Luke sprinted through the manor, hot on Leatherface's heels. The big man knew every inch of the house and moved with surprising speed for his size, ducking down narrow hallways and taking sharp turns.

Luke nearly face-planted into a wall at one corner. By the ti he recovered, Leatherface had vanished.

"Son of a bitch," Luke muttered.

He was about to keep going when Lionel's voice called from behind.

"Wait up!"

Luke turned and saw Lionel jogging toward him—chainsaw still buried in his chest, leaving a long trail of blood behind him. The sight was equal parts horrifying and ridiculous.

"You gonna pull that thing out first?" Luke asked.

Lionel looked down at the smoking chainsaw sticking out of his torso and hesitated.

"Will it bleed if I do?"

"You're already bleeding, genius."

Luke pointed at the red streak on the floor. Lionel finally noticed and tried to reach behind his back, but his arms were too short. After a few failed attempts he gave up.

"Help get it out."

Luke sighed, grabbed the handle, and yanked hard.

Shhhrrrip!

The chainsaw ca free with a wet tearing sound, bringing chunks of at with it. Lionel stared at the gaping hole in his chest and clicked his tongue.

"Gonna need a hell of a lot of food to fix that."

Luke glanced at the shredded at on the floor. "Pick it up. Maybe you can stuff it back in later."

Lionel's eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! Why didn't I think of that?"

While Lionel scooped the bits into his pockets, Luke tested the chainsaw's weight. The blade had been heavily modified—razor sharp and clearly custom-built.

"This thing's actually pretty nice. I'm keeping it."

He slung the chainsaw over his shoulder and kept walking.

They found the others a minute later. Nikki had woken up and was clinging to Heather, dramatically describing the chainsaw scene. The second she turned and saw Lionel strolling in with a massive hole in his chest, her eyes rolled back and she fainted again.

Rayne just stood there, finger trembling as he pointed at the wound, completely speechless.

Brando was the first to move. He circled Lionel with wide-eyed fascination, muttering like a kid at a science fair.

"Incredible… absolutely incredible! By all dical logic you should be dead. How do you feel right now?"

Lionel shrugged. "Nothing. I shut off the pain. Just feels like there's a draft in my chest."

Luke stepped forward, voice serious. "Did you curse him? Can you still track him?"

Lionel nodded and closed his eyes. A mont later he opened them and pointed down the hallway.

"He's still in the house… getting closer. He's right behind that door!"

The heavy door at the end of the hall suddenly exploded inward.

Leatherface charged out holding a fresh chainsaw, roaring.

Luke didn't hesitate. He revved his own stolen chainsaw and t the charge head-on.

Leatherface paused for half a second when he saw Luke carrying his own weapon, clearly confused. Then he lunged.

Clang! Clang!

The two spinning chains clashed in a shower of sparks. Luke felt the raw power behind every swing, but he was stronger. One hard shove sent Leatherface stumbling backward.

Luke pressed the attack, hamring the bigger man until Leatherface dropped to his knees with a heavy thud.

At the exact sa mont, Lionel also dropped to his knees with a matching thud, looking baffled.

"Cancel the damn curse already," Luke growled.

"Oh—right!"

Lionel frantically wiped at the dried black blood on his face, but it was stuck. He yelled at Brando, "Water! Give so water!"

Brando fumbled a bottle over. Lionel scrubbed his face until the symbols washed away and the link finally broke.

With the curse gone, Luke stopped holding back.

He sidestepped Leatherface's desperate swing, slamd him to the floor, and brought the chainsaw down hard on the man's right arm.

Vrrrrrr—

A scream ripped through the entire manor as the arm ca off in a spray of black blood. Leatherface thrashed on the ground, body convulsing.

Luke stared at the thick black liquid pouring from the stump. The sight was painfully familiar.

Of course. Another one of these bastards.

He'd hoped the cult's reach wouldn't follow him all the way to Texas. Apparently they were everywhere.

Any curiosity he'd felt about keeping Leatherface alive vanished. These weren't people. They were cult-made monsters.

He turned to the stunned young people.

"All of you—get out."

They didn't argue. One look at Luke covered in blood and they hurried from the room.

Once only the three of them remained, Lionel spoke up.

"What the hell is this thing?"

Brando leaned in, clearly dying to know the full story.

Luke shut off the chainsaw and leaned on it like a cane.

"This thing," he said quietly, "is exactly why I got sent to Crystal Lake in the first place."
