Shizuka Hiratsuka looked up anxiously.
She was t with Rei Ao's eyes, which were smiling mischievously.
"Shizuka, what's with that face? You look like I owe you money or sothing."
Nine parts desire, one part grievance.
"You don't owe money; you owe my 'rations!'"
Knowing she was being teased, Shizuka spoke through clenched teeth.
At the sa ti, she was secretly annoyed with herself.
All it took was seeing his hand move toward his waist, and she practically drooled like a fish taking the bait!
Did she really crave his "thing" that much?
"Rations? What rations?"
Rei Ao wore a puzzled expression.
"Shizuka, I've never even eaten at your house, and I've never eaten any of your food, so how could I possibly owe you 'rations?'"
"Of course, maybe I misunderstood what you ant. Why not explain it in detail?"
"You're playing dumb!"
"You're putting on an act!"
Shizuka ground her teeth, raising her clenched fist.
"Could you at least wipe that grin off your face before asking such ridiculous questions?"
"Heh heh. Putting on an act? I have no idea what you an, Shizuka."
Rei Ao remained unfazed.
He wanted Shizuka to say out loud what she really wanted.
He enjoyed this sort of ga.
"Rei Ao, do you just like making beg?"
"Heh heh, it's not called begging, it's called forcing. Forcing my dear Shizuka is pretty fun, but I think painting you might be even more fun."
"Then why aren't you doing it already?!"
"Aren't you the one who said you had serious business to discuss? I'm just respecting you, Shizuka…"
Round and round they went.
In the end, the conversation circled back to Shizuka's so-called "restraint," and he was still teasing her—he wasn't done yet.
"Aaaah! Damn it, I said… hurry up and do it, do it hard…!!!"
Finally, Shizuka Hiratsuka lost patience and shouted it out.
Seeing that, Rei Ao smirked in satisfaction.
"Sure thing—but only if you take the initiative."

Mai Sakurajima tracked down gumi Kato.

Logically, since he was practically famous school-wide, if he were here, there'd be a bunch of girls watching him.
gumi Kato shook her head. "Rei Ao-kun said he wasn't feeling well. He took this period off."
"Not feeling well?"
Mai was skeptical.
If it were anyone else, she'd believe it. But Rei Ao?
He's the one who can go for days in the fields, plowing everything—she just couldn't see him "not feeling well."
"I bet he's gone off to find so girl, huh?"

gumi's eyes flickered.
She more or less guessed where Rei Ao was.
He had been called away by Hiratsuka-sensei and never returned. Now he was skipping an entire period.

Just then, a petite girl with purple pigtails passing by for PE pricked up her ears at the na.
"You two know Rei Ao-kun?"

Both Mai and gumi looked at the girl, who didn't ring any bells.
"Oh, I'm Asumi Kominami from Class 3-5."
First, she introduced herself, then explained why she'd suddenly butted in:
"I just overheard you talking about Rei Ao-kun's na—he's the one in Class 3-3, right?"
"Yes. I'm gumi Kato, from Class 3-3."
Mai was still sizing her up while gumi answered.
"This is Mai Sakurajima, from Class 3-1. We're both friends of Rei Ao-kun."
"Oh!"
Aisumi's eyes lit up. "That's quite a coincidence!"
"You're also his friend?" Mai asked, frowning.
"No."
Even though she sounded excited, her answer was a shake of the head.
If she wasn't a friend, why was she joining in?
Mai thought: Is this another fangirl wanting to confess?
"Actually, Rei Ao-kun helped out once, and I've been trying to figure out how to thank him."
Seeing Mai's gaze grow more suspicious, Aisumi hurried to explain. She didn't want to be taken for so weirdo.
"So, since you two are friends of his, I wanted to ask: do you know what sorts of things he likes?"
She clasped her hands together earnestly.
For the past few days, she'd been racking her brain over how to repay him.
"…"
The two of them stayed cautious and didn't imdiately tell her anything—after all, you don't just trust soone's word right away.
They also worried she might be so extre fangirl.
Mai herself had t so fanatics before; she was lucky she hadn't been hard.
Exchanging a subtle look, Mai hinted to gumi, then said, "It's not that we don't trust you, but it's about Rei Ao-kun's privacy."
"Mm… fair enough."
Aisumi nodded understandingly.
Mai: "Maybe you can briefly tell us how Rei Ao-kun helped you, and we'll see if it rings any bells."
"Sure!"
She didn't mind explaining what actually happened.
"So it went like this…"
Aisumi excitedly recounted the events in the café, while gumi quietly asked Rei Ao in their group chat.
gumi Kato: "@Rei Ao, Rei Ao-kun, Mai and I ran into a girl who wants to repay you for helping her. She's asking about your preferences."
Rei Ao: "Oh? What's her na?"
Shizuka Hiratsuka: "Don't stop!!!"
Shin: "Huh? Don't stop what?"
Kobayashi: "No idea—maybe a typo."
Rei Ao: "It's fine—just a little 'greedy kitten.' I'll feed her properly."
gumi Kato: "…"
He was obviously speaking in code that only so people would understand.
But gumi, knowing exactly where he was and with whom, understood perfectly.
She couldn't help thinking how bold Hiratsuka-sensei was.
She had to steer the topic back on track.
gumi Kato: "Rei Ao-kun, her na is Asumi Kominami. Does that ring a bell?"
gumi Kato: "We're worried she might be so kind of fangirl, so we haven't told her anything yet."
