Chapter 609: It’s been a long ti…
In the heart of the Canadian necro-nest, a horde of zombies had gathered. At the center, Sophia and Malcolm were deep in discussion, strategizing their next harassnt tactics.
“Our Zombie Horde might be massive,” Sophia said, analyzing the situation, “but if we go head-to-head with the Arican Zombie King, we might not co out on top.”
“Why not?” Malcolm frowned, clearly not convinced.
Sophia explained, “Because that guy’s elite squad is no joke. Every one of his lieutenants is a top-tier evolved zombie. Especially those who’ve been juiced up with that enhancent serum—they’re monsters. Each one could take on ten of ours solo. And when they fight together? Their damage output multiplies like crazy.”
“Damn it! Where the hell did he get that kind of serum?”
“Ahem. That’s not really the point,” Sophia deflected, brushing off Malcolm’s question. “The real issue is those fusion-type Plant Zombie Kings. Their area-of-effect attacks are devastating. In a group fight, they’re absolute nightmares.”
Malcolm’s expression darkened as he processed her words. “Yeah… that’s a problem.” He hadn’t realized just how many trump cards the Arican necro-nest was holding.
Most of his own Zombie Kings were built like tanks—great for one-on-one brawls, but not exactly team players in a battlefield scenario.
Sophia continued, “That’s why, if we can take out Lil’ Shroom—one of his key lieutenants—it could seriously shift the balance. Ideally, we’d pick off a few more of their heavy hitters before going all-in on a final showdown.”
“Makes sense,” Malcolm nodded. He had to admit, Sophia had a sharp mind. She hadn’t survived this long against the Aricans by luck alone.
“So you’re saying… keep up the harassnt attacks? Wait for the right mont to strike down their Zombie Kings?”
“Exactly.” Sophia nodded firmly.
But just then, a breathless elite zombie ca sprinting over, panic written all over his face. “Lord Malcolm! The Arican Zombie Horde’s on the move—they’ve already clashed with the cyborgs from Genesis Biotech!”
“What? They’re fighting already?” Malcolm’s eyes widened. “That was fast…”
And here they were, still talking tactics.
“Uh…” Sophia looked a little embarrassed. All that planning suddenly felt kind of pointless.
“They wouldn’t just start fighting out of nowhere. Sothing must’ve triggered it.”
“Yeah, from what I heard… it’s over so kind of stone tablet,” the elite zombie reported.
“Stone tablet?” Malcolm blinked, completely lost. He hadn’t heard a damn thing about any tablet. For a mont, he felt like a total outsider—like the real ga was happening without him.
Wasn’t he supposed to be the main enemy?
Sophia thought for a mont, then shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. This situation actually works in our favor.”
“Oh yeah? How so?” Malcolm asked, curious.
Sophia smirked. “You know what we Aricans like to say—’Let the other idiots fight it out, and we’ll swoop in to clean up the ss.'”
…
Sophia knew this was the perfect opportunity. If they could rally the entire Canadian Zombie Horde and position themselves near the battlefield, they could wait for both sides to wear each other down—then move in for the kill.
After all, who could stand against nearly a million zombies?
Malcolm liked the sound of that. He gave the order to mobilize.
Imdiately, the Canadian zombies stirred. From every necro-nest across the region, they poured out, all heading in the sa direction.
The undead surged across the wilderness, their numbers swelling by the minute. They stord over hills, forded rivers, and charged straight toward the battlefield.
From above, the view was apocalyptic—an endless tide of zombies flooding the land, stretching as far as the eye could see. And more kept joining the swarm. The horde was becoming a tsunami of death.
Among them were mbers of the Vampire Race, regular zombies, and countless Zombie Kings, each with their own grotesque flair. It was a chaotic, terrifying mix.
High above, a sleek aircraft cut through the sky. Inside, Sophia and Malcolm watched the scene unfold below.
The full force of the Canadian undead had been unleashed—and the sight was nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Sophia clenched her fists, her eyes burning with resolve.
“This ti,” she muttered to herself, “I’m settling all scores—old and new.”
…
On the battlefield, the chanical legion and the zombie horde were still locked in brutal combat. The cyborgs were outnumbered, sure—but their firepower more than made up for it.
Ordinary zombies didn’t stand a chance. They were mowed down like weeds.
Only the elite undead could hold their ground against the machines.
Even so, Daisy 2.0 and Lil’ Shroom’s abilities were nearly useless here. Their powers, so effective against flesh and blood, barely scratched the tal monstrosities.
Only Sprout’s Vine Domain was still wreaking havoc.
His vines didn’t care if you were at or tal—they wrapped around anything in reach, then constricted like giant serpents.
The cyborgs groaned under the pressure, their tal fras creaking and twisting. Sparks flew as their bodies crumpled, crushed into heaps of scrap.
Lil’ Shroom grumbled, watching another cyborg collapse. “These tal freaks are a pain in the ass to kill.”
“Right? And there’s no fresh at in them either,” Daisy 2.0 added, clearly annoyed. “Half the ti they just blow themselves up. What a waste.”
Despite being outnumbered, the chanical army wasn’t going down easy. Their losses were slow and asured—they could hold out for a while yet.
But the real center of the storm was Ethan and LORN.
Their duel had reached a fever pitch—each clash more explosive than the last.
LORN was cycling through his arsenal of powers, unleashing one devastating ability after another.
What the hell is this guy on?! Ethan thought, gritting his teeth as he parried another blow.
Then LORN activated his fifth ability.
Thunder Force.
Electricity crackled across his body, veins of lightning pulsing under his skin like glowing circuits.
He stepped forward—and vanished.
In the blink of an eye, he reappeared mid-strike, a bolt of living lightning tearing across the battlefield straight at Ethan.
Ethan barely had ti to raise his blade.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
They clashed again and again, each impact sending shockwaves through the ground, spiderweb cracks spreading beneath their feet.
Around them, the chanical army surged forward, the zombie tide roared back, and the chaos only escalated.
But just beyond the battlefield, another wave of zombies was approaching.
They didn’t charge in recklessly. Instead, they stopped at the edge of the warzone—watching. Waiting.
Sophia narrowed her eyes. “So it’s really happening…”
She stared ahead, where wild energy surged like a storm, the sheer destructive force threatening to tear the world apart.
Even from this distance, the pressure was suffocating.
She didn’t need to see his face to know.
“That’s him,” she whispered.
Her gaze locked onto a figure in white—Ethan.
He looked just like she rembered, except the crisp white shirt he used to wear had been replaced by a long, white fur coat.
It’s been a long ti…
Beside her, Malcolm stared at the battlefield in awe. He was SS-rank himself, but even he knew—he couldn’t take either of those two.
“These guys… they’re monsters. Probably the peak of SS-tier.”
Sophia didn’t seem fazed. “Let ’em fight. Once they’re done, we move in.”
“Got it,” Malcolm nodded, eyes still fixed on the chaos ahead.
Behind them, the rest of the Canadian Zombie Horde kept pouring in—an endless, grotesque mass of snarling, shrieking undead.
And in the middle of the fight, LORN suddenly paused.
He felt it—that overwhelming bloodlust rolling in like a tidal wave.
His glowing green eyes flicked toward the horizon… and locked onto the source.
…
