Jeremy started the ga again, determined to complete it in record ti. Having mastered its chanics, he sped through each stage, defeating enemies with precision and efficiency. His confidence grew with every battle, and his movents beca second nature. He no longer hesitated at tricky platforming sections or worried about conserving hearts for sub-weapons. He had learned enemy patterns, shortcuts, and how to optimize every second of gaplay. By the ti he had collected all of Dracula's remains and reached the final battle, he glanced at the clock.
"Yeah! That was definitely less than 1 hour and 30 minutes!" he cheered as the final scene played out.
The ending screen displayed the long-awaited ssage:
"Simon's quest is successful. Dracula can never be resurrected!"
Jeremy pumped his fist in victory. "Finally! I got the best ending!"
But just as he was about to put down the controller, the screen shifted unexpectedly. An 8-bit cutscene appeared, showing a mysterious green portal opening. From within, a figure erged—a creature with black and white skin, a flowing cape, and heavy chains draped across his back. Jeremy's eyes widened as the figure stepped forward, his imposing form towering over Simon.
"Where am I?" the creature muttered, looking around in confusion.
Simon turned toward him, gripping his whip. "Who are you? Are you one of Dracula's minions?"
The figure's glowing eyes focused on Simon. "That twerp? Please. I'm not one of his underlings. I hate that guy." He crossed his arms. "My na is Al Simmons, but people know as Spawn. My story is... complicated. Sohow, I ended up in this world."
Simon remained cautious. "So, what are you doing here?"
Spawn smirked. "Relax, Belmont. I'm not your enemy. In fact, I'll help you wipe out any remaining forces of Dracula while I'm here."
The screen faded to black, and new text appeared: "Spawn is now available as a playable character!"
Jeremy let out an excited yell. "No way! A secret character! And his na is Spawn!? He's so cool! Wait... wasn't his real na Simmons too? Could there be a connection here?" He pondered the possibility of so hidden link between Simon Belmont and Al Simmons, but after a mont, he shook his head. "Nah, probably just a coincidence... or is it?" He decided to set the thought aside for now and focus on enjoying the ga.
Without hesitation, he started another playthrough, this ti selecting Spawn as his character. Unlike Simon, Spawn had unique abilities. He was stronger in combat, striking enemies with his chains instead of a whip. He couldn't collect secondary weapons, but instead, he could hurl nether-green energy projectiles as an alternative attack. His jumps were also much higher, allowing him to traverse levels in ways Simon couldn't. He also had a special ability—when standing still, he could regenerate a small amount of health over ti, making him a more durable fighter compared to Simon.
Playing as Spawn completely changed the ga's dynamic. Jeremy marveled at how much smoother the gaplay felt with Spawn enhanced mobility and combat prowess. With his chains extending further than Simon's whip, he could attack enemies from a safer distance. His green projectile attack acted as both a ranged weapon and a shield, deflecting so enemy projectiles. Jeremy quickly adapted to Spawn's playstyle and found himself enjoying the ga even more than before.
He quickly progressed through the stages again, reaching Dracula in record ti. With Spawn's overwhelming power, the battle ended swiftly. When playing with Spawn Dracula is fighting back like the first stages but with Jeremy skills and Spawn prowess Dracula barely had a chance to retaliate before Spawn's relentless attacks obliterated him. But instead of the usual ending, a new scene played.
A figure dressed in a black coat, wearing a gray helt with shining blue eyes, approached Spawn. His presence exuded an aura of mystery, as if he had been watching from the shadows all along.
"Spawn, you are not supposed to be here," the figure said, his voice calm yet authoritative.
Spawn tensed, his fists clenching. "It's you! Who are you, really? Why do you exist in this world too?" Before he could get an answer, the figure vanished into thin air, leaving only silence.
The screen faded, and the credits rolled.
Jeremy stared at the screen, his mind racing. "Wait... that NPC from earlier! The one who called cool! Is he actually important? Is he so kind of big deal? Does he appear in other gas too?"
A grin spread across his face. "Man, this ga is aweso. Playing as Spawn was insanely fun. I wonder if there are more surprises hidden in ZEPS gas." He was already imagining what other guest characters might secretly exist within the ZEPS lineup.
Jeremy leaned back, letting the excitent settle. He had started Castlevania expecting a simple vampire-hunting adventure, but it turned into sothing much bigger. It wasn't just about getting the best ending—it was about the unexpected surprises, the hidden characters, and the feeling that the ga had more secrets waiting to be discovered.
He thought of the ZEPS collection of gas and realized sothing—if Castlevania was this fun, maybe it was ti to explore more of what ZEPS had to offer.
With that thought in mind, he made a ntal note to pick up more ZEPS gas in the future, eager to see what other unexpected twists awaited him.
Jeremy placed the controller down, stretching his arms before glancing at the clock. He had been playing for hours, yet he still wanted more. He smirked to himself. Tomorrow, he would be back at the ga store, searching for his next ZEPS adventure.
To be continued.
AN : What do you think of Spawn? , his abilities are really suited for Castlevania gaplay i think!
