Chapter 1239: Part 3: Fight against Ben (Inner Hall)

The Fighting Platform
Multiple fla slashes ca at one after another. I used my perception ability to dodge the fiery attacks.
Boom!
The fla slashes struck the platform floor one by one, each impact creating a booming sound. Shockwaves spread across the platform, hitting the barrier in a flash.
At the sa ti, I retreated to the edge of the platform. My mind raced with thoughts.
I had planned to defeat him using only my physical strength, but it was proving difficult. I was certain everyone was curious about my Ancient Inheritance.
Middle-aged Ben stopped his attacks and stared at Zack Lockwood in disbelief. He couldn’t understand how Zack had dodged every strike.
Each attack seed certain to land, but Zack evaded at the last mont, frustrating Ben imnsely.
Issac and the female warrior stood outside the platform. Initially, they were pleased that Ben had taken an offensive approach.
They had expected Zack Lockwood to respond in kind, but to their surprise, he kept dodging.
Zack appeared to be in a defensive position, which confused them. They had noticed a clear gap in brute strength earlier.
When Ben began using his Inheritance power, he seed to dominate Zack. Yet, Zack wasn’t retaliating, only dodging. The duo exchanged confused glances.
“It must be a trap. Don’t fall for it,” the female warrior said suddenly.
Issac was stunned, then nodded. It made sense. Why wasn’t Zack using his Inheritance power? He must be waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
The audience shared similar thoughts, unable to find any other logical explanation. Zack had clearly demonstrated a difference in strength earlier.

Above the platform, Dean Jero and the Purple Mark Guard watched the fight. They knew the real reason: Zack Lockwood possessed two Ancient Inheritances.
However, Jero had forbidden him from revealing either publicly. He had instructed Zack to use only his bloodline elent, the Ancient Water Variant Force.
If Zack used it, the University would be thrown into chaos. The Dew Water Faction Leader would likely renew their demands, and other Elental Factions might support them.
The Purple Mark Guard saw through this as well. That’s why he had doubted earlier whether Zack could defeat the Blazing Fire Faction warriors with physical strength alone.
“Dean, you’ve put him in a tight spot,” the Purple Mark Guard said.
Jero smiled and replied, “It’s a test for him. Let’s see how he handles it.”
He sighed inwardly. He knew it was challenging for Zack to hide his power. If other universities learned of it, they would target him with hidden attacks.
That’s why Jero had insisted on using a false Inheritance na. But he suspected the truth might co out today.
Zack would either use his bloodline power or his other Ancient Inheritance. Either way, it would cause a stir if hostile forces found out.
Jero had already heard rumors that so faction leaders and elders were skeptical of Zack’s return from Warrior Camp 424.
They had gathered information about his activities there, where Zack had shown promise as a warrior through his participation in battles.
For now, Jero wanted Zack to conceal his Ancient Inheritance power for as long as possible.
Viewing Block 1
Faction Leader Elr was full of surprises. He didn’t know Zack Lockwood’s strategy or why the kid was only dodging instead of fighting back.
“Is he planning to use his opponent as a sparring partner?” Elr wondered.
He thought it was possible. This wasn’t Zack Lockwood’s first fight.
He had battled Blazing Fire Faction warriors in the outer hall before. Elr glanced at Faction Leader Clifford, only to see the old man looking equally confused. Elr raised his eyebrows.
Turning back to the fighting platform, Elr realized the kid was acting on his own, not following instructions from his faction.
anwhile, Faction Leader Clifford felt puzzled but had a theory. He suspected Zack was hiding his Ancient Inheritance.
Clifford knew that if Zack revealed his variant water elent, it would cause a disturbance. The Faction Leader of the Dew Water Faction would not stay silent.
Suddenly, Clifford felt soone’s gaze on him. He traced it and found it was none other than Monica, the Faction Leader of the Dew Water Faction.
His heart skipped a beat. He didn’t know why she was staring at him, so he quickly looked away.
On the other hand, Monica knew the real reason. She had conversed with Dean Jero, who had warned her not to reveal the details.
Still, she believed that if Zack used his variant water elent, the elental factions would react strongly.
At the sa ti, Faction Leader Francesca sighed inwardly. She could see what Zack Lockwood was doing.
“He’s trying to avoid an inheritance clash,” she thought.
She wasn’t sure how long Zack could maintain this strategy. She knew the consequences if he used his water elent here.
“Hey, what’s wrong with the kid? Does he have so plan in mind?” Bethany asked in a sarcastic tone.
She found the situation amusing. She had expected Zack to do everything possible to defeat his opponent, but so far, he was only dodging attacks.
“Just wait and watch,” Francesca replied.
She didn’t want to say more.
Bethany shook her head and continued watching the platform.
anwhile, Faction Leader Vince was sharp. He quickly sensed sothing was off. He believed Zack was repeating the tactics from his previous duels.
In those fights, Zack had used his Inheritance power, but no one could figure out what it was. Vince thought Zack was employing the sa strategy here to win the duel.
However, this opponent was no weakling. He also possessed an Ancient Inheritance. A wide grin spread across Vince’s face.
He thought the truth would soon be revealed, and it would be entertaining to see everyone’s reactions.

The other Faction Leaders could tell sothing was amiss.
Not only were the leaders of the top ten factions present, but the leaders of the dium and small-sized factions were there as well. They were all pondering the ongoing situation.
