"I want you to do it," said Lovelia, looking at the middle-aged man before him.
"I can probably do that." The middle-aged man nodded with confidence.
"Then go. I will pay you accordingly," Lovelia said in frustration.
"…" The middle-aged man frowned. Instead of leaving, he actually said, "I need an advance paynt."
Lovelia glared at him. She tried to pay him, but only half of it. "This is the paynt. Once you're done, I will transfer the rest."
"…" The middle-aged man looked at the money before leaving the room. It seed that the deal had been reached.
Unbeknownst to them, two people had been watching over the deal in the darkness.
"What do you think? Should we kill her?" One of them asked.
The other shook his head. "No. I think this is good. That kid is rather clever as a little villain. The rule is that no human should kill him. That old monster doesn't say we can't use other things to cause the beasts to kill his grandson."
"So, we should let her plan succeed?"
"Yeah. If it can work, it's good. There is a lot of jamming equipnt, so if that can hinder them, the chance of them dying is pretty high. In fact, I heard in the black market that there is a device that produces a sound at a certain frequency that can trigger the beasts. We might be able to use it to lure a horde of beasts."
"But… will this be enough? Even Tier 2 beasts weren't enough to kill them during the competition. Should we add the cannibals to Zeven Fallen City? Cannibals have been treated as not human, right?"
"That's rather vague. We have to consult the master first if we want to do that. Even bandits are still questionable thods."
"So, for now, we should assist that lass?"
"Yeah. From our information, that kid is going out of town soon. It seems that they are thinking about hiring an operator."
"Oh! If that's the case, we can strike them when that kid is relying on the operator. It will definitely cause confusion."
"Indeed. Even if we can't lure out the Tier 3 beast hidden in the core of the city, we can still find a lot of Tier 2 beasts along with nurous lower tier beasts to overwhelm them."
"Alright then."
The two disappeared into the darkness.
anwhile, Lovelia was glaring at the empty air, imagining Kanaria's face.
When she was growing up, she had been compared to Kanaria all this ti. However, she had never defeated her.
Kanaria was good at logistics and a genius at long-range weapons. At the sa ti, people said that she had such natural beauty that even without a lot of makeup, she was considered to be more beautiful than her.
The accumulation of jealousy had finally exploded after the previous incident.
She thought that she had won against her when she joined Ivan's group. However, Ivan had never looked at her. And after that bet, she had been thrown away.
All her ssages didn't get replies, as though he chose to abandon her after losing her usefulness.
anwhile, Kanaria joined Clovis's group and seed to be favored by Clovis. Compared to Ivan, Clovis's background was much bigger.
Lovelia muttered in a cold tone. "If I can't have it, I'm going to destroy everything. I will be the one having the last laugh, Kanaria."
…
While Lovelia's plan was running in the background, Clovis and Jay had finally taken care of the rest of the beasts.
They had been sitting on the ground, tired. After all, they had eliminated about ninety beasts just after arriving here.
"lody. How is the situation?" Clovis asked.
"There is nothing on the radar. All the beasts have been eliminated."
"Kanaria?"
"Nothing is moving around us. I don't think there are any other beasts around here. We can proceed to the next location if we want." Kanaria looked around with her binoculars.
"Alright." Clovis nodded his head. "We have to leave this area because the blood sll will attract the beasts."
Clovis stood up even though he was exhausted. "I'm going to get their essence. Kanaria remains in your position to make sure no beasts approach us."
"lody should have been the one gathering their essence. You should get so rest, Clovis," said Kanaria while furrowing her eyebrows. Since she had to remain here, lody should be the one helping them.
lody ignored Kanaria's comnts completely, while Clovis chuckled. "It's fine. I was the one giving permission."
"But in a fallen territory, we should be cooperating with each other." Kanaria complained, thinking that lody was just getting their money without doing any hard work.
Although she was satisfied with her work, she also understood why she had bad ratings. In fact, other people's reactions should be similar to hers, causing them to hate lody.
However, Clovis didn't mind all this. As long as he could still move, he would be the one to take care of the situation.
He might not know much about an operator, but he felt that lody had done a good job as an operator to the point where he wondered if he should recruit her to the group. After all, whenever there was a challenge, the skyglasses would show sothing new.
In fact, there were a lot of tis where the skyglasses showed a different color in the beast's body, indicating its weak spot.
What they didn't realize was that, in the car, lody was drenched in sweat. She had even taken her top off to cool down and covered herself with a towel to wipe the sweat.
"Hu…" lody let out a long sigh. "I really hate processing things. It took too much brain power."
On top of her body's condition, she was also similar to a person who could sweat by only thinking about things. She simply thought and processed a lot of things simultaneously, allowing her to provide any kinds of instructions or changes in the skyglasses right at the mont the enemies appeared.
"Still…" lody looked at the screen, specifically Clovis. "This guy is rather interesting."
