Amou kirukiru's lip twitched. She opened her mouth to snap back, but the words died in her throat. Finally, after a long silence, she managed to sigh out a single sentence.

"Only you, Seito. Only you."

Seito grinned shalessly. "You know . My heart is a locked door, but my kidneys are open for business."

"Forget it. I'll deal with you on Saturday," Amou said, retracting her arm from his shoulder.

"See you then." Seito nodded. He liked Amou's straightforward nature—she was bold, aggressive, and knew exactly what she wanted, just like her ani counterpart. If they hadn't been best friends in middle school, she likely would have ignored him entirely, but their bond was deep enough to survive his nonsense.

"I'm heading ho. I need to log in early for the event tonight."

"Got it. Make sure you add . My IGN is Empress," Amou reminded him.

Empress. It was a bold nickna, but it suited her perfectly. Seito figured she was likely playing a high-spec lee build.

Twenty minutes later, Seito was back in his apartnt. He pulled his laundry in from the balcony; in this sweltering sumr heat, clothes dried in a matter of hours. After a quick bathroom break, he collapsed onto his bed, pulled on his neural helt, and initiated the dive.

The mont Seito materialized, his HUD blinked with unread ssages. He swiped them open.

Sora: "Get to Floor 10, Seito. The event kicks off at 7:00 PM. We need a strategy session."

Shiro: "Seito-nii... co to the Tenth Floor. We're in the safe zone inn, Room 203. Sending coordinates now. [Image.jpg]"

"I should add Amou first," Seito muttered. He typed in the na 'Empress' and hit send.

The response was instantaneous. Clearly, she had sprinted ho and logged in imdiately.

Sei: "Fast as always."

Empress: "Wait... that IGN... you aren't the 'Sei,' are you? One of the Big Three everyone is talking about?"

Sei: "The one and only."

Empress: "Wow. Shy and retiring in real life, but a literal god on the forums? Talk about a split personality."

Sei: "..."

Seito's lip twitched. Was she calling him a keyboard warrior? Before he could type a retort, her next ssage popped up.

Empress: "What's with the dots? Are you lagging or just glitching out?"

Sei: "..."

Empress: "Seriously? Still glitching?"

Seito closed the window. Crude woman. I refuse to engage. He opened the teleportation gate, entered the coordinates Shiro had sent, and vanished in a pillar of blue light.

Seito arrived at the inn and headed straight for the second floor. He knocked on the door of Room 203.

"It's open!" Maple's voice rang out from inside.

He stepped in to find the usual suspects: Sora, Shiro, Maple, and Sally. Counting himself, the "Core Team" was now five strong.

"Seito! Do you want to bring you a bento to school tomorrow?" Maple asked excitedly the mont he sat down. She had wanted to today, but she was worried her mother would get the wrong idea.

"No thanks, I'll handle my own tomorrow," Seito said, shaking his head. While he loved Maple's cooking, he had a promise to keep with Kanade.

"Aww, okay~" Maple didn't push it. Instead, she pulled Seito down to sit on the bed she was sharing with Sally.

"Alright, the gang's all here," Sora said, tapping a holographic screen to bring up the event details. "Take a look at the briefing. This isn't your standard mob-grind."

Seito swiped the notification into view.

[World Event: The Carnage Feast]

The Kyushu region had a population of two billion. For over a quarter of the nation to be logged in and at Level 20 within forty-eight hours of launch was a testant to how dominant God's Domain had beco.

"We need to sweep the top three spots," Seito said, looking around the room.

"Obviously," Sora smirked. "Blank never loses. And with you here, the outco is already decided. Though, be ready—I expect half the server will be gunning for us the mont the tir hits zero."

Seito smiled. "Let them co. It just ans more points for us. Speaking of which, I have sothing for you, Sora. It should help secure that #1 spot."

"Oh? What is it?" Sora leaned in, intrigued.

Seito opened his inventory and pulled out the Evil Moon Set he had fard from the Shadow Viper. He handed the shimring gear to Sora.

Sora's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

"Holy... this is insane!"

A Unique Orange-tier Warrior Set. The stats were off the charts for the current level cap, but the kicker was the necklace—it granted the wearer flight.

The girls leaned in, eyes sparkling at the dark, elegant armor. With this set equipped, Sora wouldn't just be a top-tier player; he would effectively beco the "God of War" for the upcoming event.
