"Oh, right, before I forget," Aiden reminded the system. "Look for an OBGYN among the new tenants. With this new blessing, we need one ASAP."

[Already on it, Host. While I was doing that, I found sothing else that was interesting.]

Aiden was surprised. What could she have possibly found that he would be interested in? Other than perhaps another child of destiny?

[A plumber.]

"..."

He looked around and shrugged. The tenants there had already gotten used to bathing out of a bucket, but sure, having a plumber was good.

"Is it a woman?" he asked, not because he wanted it to be one, but because he thought it had to be soone from Joan’s camp.

[Nope. Three plumbers, all eunuchs.]

"...at least they get to play with so pipes after losing theirs," Aiden chuckled. "Alright, I’ll leave the contracts to you. Make sure they get to work at once. I have a feeling it would take a while to get water running all over the building."

[Right, Host. Oh, and what should I do if soone rejects the contract? There had been a few—]

"Evict them, well, on second thought, have the ghouls change their minds. If they still don’t want to stay, then evict them. Let them experience the harshness of life outside the barrier."

The system didn’t have any more matters to discuss with Aiden and imdiately got to work. At the sa ti, a list was sent to all the participants in the battle.

It was a ranking based on their contribution, and next to their na was the reward they got for the said rank. Even the worst-performing individuals received an entire week of free food.

While the top three perforrs got a make-a-wish coupon. Technically, it was top four, not top three, as two people tied for the second spot. Conveniently, all three perforrs were already close to Aiden.

First was Milarel, which was expected since she had infiltrated the enemy camp and not only gathered crucial intel but also helped ’break’ the enemy commander.

Karina and Carmila tied for the second place. After all, they both defended the building and defeated foes that the rest couldn’t handle.

And lastly, Lina. If not for her traps and explosives, dealing with an army of eunuchs as evolvers like Greta would be very difficult.

"I’ll look forward to what they would wish for," Aiden smiled, entering the elevator.

The tal box had just started to climb the floors when the system reappeared before Aiden.

[Um, Host, you might want to head to the dicare center.]

"And why is that?"

[Alisha just fainted.]

As soon as she said that, another notification appeared before Aiden.

[Congratulations on successfully conceiving your first descendant!]

[Descendant ability card: Infinite Firepower has been awarded to you!]

"..."

Aiden stared at the notification for a long mont. Then calmly pressed the button to open the elevator doors.

However, just doing that used up all of his patience.

He didn’t wait for the elevator doors to fully open. He squeezed through the gap the second there was enough space and ran towards the staircase. With his stats, he would be faster than the elevator either way.

A few residents who were coming down the stairs flattened themselves against the railing as he ran past them. Everyone wondered why soone who remained calm when fighting an army on his doorstep was suddenly so panicked.

By the ti he burst through the door of the dicare center, his breathing was elevated, partially due to all the running but mostly from excitent.

A few people sat in the plastic chairs along the wall, all of their eyes fixed on Aiden. Unlike them, he didn’t have to ask soone for help.

The receptionist at the front desk was a young woman with a neat bun and round glasses. She looked up from her docunts, saw Aiden, and imdiately ran up to him.

"Room 29, sir!" she said, beaming with a smile. "She’s waiting for you."

"Thank you," Aiden nodded and ran down the hall.

An old lady saw the short conversation between the two and couldn’t help but inquire, just like all aunties would for a juicy piece of gossip.

"What’s going on with the lord?" she asked the receptionist. "I’ve never seen him like that."

The receptionist followed the old woman’s gaze down the corridor and smiled.

"Nothing serious," she said, returning to her work. "The landlord is just suffering through fatherhood."

The old woman blinked twice before imdiately hurrying out.

"Ma’am, you’re up next!" the receptionist called for her, but the woman just dismissively waved her hand.

"Oh, these rusted knees can wait for treatnt," she said. "Informing others of such news is more important!"

anwhile, Aiden burst through into the room and saw Alisha propped up against the pillows on the bed, her hair slightly loose around her shoulders.

Jewell stood by her side, probably giving her a pep talk about what little he had learned through the mandatory training as a resident period as a doctor.

Lily was perched on the edge of the mattress beside Alisha, her small legs dangling off the side, listening to the doctor with intense concentration without understanding the aning behind a single word.

Aiden didn’t enter the room, just leaned against the doorfra with his arms folded, and watched. Alisha hadn’t noticed him yet. She was nodding along to sothing Doctor Jewell was saying, her hand resting lightly on her stomach.

"Big bro!" Lily exclaid upon seeing Aiden and jumped off the bed, rushing into his arms. "Mommy said I’m going to be a big sister!"

"Easy there, little one," Aiden smiled, carefully lifting her in his arms. "Did you forget about your injury?"

Alisha looked at him and smiled too. For a mont, neither of them said anything. Aiden, still carrying Lily, walked over and sat on the chair by the bed.

"I’ll leave you two to it then," Jewell nodded and gave Aiden a quick bow. "Also, congratulations, sir."

"Thank you," Aiden replied with a nod, without taking his eyes off Alisha.

As soon as he was out, Aiden leaned forward and kissed Alisha. Alisha chuckled and kissed him back, running her hands through his hair.

"See, told you I’m a man of my word," he said, his hand gently caressing her stomach.

"I never doubted you for a second," she smiled back, caressing his face.

All this ti, Lily waited patiently. She had sat through the kissing without complaint, which she felt deserved so recognition on its own.

She had looked away and studied the ceiling, and then studied her own fingernails, and then studied the ceiling again. She had waited a reasonable amount of ti for the two adults to rember that she existed.

However, she ran out of patience and poked both of them before crossing her arms and pouting. Both of them looked at her and smiled, before pulling her in for a family hug.

"Better?" Aiden asked.

"Hm..." Lily replied, giving a quick peck on their cheeks. "Yes. Lily won’t demand more attention. Lily is a big sister now, after all."

Hearing her words, the couple couldn’t help but hug her tightly while laughing.

After Lily fell asleep, the two got to talking about what happened.

"I wanted to help with the cleanup after the battle, but then I thought to eat sothing first, but only after a couple of bites, I felt extrely nauseous."

Aiden nodded, realizing that was when the system integrated the skill for him. The blessing must have pushed her gestation period ahead in ti and hence, the pregnancy.

"It’s one good news after another," Aiden smiled, kissing her forehead again. "I can’t wait to see the little one in a month!"

"A month? Aiden, these things take a while—"

"Not with around," Aiden chuckled and told her all about his new blessing.

Alisha was surprised. Out of all the strange powers she had heard about, this was the most ridiculous one to date. If it had been anyone else, she would have told them to screw off and get away from them as soon as possible.

"So... our baby will be an Evolver too?" Alisha asked.

"Yes, one with infinite firepower, at least that’s what I think, considering I got a strange reward."

Saying so, he pulled out the said talent card from his inventory. It was a gold embossed card with an image of a machine gun spewing out an endless stream of bullets.

"Um... Aiden, I’m kind of worried about the baby," she mumbled, looking weirdly at the talent card.

Unlike her, Aiden was ecstatic.

Why? Because the talent card could be registered in the shop.

Infinite cards for infinite firepower.

If he sold it to the tenants, wouldn’t their fighting power increase significantly? Imagine guns with never-ending bullets. Sure, they would have to take things like cooldown and jamming, etc., but still, it was a great improvent.

A child with such power was destined to rule over the ruined world.

A wonderfully broken child of the demon lord!
