"Why?" Lin Xian asked.
"Because if you upload your consciousness to another body before you die, for you, you are essentially dead. You won’t open your eyes and co back to life. The consciousness you uploaded is rely a ’successor’ of yourself. Let give you an example so you can understand. If I copy your consciousness into a clone body exactly like yours, but you yourself haven’t died, there will be two of you in the world. So, that copied person, is it truly a continuation of your consciousness, or just a new person?"
After Ding Junyi finished speaking, she looked at Grace: "So from her perspective, it’s correct that the replicated consciousness doesn’t belong to the range of Deep Red mbers she monitors."
"Indeed." Grace responded chanically.
Lin Xian nodded with a sense of realization. He quickly understood Ding Junyi’s point: "So those people lying there, it’s unknown if they can co back to life. The Deep Red World actually isn’t sure about the feasibility of this plan either. They’ve just researched the properties of these mycelium and then packaged it as a concept of eternal life, tricking these wealthy people into being lab rats."
"Probably." Ding Junyi said: "Perhaps their consciousness really exists within the mycelium network, but such a form of life existence..."
"Flesh is weak, consciousness ascends. If it’s true, it’s not a bad way to escape the apocalypse." Lin Xian said.
"Alright, you’re right."
Lin Xian took a deep breath and chuckled lightly: "But if it weren’t for the trouble from this mycelium, I’d probably set it on fire. Might even burn a few fake sariras out of it, to serve as nutrients for the Hell Black Chrysanthemum."
Rumbling.
At this mont, weak tremors were suddenly coming from the Zero Elent Center. Lin Xian’s expression tensed, and he imdiately said to Ding Junyi: "It should be the Joint Train arriving, let’s go and take a look."
Having said that, Lin Xian led Ding Junyi outside.
But just as he took two steps, an eerie voice suddenly ca from behind.
"Lin Xian, you absolutely must not leave the city at this ti. It’s advised that you lie low underground and rest, and leave during the next active period of the mycelium."
Lin Xian stopped abruptly and turned around sharply. Intelligent Brain Grace was standing 5 ters away from him, with Chu Yan’s holographic projection staring at him, saying:
"The corpse chaser from Star Abyss No.5 appeared in this area during the last tidal cycle. If you act rashly, marked by the Dark Mark, and attract the corpse chaser, you won’t be able to escape!"
"What are you saying?!" Lin Xian’s expression changed dramatically upon hearing this, not only because of the information about the corpse chaser but mainly because, at this mont, Lin Xian felt that Grace seed nothing like a robot!
Unexpectedly, as soon as he finished speaking, Grace looked at him puzzled, then reverted to the chanical, cold female voice from before:
"I don’t understand what you an. Do you want to repeat my view on death?"
"Didn’t you just tell about the corpse chaser from Star Abyss No.5?"
Grace paused montarily, then said: "I detected a keyword-triggered voice command in a system loop. The command was generated 6 hours and 12 minutes ago, and the information has been destroyed. It’s judged as malicious intrusion. To ensure system security, I need to perform a system reboot."
Hiss.
As soon as she finished speaking, Grace’s facial holographic projection quickly dimd, and her chanical units stopped as well. Lin Xian’s chanical superpower detected that she had entered a reboot command.
"What was that she said just now?" Ding Junyi, who had walked over, also asked in confusion.
With furrowed brows, Lin Xian’s mind raced rapidly.
Six hours and 12 minutes ago, soone had implanted a trigger command into Grace, and this voice command explicitly targeted Lin Xian, indicating that this ssage was prepared for him.
This ans that soone had already known Lin Xian would arrive at this place six hours ago.
And six hours ago, Lin Xian was still asleep in the Infinity carriage under the night sky!
