Kumogi had beco a dedicated fan of ZEPS, spending most of his free ti playing their gas at Bakudan Arcade. Lately, he had been hooked on gaman and Tetris, but his friends, Sawada and Sakaki, had been pestering him non-stop to try out Base Wars. Eventually, he gave in, deciding to take a leave day just to dedicate ti to playing his newest ZEPS purchase in peace.
Excited, he opened the Base Wars box, revealing four items inside—one of which was the signature Zabo-man card. The card had a small note that read, "You'll see in one of the teams!" Kumogi grinned. "Heh, so Zabo-man is a playable character? This just got interesting."
Eager to dive in, he started up the ga. The opening cutscene played in 8-bit style, narrating the futuristic setting. "The Galaxial Federation of chs loves human sports so much that they created the ultimate robotic baseball league—Base Wars!" The screen shifted, showing a fast-paced montage of various robots playing baseball, so performing incredible athletic feats, while others engaged in unexpected combat. The visuals showcased robots sliding into bases, outfielders with chanical arms stretching to catch impossible fly balls, and players engaging in physical brawls to determine safe or out calls. The cutscene ended with an explosive transition to the main nu, displaying four options: "League," "Free Play," "2 Player," and "Robot Information."
Curious, Kumogi selected "Robot Information" to see what kind of chs the ga had. The screen transitioned to a detailed list of six unique robot types, each with different strengths and weaknesses:
Android: A humanoid robot with balanced stats, capable of wielding any weapon and armor but lacking a distinct specialty
.Tank Bot: A heavily-armored robot with tank treads for legs, slow and hard to maneuver but an absolute powerhouse in combat.
Fly Bot: A hovering robot with unmatched speed, but incredibly fragile in direct fights.
Motorcycle Bot: A sleek, fast-moving bot with unicycle-like legs, decent in battle but not the best overall.
Muscle Bot: A bulky, heavy-hitting bot with the strongest throwing arm but the slowest speed. Unable to equip additional weapons.
lee Bot: A bot designed for precision, excelling in batting and lee combat but struggling in mobility and throwing.
Kumogi's eyes widened. "What the hell!? Combat? Since when does baseball involve fighting?!"
Intrigued, he navigated back to the main nu and selected "League Mode." A selection screen popped up, listing eight available teams, each with distinct colors and origins:
Neo-Tokio - Cyber Sluggers (White and Red)
U-Roma - Galactic Gladiators (Red and Gold)
SEOLZ - cha Mavericks (Black and White)
Phariz Empire - Void Vipers (Blue and Red)
Madreed Kingdom - Neon Nebulas (Yellow and White)
chanical BaiJink - Astro Annihilators (Black and Red)
Planetary Karacas - Hyperion Hitters (Yellow and Blue)
Zanerio Alliance - Quantum Crushers (Yellow and Green)
"What the hell!? Their nas are so weird but so cool!" Kumogi exclaid, grinning. He scanned the list before settling on Neo-Tokio. "Let's see what the supposed Japanese team is capable of."
After selecting the team, another nu appeared with two options: "Formation" and "Customize." Intrigued, Kumogi first checked "Formation," which allowed him to set up his team's lineup, placing robots in their respective positions. Next, he opened "Customize," and his jaw nearly dropped. The level of customization was insane—he could upgrade armor, weapons, chips that increase robot speeds, and more. However, he quickly realized there was a limit. Each team had a max upgrade budget of 30,000 points, aning he couldn't fully max out every robot. He would need to strategize.
For example the Weapon List are like this

as for Armor and Chips they follow simillar patern
"Whoa... I can't just upgrade everything? This is actually deep!" he muttered, scratching his head. The available options allowed him to enhance durability, batting power, throwing accuracy, and even combat abilities. He noticed that heavier upgrades slowed movent but significantly boosted attack power, while lightweight options favored speed but left the robot vulnerable in brawls.
After so consideration, he decided to focus on enhancing his Android-type robot, knowing that it had the best flexibility in terms of weapon and armor choices. He also distributed upgrades among his other robots, making sure each one had a solid balance of stats depending on their role. So would be power hitters, so would focus on speed, and others would be combat specialists. He even considered tactics for team fights, ensuring he had at least one powerhouse bot to handle fights at critical monts.
With his team set up, Kumogi pressed start, and the first ga of the season loaded. His team, the Neo-Tokio Cyber Sluggers, was up against the U-Roma Galactic Gladiators. The ga began with Kumogi pitching first. His android pitcher wound up and threw a blazing fastball. The enemy batter swung and made contact, sending the ball soaring toward right field. His outfielder, a Motorcycle Bot, sped across the field and made a last-second leap, catching the ball mid-air.
"Whoa! This is intense already!" Kumogi muttered.
Then ca the next batter. Kumogi decided to switch up his pitches, throwing a curveball. The batter missed, and Kumogi grinned. He went for another pitch, this ti a slider, but the batter connected and sent it rolling towards the infield. His Tank Bot fielded the ball and tossed it toward first base, but the batter-robot lee Bot dashed toward the bag at inhuman speed. Just before reaching the base, the enemy robot initiated a "Fight for Base" sequence. Suddenly, the ga switched to a side-view brawl mode where Kumogi's Android first baseman had to duke it out against the opposing lee Bot in a Brutal fight
"Wait, what!? I have to fight for the out?!" Kumogi yelled, gripping the controller tightly.
The fight comnced. The enemy lle bot slash fla swords, but Kumogi dodged and countered with a Shotgun shots! , Kumogi Android are wearing Shotguns and Ice Lance. Sparks flew as tal clashed against tal. The lee Bot retaliated with iai Slash knocking Kumogi's Android down montarily. Quickly mashing buttons, Kumogi got back up and unleashed a rapid combo. He attempted a Z-man ga like Combo—left, down, right, X—causing his Android bot to execute a devastating special move. The Android bot charged its shotgun with an energy pulse, leaped backward in an acrobatic flip, and fired a powerful blast mid-air. The enemy bot staggered, its tal plating denting from the impact, before collapsing in a dramatic explosion of sparks. The screen flashed "K.O.!" as the crowd in the background erupted in pixelated cheers, signaling Kumogi's triumphant victory.
"Hell yeah! Sit down!" Kumogi shouted as the out was called.
The rest of the ga continued with more action-packed plays, with every hit leading to high-speed chases and close combat encounters. The gaplay was unlike anything he had ever played before, mixing sports with full-on robotic brawls. By the ti the match ended, Kumogi was exhausted but exhilarated.
"This... this is the best baseball ever!" he declared, already eager to play the next match.
To be continued.
