Apocalypse Landlord: My Tenants Are All Beautiful Heroines. Chapter 23: Management Skill Upgrade
[Proceed with constructing Workshop?]
No. Also, why are you always in a hurry to get things done? I’m not speedrunning this apocalypse.
Aiden had guessed there would be multiple utility rooms based on the resources he scavenged. But there were only two utility rooms available.
He was in no hurry to start the construction of a room for learning more about the said rooms. Especially when scavenging was the only known way of getting utility resources.
But first, there was sothing else he had to do.
"Alright, everyone, back to your rooms," he said, waving everyone away.
Although confused, Jas, Karina, and the Wolves went to unlock the new rooms. However, each door was sealed shut.
"Um... boss? Why can’t I enter my unit?" Jas mumbled, trying to enter the apartnt with the open doors but still couldn’t.
[Unit assignnt through contracts is required.]
I have to assign them personally?
[Yes. Previously, the host only had one spare unit. Hence, all tenants had access to that unit.]
[Now the host has multiple units and must assign units to each tenant by ntioning the unit in the contract.]
System, you beauty!
Aiden had been wondering how to get Jas and Alisha to sign new contracts, only for the system to hand over the opportunity to him. But then, how co Alisha could access his apartnt?
[The host already gave her access to his dwelling. I do not possess the authority to overwrite the host’s desires without their permission.]
[Besides, she is your woman, isn’t she?]
"Ahem, new changes have been made to the facilities," Aiden said, clearing his throat. "I’ll need you all to sign new contracts."
[Apartnt 1501 has been assigned to tenant: Jas Irwin]
[Apartnt 1502 has been assigned to tenant: Karina Shaw]
[Apartnt 1508 has been assigned to tenants: Glenn Thompson, Marcus Holloway, and Damian Saint.]
There were plenty of units for everyone to have their own space. Yet Aiden still made the wolves share a unit, and the ones right between the stairs and the elevator.
Why?
First, because they were guards in his eyes. By placing them next to the two entry points essentially made the entire floor a bit safer. Just in case an evolver with the ability to bypass the barrier appeared, they’d be the first to react.
Second, they didn’t get to enjoy the sa treatnt as Karina, who was their superior, and also because Jas had ulterior motives towards her. Having her isolated made it easier to manipulate her.
As for Jas, Aiden would have made him share the sa unit as the wolves if not for Lily. Since he would get regular visitation, it was only right for Lily to enjoy her old place without a bunch of strangers roaming around.
What about Alisha and Lily, you ask? They were official residents of Aiden’s unit. Naturally, when Alisha signed the contract, her desire for Aiden also rose.
After all, they were ’officially’ moving in together. It was the next step in their 1-day-old relationship.
Aiden expected the wolves to object. Instead, they seed elated to be together. Aiden thought it was probably because they’d each get their own rooms for once after the apocalypse began.
However, that wasn’t the case.
"Oi, benevolent landlord, how did you know?" Karina asked while stepping inside her unit.
"Know what?"
"They’re a throuple."
"...I see."
Aiden thought his luck was weird. So far, he had recruited a wimp, two beautiful ladies, a child, and a homosexual throuple. While he was all for diversity, this wasn’t what he had in mind when he returned.
Now that everyone was busy with their own thing, Aiden opened the new tab that appeared alongside his class upgrade.
[Construction]
[New facilities are available! Please click on them for brief information regarding them.]
[> Workshop]
[> dicare center]
[> Cafeteria]
[> Gym]
[> Warehouse]
[> Body Modification] (Locked! Requires level 3 dicare center.)
"As always, the first thing I wanted is locked behind so stupid upgrade. Why even give the option if it’s locked?"
[To motivate the host into speedrunning the apocalypse.]
Aiden rolled his eyes and clicked on the workshop first.
[Workshop: Allows creating and repairing Evo-Gear. It can also create blueprints by analyzing Evo-Gear. Evo-Gears created through the workshop get bonus stats and unique passives.]
[Requires a tenant with proficiency of 5 or higher to operate.]
"And here I thought it was only good for using blueprints, nothing else," Aiden said, shaking his head. "Still, registering Evo-Gear in the shop is better for mass production. What is this proficiency thingy though?"
[Every tenant has different proficiencies in various tasks. Assigning tenants to work they are proficient in yields higher rewards.]
[Additionally, continuously working in a certain field would increase their proficiency in that field. However, the progress would be slow if the tenants don’t have any talent for the work.]
"Ah, so now I have to upgrade my [Managent] skill to view their detailed profiles and assign them work?"
[Affirmative.]
"Interesting. Next!"
Similar to the workshop, the dicare center required a doctor to work.
It was the sa with the cafeteria and gym, which needed a person with high cooking efficiency and a peak physique, respectively. Even the warehouse required soone with high proficiency in resource managent.
Aiden thought he would create the utility rooms first before upgrading the skills, but that would be a waste. After all, there would be no point in having a utility room if no one could operate it.
[Use 1 skill point to upgrade the skill to level 2?]
"Yes."
[Skill upgraded!]
