Now reading: Chapter 151 - 142 Paracelsus4 from Apocalypse Forecast, a Adventure novel by Moonlight Breeze.

The excruciating pain bursting from within his body had already stripped him of all his strength. He collapsed to the ground, seeing the silver circuits erge on the back of his hand.

Penalty for Oath Breaking...

The silver implanted within his bone marrow raged in anger. It rcilessly tornted every single one of his delicate nerves, turning a thousand torturous cuts into an unbearable flood of pain. This agony gradually subrged him, leaving him to slowly suffocate in the pitch-black abyss.

From the depths of his grogginess, Huai Shi struggled to stretch out his hand. He crawled on the ground in a wretched state, sipping the blood that flowed upon it. Yet, the once life-filled blood brought him not a whisper of comfort in this hellish tornt.

"At any cost, Van Essen, at any cost!"

In his bloodthirst and agony, the Archbishop's aged voice echoed in his ears once more. "Kill Paracelsus! Let the blaspher's creation, that monstrosity which only desecrates God's great achievents, be smashed to pieces!"

Kill him!

Kill!

The roaring voices of countless people resonated within Huai Shi's soul, nearly tearing him apart. He struggled to open his eyes, attempting to rise, but all his strength only managed to flip his body over.

He then saw the ghastly creature staggering into the room.

He didn't know how to describe it.

It resembled a bundle of shattered bandages wrapping a mutilated corpse, crawling on the ground with its incomplete limbs like a wild beast, following the scent of blood.

"Source Substance... Source Substance... give Source Substance..."

Like a mad dog, it pounced on Lei Feizhou's severed head that lay on the ground, chewing greedily on the flesh and blood.

Amidst the crimson stains, its shattered face seed to regain moisture, glowing with vitality. It vaguely revealed the contour of the once dark-skinned teenage boy, along with the golden tattoos of nobility...

But soon, it cast aside the unrecognizable head in disappointnt.

"Not enough... too little... too little... give more!"

The forr Pharaoh slowly turned his head, its eyes alight with a lava-like blaze, and drew closer, "Give more!"

Huai Shi reached out with difficulty, searching for the Axe's location.

But in the excruciating pain, he found he could barely grip the handle and could only smile wryly, "I'm closed for the day. Could you please look sowhere else?"

"Source Substance! Wretch, give Source Substance!"

The Pharaoh roared, baring its fangs toward his neck.

Then, amid a thunderous roar, its head exploded into a bloody ss.

Dry fragnts and shattered bandages flew everywhere, coating Huai Shi's mouth in dust and causing him to cough violently.

Even with its head burst open, the Pharaoh hadn't died. Its mutilated body convulsed wildly, and its bandage-wrapped body crawled on the ground as if trying to flee.

But imdiately after, its incomplete body was pinned down.

Beneath the radiance of the halo overhead, the Teenage Girl raised a chalice brimming with Holy Water. She softly chanted a prayer, "The living know that they will die. The dead know nothing. They have no more reward, and their nas are forgotten. Their love, their hate, and their envy have already perished. They will never again have a part in anything that happens under the sun..."

The Holy Water with its pure light fell.

It hit the mutilated remains like seawater washing over a beach, causing the mummy to collapse in an instant, dissipating into a handful of dust.

Only then did Huai Shi see the intricate details engraved on the barrel of the old-fashioned smoothbore gun.

And the Teenage Girl in front of him, who should have been dead and cold.

Lily.

She was still alive.

"What's this..."

Huai Shi paused, unable to restrain his urge to laugh. So, was my quest for vengeance all in vain? he thought mockingly.

At that mont, Huai Shi heard Ai Qing's sigh.

"So, you didn't die after all?"

She murmured unhappily; her worst suspicion had finally been confird.

"Congratulations, Huai Shi—you've finally found your mission target."

No, it would be more accurate to say that on the first day, Huai Shi had located the true identity of his mission target, relying on his own incredible luck and intuition. He had only been misled by his own presumptuous experience and ended up in a blind spot.

Now, apart from her... who else on this ship has the right to be called Paracelsus?

"Is it here with you? I've been looking for ages."

Lily bent down and took the Almighty Dictionary from the vampire's embrace. Looking at the torn cover and the blood-stained parts, she couldn't help but shake her head in resignation.

"You are Paracelsus, right?" Huai Shi asked softly. "That ti when Lei Feizhou wanted to kill , you were the one helping , weren't you?"

"My father passed away half a year ago."

Lily squatted down, opened her waist bag, took out a glass syringe and needle, assembled them skillfully, and inserted it into the vein on Huai Shi's wrist.

"It's a pity. If it were him, he could create an antidote for this level of wolf poison in just a few minutes, right? I still have so much to learn..."

As the Teenage Girl spoke, the blood was slowly drawn out, flowing within the syringe.

Strangely, the blood in the syringe quickly lost its color. Nurous dust-sized crystals continually erged from it, only to lt back into the now colorless liquid.

Only a trail of gray sedint was left, slowly settling at the bottom.

Lily removed the needle from the glass syringe in her hand and replaced it with a new one, then deftly inserted it into the vein on the inside of her own wrist, drawing out a portion of her flowing blood.

Imdiately afterward, Lily began rapidly flipping through the dictionary's pages, searching for content and formulas. As she did, even more intricate transformations, invisible to the naked eye, erged from within the syringe.

At this mont, the ordinary-looking glass syringe seemingly transford into an entire, massive biological laboratory. It instantly completed a series of complex processes like centrifugal extraction, sterilization, cell culture, and cell mbrane fusion.

The so-called Scholars—such a bizarre and eerie profession. People without talent could spend their entire lives and never grasp the basics. It was a playground reserved for geniuses alone.

As long as one understands the principles and carries the related instrunts and materials, they can achieve results in a mont. These results would otherwise require lengthy and precise operations in a laboratory.

All the superfluous interdiary steps were entirely omitted.

Soon, the blood in the syringe turned a clear azure color. As Lily acted, it was re-injected into Huai Shi's veins.

A sensation of heaviness and drowsiness rose from Huai Shi's consciousness.

He gradually lost sensation and control over his limbs and struggled to maintain consciousness. "What is this? Poison?"

"Hmm? Are you talking about Cytokine Recombinant Fusion Protein?"

Lily answered calmly, "The poison in you is too severe. Those low-quality Alchemy Potions are purely slow killers. Apart from the specially made targeted dicine, a simple Antidote would have no effect.

Although a side effect is that you'll sleep for a long ti, however..."

The rest of her words, Huai Shi could no longer hear.

He closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

Only after Lily had patiently finished explaining did she hear his snoring. She frowned slightly in displeasure but ultimately did not wake him.

She looked down at the Almighty Dictionary her father had left her.

For a long ti, she turned to the last page and saw the final words Paracelsus had left for her.

A completely different annotation.

[Friend—soone who is trustworthy, soone who won't betray you.]

A person I can trust?

She looked down at Huai Shi for a long ti and started to smile softly, "Then sleep well, my friend."
