Spikemoss: "Dragon Cypress... Source Stone... gone..."
Dragon Cypress: "???"
Dragon Cypress: "Spikemoss, what do you an?"
Spikemoss: "The Source Stones you placed in the Ant Nest—I used them all up when I blood."
Dragon Cypress: "Used them all up just like that?"
Spikemoss: "...Not exactly in an instant; it lasted for two days and two nights."
Dragon Cypress: "I..."
Dragon Cypress stomped his foot, his dark green Carapace instantly turning black.
He had painstakingly transported 1,200,000 Source Stones over two months. During these years of growth, so might have been used sporadically, but surely at least 1,000,000 were left, right?
Could blooming really use up 1,000,000 Source Stones?
Dragon Cypress fell silent again.
When Spikemoss's Divine-Given Seed was still just a Seed, it displayed extraordinary abilities. Like Azure, it could command Soldier Ants. It was incredibly intelligent and capable of helping manage the Territory.
But Spikemoss and Azure had vastly different personalities.
Azure had accompanied Dragon Cypress, progressing from a Junior Warrior to his current state, and had developed a habit of ticulous calculation.
Spikemoss was different. Having never experienced the hardships of establishing sothing new, he didn't understand the importance of thriftiness.
1,000,000!
My Source Stones!
Dragon Cypress felt his heart bleed.
Currently, the only source of Source Stone inventory in the Xianglan Mountain Kingdom was the profit margin from the Divine-Grade Fruit trade at Huagi Mountain.
The Fla Spider Roving rchant brought 5,000,000 Source Stones each year, sending 4,500,000 to Huagi Mountain.
Dragon Cypress made a profit of 500,000 Source Stones.
However, Cloud Trace Continent was ho to nurous Divine-Given Seeds. All of them required Source Stones during their fruiting period. This cost an average of 300,000 Source Stones annually, and the amount was still increasing.
The Xianglan Mountain Kingdom's annual savings in Source Stones were dwindling, with the surplus now less than 200,000 pieces.
It would take at least 5 years to save up 1,000,000.
Dragon Cypress had calculated that this large sum of Source Stones would be enough for King Cypress's Divine-Given Seed to evolve to Evolution King Level...
And then, this fellow...
Dragon Cypress: "Spikemoss, it's okay..."
Spikemoss: "Dragon Cypress, whenever you have ti, just ship another batch over."
Dragon Cypress: "..."
Dragon Cypress: "No rush. I'll transport them when I have ti."
Dragon Cypress: "I also possess an Outworld Civilization Artifact nad 'Glinting Gold,' created specifically for Divine-Given Seeds. At night, it can store the Origin Force Energy you absorb but don't use. During the day, any spare energy and nutrients can also be stored in Glinting Gold to be drawn upon when needed. It's very convenient."
Dragon Cypress: "Currently, Glinting Gold is with Great King Molan's Divine-Given Seed. As soon as the Divine-Grade Molan Seed matures and is harvested next year, I'll send it to you imdiately."
Spikemoss: "Oh—"
Spikemoss asked, puzzled, "Does Great King Molan's Divine-Given Seed have surplus energy during the day? And surplus Origin Force at night?"
Dragon Cypress: "???"
Dragon Cypress: "With the cycle of sun and moon, the alternation of day and night, all Divine-Given Seeds have a surplus of Primordial Energy, regular energy, and nutrients."
Dragon Cypress retorted, "Spikemoss, you don't?"
Spikemoss: "...Nope."
Dragon Cypress imdiately fell silent.
Is this fellow trying to scam out of my Source Stones?
Doesn't seem like it!
Dragon Cypress suddenly thought of a possibility: Could it be that King Cypress's Divine-Given Seed is currently in a vigorous growth phase? With such huge consumption in all aspects, it might be unable to et its demands, hence no surplus?
He looked up toward the fruit at the top of the tree.
Now that another Divine-Grade Fruit had appeared, consumption was even greater, inevitably burdening its growth.
This is a problem!
The fruit has appeared too hastily; two or three years later would have been better.
Pick it?
If it were picked, wouldn't that an 1,000,000 Source Stones had gone down the drain?
However, he couldn't let the fruit hinder the normal growth of King Cypress's Divine-Given Seed.
This Source Stone expenditure is unavoidable.
Dragon Cypress said calmly, "Alright. I'm not busy now. I'll transport another 600,000 Source Stones over."
Spikemoss: "Okay. Dragon Cypress, transport more. I have a feeling this fruit will require a lot of Source Stones."
A feeling? A lot?
Dragon Cypress controlled the Dominating Throne, slowly rising to the treetop to take a closer look.
Its appearance was similar to an ordinary Cypress Fruit: a spherical Scaly Fruit covered with silver-white scaly powder.
Since the fruit hadn't been there for long, he could only perceive a faint, barely detectable trace of a Primordial Energy chanism.
Ink Orchid shifted, climbed onto the Throne's soft cushion, squeezed in beside Dragon Cypress, and leaned in to examine it closely.
"Dragon Cypress, what's the matter?"
"What's what matter?"
"Is everything alright?"
"Everything's fine."
"Seeing you so agitated, there must be sothing! Unwilling to say? Then it's not good news."
"Nothing gets past Second King, eh."
Second King tilted her head, fixed him with a death stare, and commanded, "Speak!"
Dragon Cypress: "The 1,200,000 Source Stones we reserved in the Ant Nest last ti... they're used up."
Ink Orchid: "???"
Dragon Cypress: "When Great Cypress blood, it absorbed Origin Force rapidly for two days and two nights, using up all the Source Stones."
Ink Orchid: "There should have been at least 1,000,000 left, right? All 1,000,000 Source Stones used up? Just to produce one fruit?"
Ink Orchid was shocked and stamped her foot, her heart aching with distress. "Why did this happen? Dragon Cypress, I rember you said that for a Divine-Given Seed to break through to Evolution King Level, the cost wouldn't exceed 1,000,000 Source Stones."
Ink Orchid turned her head, looking again at the Cypress Fruit on the treetop, muttering, "How strange! Where did all the absorbed Origin Force go? Was it wasted? Or is its absorption or conversion efficiency too low?"
Dragon Cypress: "I've been pondering that too. After much thought, I've co up with two possible reasons."
Dragon Cypress: "First, it's very obvious that the strand of Primordial Energy Breath contained in this fruit is of a much higher quality than that of a typical Divine-Grade Fruit. It's of a higher order than any Divine-Grade Soul-Stabilizing Fruit, Kunlun Seed, Jinhe Fruit, White Poplar Fruit, or Molan Seed we've encountered—an entire realm higher."
Dragon Cypress: "I suspect that this tiny wisp of Primordial Energy Breath requires a massive amount of Origin Force to coalesce.
"Let offer an imperfect analogy. When we trigger a Law Divine-Given, Natural God Force descends.
"An extrely minute amount of that God Force contains energy so potent it could paralyze an Insect. How much Origin Force would be needed to coalesce such a tiny bit of God Force? A trendous amount, surely, right?
"The situation with this fruit from King Cypress's Divine-Given Seed is similar, just not nearly as extre as with Natural God Force."
