He glanced at Jason behind him, then at the stunned people in the truck, and a wide grin spread across his ruined face.

"Haha. Looks like today's my lucky day."

"Not only did fresh prey just deliver themselves, but I've got an old friend here to help."

He turned and gestured at Jason.

"Big guy, rember our deal? Ti to pay up."

"Tear those people in the truck apart."

Jason didn't move.

He simply stood there, slowly turning his head to stare at Freddy.

Freddy's smile started to crack.

"Hey. I'm talking to you, deaf-ass!"

The next second Jason exploded forward.

His massive fist rocketed straight at Freddy's face.

Freddy barely got his claws up in ti to block.

The impact was like getting hit by a truck. Freddy flew backward.

Boom!

He slamd into the front of Luke's pickup. The windshield shattered. The hood crumpled inward.

Freddy bounced off the truck and hit the ground face-first with a wet smack.

"My brand-new truck!"

Luke's roar of pure anguish filled the air.

Jason didn't stop. He reached the driver's side, ripped the door clean off, and tossed it aside like paper.

Just as he was about to grab Luke, a massive bullet slamd into his chest and knocked him back.

Luke used the opening to grab a bottle of holy water, twist the cap off, and dump the entire thing over Jason's head.

Black smoke hissed upward. Jason staggered backward, burning.

Luke snatched the shotgun and opened fire.

While Luke and Jason traded blows, Freddy climbed to his feet.

He took one look at the fight and grinned. Ti to sit back and let them wear each other out.

Then he felt dozens of eyes on his back.

He turned around.

Dozens of empty-eyed zombies stood in the street, all staring straight at him.

The next mont they charged as one.

"Fresh soul just walked right into my hands."

Freddy laughed and rushed to et them, claws flashing.

Two zombies were sliced clean in half. Blue-green liquid sprayed into the air.

Freddy opened his mouth wide, ready to drink it in.

The liquid hit his tongue and tasted like rotten garbage.

"Pfft! What the fuck is this?! This isn't blood!"

Freddy stared in disbelief at the blue-green pus covering his claws.

Then he looked at the zombies on the ground.

They were still moving.
