Unsure how many eyes brim with jealousy and envy.
But Huai Shi, feeling despair, shut his eyes without tears left to shed.
Get lost, you baldy!
To avoid a small red dot appearing on his chest, he wanted to keep arguing, but Ai Qing had fallen silent on the channel.
He faintly heard chaotic noises from the other side, as if the Hybrid Alliance’s sudden actions had caused such unrest, leaving them no ti to discuss what happened in the small room...
Miss Lihua leaned over and began tracing on his palm with her finger.
Huai Shi, fuming, swatted away her finger, but Miss Lihua sighed and continued to write on Huai Shi’s back: ’Follow my lead later.’
Huai Shi furrowed his brow, finally sensing sothing was off.
anwhile, Liu DongLi kept writing at a leisurely pace.
——Be careful... Hisashiga.
Hisashiga?
In an instant, Huai Shi’s body stiffened, his eyes flicking towards the head of Hisashiga House, currently laughing with Tobio.
The sense of impending danger slowly dawning.
Quickly, everyone had fallen in line, followed by more than a dozen people dragged forward, bound tightly.
Beneath the eyes of all.
So bore bruises, others wore expressions of stark despair.
Among them were not only attendees of the banquet, but even a person who had sat next to Huai Shi, not to ntion the aides originally with Ochiai Family, and several mbers of Arakawa Family were brought forth as well.
"Hey! Tobio... President."
Arakawa’s expression contorted: "What’s happening? Why are my people arrested too?"
Tobio waved a hand, soon a subordinate brought forth a box.
Inside the transparent plastic container were phones, listening devices, and various transmission equipnt, so still coated in body-temperature warmth and blood.
Clearly, these were just stripped off.
One even had a chunk of bone attached, from a fierce individual who had hidden the transmitter inside their own body.
"Actually, tonight I called everyone here for three reasons."
In the silence, Tobio Souhei spoke up: "The first is to introduce myself, this old man, as the Alliance’s President from now on. Many of you haven’t t before, I hope this will prevent future misunderstandings."
"Secondly, I want you to beco familiar with them, faces that you might already know well."
With that, Tobio stepped down the stairs, took a thick file from a subordinate, and walked past each bound figure, identifying them, dropping a dossier and intelligence files on those pale faces.
"This one is from Fool’s Team... This one from Iron King Party... this one’s quite notable, a lapdog of the tropolitan Police’s big shots... This one’s a spy among Court Officials... this one, ha, this one’s impressive, a triple agent, skilled at tightrope walking... this one’s from the Russian Federation... this one, more like an information broker... as for this one, highly suspected, though I didn’t catch evidence, with a transmitter, why not include them too..."
Amidst the slight drizzle, Tobio tossed aside the last piece of evidence, lifted his gaze, and surveyed the faces around him, telling them: "These people were once our brothers and friends, but now, they’ve turned into traitors."
Behind Tobio, a silent middle-aged man raised his hand, pulling out a gun from his coat, disabling the safety.
And imdiately, the bound individuals convulsed more violently, so shouted desperately though silenced by gags preventing any sound from escaping.
Quickly though, the subordinate’s raised arm was pressed down by Tobio.
"Today, having everyone here—my aim is to inform you—the Alliance may be vast, but there is no space spared for traitors."
In the silent atmosphere, Tobio took the gun from his subordinate and cocked it: "Therefore, please see clearly. This isn’t intimidation, rely a straightforward reminder..."
He stated, "Should I one day betray you, everyone can treat the sa way."
In the dim night, a spark suddenly erupted from the gun barrel.
Illuminating Tobio’s calm face.
A sharp sound resonated.
The first person convulsed montarily, fell, blood silently spreading.
Then ca the second, third, fourth...
The old man, expressionless, pulled the trigger on each one, replacing the clip once bullets ran out, then continued again.
Until the last person lay on the ground.
In the hushed quiet, Tobio turned, gazing at everyone behind him, suddenly roaring aggressively: "Understood?"
"Yes!!!"
A cacophony of cries overlapped, resounding like thunder.
Under solemn glances, everyone involuntarily lowered their heads, responding in unison.
Thus, Tobio nodded in satisfaction.
"Well then, moving on to the final matter..."
As he spoke, an unexpected ringtone suddenly chid, overhead, everyone stared in astonishnt, finally turning their attention to Hisashiga.
Right there in his pocket, the phone continued to vibrate, emitting a monotonous ringtone.
Hisashiga sheepishly bowed his head, ending the call, but soon, the ringtone rang again. Such persistence...
Until Tobio waved his hand: "No problem, answer it, it might be sothing urgent, right?"
Hisashiga awkwardly chuckled, answered the phone intending to reprimand sternly, when he heard explosions, gunfire, even wails from the other end!
"President! President! The Tobio Family has gone mad! Attacked our headquarters, the Guard Team is utterly wiped out... President! President?"
Hisashiga froze in place, abruptly looked up, then ca face to face with the black gun barrel.
Radiating residual heat and gunpowder scent.
"Heard , Hisashiga-kun." Amidst the chaos, Tobio’s voice questioned.
Hisashiga’s expression shifted, gradually twisting: "What are you doing! Tobio, have I offended you sohow? Why attack ? Didn’t you say to—"
"Fool, still don’t get it?" Tobio shook his head indifferently, "That was just so lie I casually told to divert your family’s defense."
"Hey, Tobio, what are you doing!"
"Wait, it’s not necessary..."
Others widened their eyes trying to intervene.
Huai Shi’s jaw nearly dropping to the ground.
This string of events simply left everyone astounded, each revelation topping the last, utterly beyond digesting!
What’s this old man aiming to do?
"While among us five, there’s occasional friction, initially it shouldn’t have escalated to this degree, alas..."
Confronted by others’ astonished gazes, Tobio indifferently inquired: "Only once, I’ll ask—Hisashiga Ira—you know where that lunatic, God City Future, is?"
