Sunday, January 26, 1992

After a pleasant and much-needed day spent with Ayumi, Zaboru returned to his work with renewed focus. His weekend was dedicated to overseeing the progress of his two major projects: the highly anticipated February ga release and the ongoing developnt of ZAGE's first handheld console. His company was thriving, expanding at an unprecedented pace, and with that growth ca a new challenge—space. His current office building was becoming increasingly cramped, and it was clear that expansion was inevitable.

For months, Zaboru had been eyeing the building adjacent to his office—a pachinko parlor owned by Akechi Hamazou. Over ti, he had noticed its decreasing activity; the once-bustling establishnt was now frequently closed. In fact, it hadn't opened at all in the last month. That raised an important question: was Akechi planning to shut it down? If so, this could be a golden opportunity for ZAGE's future.

Not only did he want to acquire the pachinko parlor, but he also considered purchasing his own office building in full, ensuring ZAGE's headquarters remained stable and scalable for years to co. The pachinko parlor was slightly taller, boasting three stories compared to his current office's two, but his office had more width. If he could acquire both, it would an a significant expansion—more room for employees, better facilities, and an optimized workflow.

Determined to act quickly, Zaboru picked up the phone and dialed Akechi's private ho number, hoping Ayumi's older brother would answer.

After a few rings, a familiar voice greeted him. "Yes, hello. Akechi Hamazou speaking."

"Oh, Akechi-san, it's , Zaboru."

"Ah, Zaboru, What's the matter?" Akechi's tone was relaxed but curious.

Zaboru decided to be direct. "It's about the pachinko parlor next to my office. I know it belongs to you, but I've noticed it hasn't been open for a while. Is everything alright?"

Akechi let out a knowing chuckle. "Ah, so you're interested in expanding, huh? Well, you're not wrong—the pachinko business there has been a ss. The guy managing it got into trouble with the wrong people and vanished. I was already considering shutting it down. Since you're interested, I can sell it to you. I'll have my team remove the pachinko machines, but you can keep the furnishings if you want."

Zaboru's heart raced. This was exactly what he had hoped for. "Really, Akechi-san? That's great news! Actually, I'd like to take it a step further—I want to buy both the pachinko parlor and my current office building. I'd rather own the whole space to ensure ZAGE's long-term future. Would you be willing to sell both?"

Akechi burst into hearty laughter. "Hahaha! You really must be rolling in cash now, Zaboru! Well, I don't mind selling both, but let's talk numbers. I'll sell you both buildings for 80 million yen, and you can pay in installnts. The terms are flexible—it's up to you."

Zaboru's mind raced. 80 million yen for both buildings was a steal, considering the pri location and the sheer value they held for ZAGE's expansion. He wasn't about to pass up such an offer. "That sounds fair, Akechi-san. What are the paynt options?"

Akechi wasted no ti in laying out the details. "You have two choices: pay 8 million yen annually over ten years or 16 million yen annually over five years. Which suits you better?"

Zaboru weighed his options carefully. Financially, ZAGE was in good shape, and while the larger installnt was a significant commitnt, finishing the paynts sooner would be better for long-term planning. "I think we can handle 16 million yen per year. It makes sense to get it done in five years rather than stretch it to ten."

Akechi humd in approval. "Good choice. You can start making paynts this year whenever you're ready. The date of your first paynt will determine your annual due date. Deal?"

Zaboru grinned. "Deal, Akechi-san! Thank you for making this possible."

With the agreent sealed, Zaboru imdiately began laying the groundwork for the acquisition. First, he needed to coordinate with Sayuri, ZAGE's head of finance, to ensure that the paynt plan was seamlessly integrated into their financial projections. He also had to arrange the legal paperwork and oversee the transition of ownership.

As Akechi promised, a few days later, a representative arrived at ZAGE to handle the necessary docuntation. The contracts were drawn up, and after a careful review, Zaboru signed the papers that would make both buildings his. It was an exhilarating mont—one that marked a new future working space for ZAGE.

While the legal side was in motion, Zaboru also began planning the next steps. Once Akechi's team removed the pachinko machines, renovations could begin. He envisioned a modern, efficient workspace with larger developnt studios, testing areas, and improved employee facilities. With the added space, ZAGE could hire more talent, optimize production, and even explore new opportunities in ga developnt.

Zaboru found himself reflecting on how far he had co. Just a few months ago, he had started to get ZAGE off the ground. Now, he was securing its future with a strategic expansion that would cent its place in the gaming industry. The road ahead was still filled with challenges, but this move ensured he had the resources to tackle them head-on.

As he stood in his office, staring out at the soon-to-be-renovated building next door, a sense of accomplishnt washed over him. This was more than just a business deal—it was a statent. A declaration that ZAGE was here to stay, grow, and innovate.

With renewed determination, he turned back to his desk, even though today is weekend he was ready to push forward into the next Chapter of his company's journey.
