Huai Shi raised his hand, pointing decisively at the test subject in front of him. After the Candle-Holding Crow cawed, the fla on the candlestick at the corner of its mouth suddenly jumped, expanded, and engulfed the entire raven within it.
Imdiately after, as the light of the fla went out, the Candle-Holding Crow turned from its physical form into a wisp of gray mist. Under Huai Shi's command, it drifted towards the empty husk below.
And sank into it.
In that instant, the massive rat's eyelids twitched—the Source Substance signature, previously a flat line, suddenly pulsed with new ripples.
Struggling to open its eyes, that was as far as it could get.
The husk was simply too massive and heavy; a single Candle-Holding Crow could hardly animate such an enormous form.
Then let's add a few more!
Huai Shi waved his hand, and several Yin Soul Reservists leaped out. Their Dreamland attribute Source Substance intensified, their silhouettes becoming semi-transparent like mist as they plunged into the husk.
One, two, three... After six ordinary ravens were added, the War Machine on the operating table suddenly rose, only to crash to the floor.
Flailing its limbs like a newborn, it awkwardly adjusted to this entirely new body.
After a long while, it finally propped itself against the wall and struggled to its feet.
Its head, covered in sutures, stiffly scanned its surroundings; its dull eyes slowly began to show hints of crimson carried from nightmares.
Suddenly, they ignited with a fervent glow.
"CAW—"
It opened its mouth and, with a raspy, sharp cry, shouted the first word it uttered since coming into this world:
"—Holy!!!"
In that instant, intense fluctuations of Source Substance surged from the body of the Giant Sewn Rat Man.
As the hollow husk was unified by the flock of ravens, flesh and Soul rging into one, an inexplicable Transformation coursed through its body.
No, it was more like so chanism from the Abyss had been activated.
It operated here, bestowing a miracle.
Amidst violent convulsions and tremors, the Giant Sewn Rat Man abruptly bent over. Its body hair grew rapidly, covering and completely shrouding it.
In the midst of intense pain, it knelt and offered devout praise to Huai Shi.
And above Huai Shi's head, the long-vanished Prince Crown reappeared, lighting up and radiating a brilliant light.
In the distance, the mighty chorus of Paradise's denizens resounded. Illuminated by the light, the emblem of Paradise faintly appeared above the Rat-man's head.
On that massive husk, countless growing hairs intertwined, eventually forming a thick, clumsy mascot costu.
It was similar to the one he had once seen on Little Cat.
Only, this one looked entirely different from Little Cat's. It was black and white, wore red suspenders, had disproportionately long arms and legs, and two massive, round ears on its head.
No trace of artificiality remained; it was as if it had been born this way.
And that head bore a striking resemblance to the three circles Huai Shi had drawn when summoning the Departnt of Justice.
Then, as if sensing sothing, the slumbering spirits of the Departnt of Justice within Huai Shi's shadow flashed into existence. They arrived with an imposing, grim deanor, like debt collectors appearing at the door.
But upon seeing Huai Shi and the transford Rat-man, they froze, an expression of unprecedented bewildernt on their faces.
Sheer disbelief.
After a mont, they lifted a sign—upside down.
