The death of Budo and the entire imperial guard had thrown the Empire's upper echelons and nobles into a state of panic, particularly the minister who controlled the young emperor from behind the scenes.

With a smile, Rei Ao waved at Kuro and chose to return.

"Sis!!!"

Kuro rushed to Aka's side, checking her condition. Though she wanted to kill her sister, she had always intended to do it with her own hands, not watch her die at the hands of a man.

As Rei Ao vanished, Mai and the others disappeared with him.

Saya couldn't stop shaking her head. "This defies all science!"

Her face flushed with embarrassnt as she finished speaking and snuggled closer. "Let's just go to sleep. I'm tired."

Rei Ao could tell she wasn't pretending. The day's events had exhausted her. Deciding not to tease her further, he pulled her close and whispered softly, "Alright, let's sleep."

Right next door to Rei Qing's house, Gabriel was wide awake, sitting at her computer with a conflicted expression.
