"Collaborating with the Deep Red World, have you no sha, are you even human!!"
"No wonder such high walls were built, the Uncanny Human can still appear inside the city, turns out it’s a collaboration!"
"Chairman Chu, there’s a ghost in your house, do you know that!"
"The Western Desert sand bandits kidnapped so many people, yet nothing was done, there must be sothing wrong!"
"So many people gone missing, why is no one doing anything!"
"The Vice Chairman should step down, the Federation owes us an explanation!"
"Even the Vice Chairman is a person of the Deep Red World, does the Federation see us all as re livestock?!"
"Zhou Mingyuan, fuck your mother!"
...
So protested, others cursed, while more within the dium and large organizations located inside Dawn City were engaged in heated discussions, especially with the arrival of the Phoenix Society’s Heavenly Calming Ship and the ongoing Star Abyss Movent, everyone was on edge. Overnight, certain foresighted convoy groups had already started to make plans to leave the city, while so had already left during the night, heading towards Qingbo and Yongcheng Port.
At that mont, an airborne Military Patrol Ship flew past Wall No. 1, heading towards Double Star Tower Star Port. On the main bridge, Lu Tianye wore a solemn expression. His sharp features combined with a perpetually downturned mouth gave him a naturally imposing presence. His skin, bronzed from years of military life, bore a long, old scar on the right cheek. At 1.9 ters tall, he wore a deep blue Iron Hunter Armor. This specially made armor weighed over half a ton, marked with crisscrossing tal battle scars.
With his helt set aside, Lu Tianye looked coolly at the chaotic street scene below and spoke in a voice as deep as a resounding bell:
"Where is the Heavenly Calming Ship docking?"
"Currently 20 kiloters in the direction of Helan in the Outer City District, awaiting transit clearance!" the adjutant responded loudly.
"Grant passage, A1 berth, Chen Feng, take the cha garrison company and wait there."
"Yes!"
"This is likely the first ti the Phoenix Society returns to Dawn City after the Federation collapsed." Lu Tianye turned to a man standing beside him, who wore a deep blue uniform and had a tall posture: "You should know the reason the Breaking Curtain Plan was changed to the Vanguard Plan, right?"
Chu Jing, with his handso features and the presence of a military officer yet touched with a scholarly air, took a slow breath, looking at the high buildings in the city, and said:
"I know."
Lu Tianye nodded: "You don’t agree with him because you have your own views on saving humanity, but standing in his shoes, the outco remains the sa."
"I know the outco remains the sa. For humanity to survive, we must abandon old morals and do whatever it takes to keep going."
"Then why are you so resistant to the Vanguard Plan?"
"It’s not that I’m resistant to the Vanguard Plan." Chu Jing turned away indifferently: "I just think that killing hope prematurely is a matter more cruel than doomsday itself..."
"More cruel."
Watching Chu Jing’s departing figure, Lu Tianye’s gaze shifted slightly, but he said nothing more.
"General Lu." Another officer walked over at this point: "Just received an order from Vice Chairman Zhou, requesting you to go to the Earth Core Administrative Hall."
Lu Tianye waved him off, heading directly to the bridge. The heavy armor clanked against the tal floor as he said disdainfully:
"No ti now, let him wait."
"Yes!"
...
Inside the Earth Core Administrative Hall, upon hearing the subordinate’s report, Zhou Mingyuan’s face fell, but he showed no emotion. Instead, he asked,
"Has the Phoenix Society’s Heavenly Calming Ship entered the city?"
"Yes, it entered the city and will dock at Double Star Tower A1 berth in a few minutes," the secretary reported.
"Chairman Chu is welcoming them personally?"
"Yes, without notifying anyone else."
Zhou Mingyuan nodded impassively, then spoke calmly: "With guests arriving tonight and such incidents happening in the city, it’s really inconvenient for to show up."
As he spoke, he stood up, appearing earnest: "But the trouble in the city worries greatly. Xiao Li, imdiately inform the Population Control Bureau, City Defense Guard Camp commander, Night Patrol Team, Information Departnt, and Mr. Zheng to co here to discuss stabilizing the city’s situation."
"Yes, Chairman Zhou."
After the secretary left, Zhou Mingyuan’s gaze shifted. He imdiately pressed a communicator,
"Have Wen Hui co to my office imdiately!"
...
In the early hours, 2:12 am.
The Phoenix Society’s Constant Star-level warship "Heavenly Calming Ship" slowly maneuvered into A1 berth.
Chu Zhaonan stood on the docking platform of the Star Port. Behind him stood the Federation Garrison Army guard, resembling a forest of steel. Beyond them, no other officials were present. He stood alone in the center of the guard, his gaze calm as he watched the black starship’s hatch slowly open.
As the hatch opened, the previously breezy Double Star Tower Star Port inexplicably quieted down, leaving only the starlit sky. An elderly female took asured steps as she erged.
Fifty-six years old, her silver hair was like frost, her fra lean but still as erect as a pine.
Her eyes were deep and calm, as if they held ancient stars that had witnessed countless destructions and rebirths. She wore a sharp black woolen coat, cuffs embroidered with the golden emblem of the Phoenix Society. If not witnessed firsthand, few would guess that this person, who appeared a benevolent and dignified university professor, was indeed the Phoenix Society’s leader under Apocalypse Day, Ye Lan.
She descended from the Heavenly Calming Ship, followed only by a woman clad in black Power Armor, and walked into the midst of Chu Zhaonan’s steel-clad army.
As Ye Lan approached, Chu Zhaonan’s gaze changed subtly, then he nodded slightly and extended his hand.
"Chairman Ye, oh no, it should be Commander Ye, long ti no see."
Ye Lan smiled faintly, extending her hand to shake his: "Long ti no see, Chairman Chu."
Their hands briefly clasped, one steady and strong, the other firm as iron.
All around, the Federation Garrison Army remained silent, with only the distant hum of the starship’s engines.
At that mont, a sudden night wind arose.
