"What a rudintary place," Kuangliu couldn’t help but sigh. "Truth be told, most settlents in the post-apocalyptic world looked this shabby."
Places managed by the military were sowhat better. But in places without military control, who would expend significant effort on infrastructure developnt?
The Las Vegas Assembly Site was quite large, but it was riddled with dilapidated buildings, where raggedly dressed survivors shuffled back and forth. Small-scale skirmishes frequently erupted—among humans, between humans and mutant cats and dogs, or among mutant beasts.
Of course, the scale of these conflicts was usually small, and they often ended very quickly. Five months of post-apocalyptic life had forged a set of unwritten rules among the survivors: Survival first, spoils second! It had to be said, life’s ability to adapt was quite formidable.
As Wen Yu and Kuangliu drew closer to the Red Stone Hotel, the surrounding scenery slowly began to change. The dilapidated ruins, initially indistinguishable from other small settlents, gradually gave way to neatly arranged wooden shacks. More and more professionists were seen, their attire noticeably cleaner. The garbage and filth on the streets had vanished, replaced by provocatively dressed courtesans striking poses by the roadside.
"Handso, wanna have fun? Just two Level 2 magic crystals, and I’m all yours tonight."
"Three Level 2 magic crystals for a threeso, dear."
Nurous self-promotions echoed from the surrounding streets, and the scent of cheap perfu made Wen Yu frown. Kuangliu was clearly uncomfortable in this environnt as well and quickened his pace towards the Red Stone Hotel in the distance.
It was rather interesting, according to Old Sam, that the three big shots of Sin City—despite each having their own territory—harbored no real animosity or deep-seated conflicts amongst themselves.
Mama-san Annie controlled all the prostitutes in Sin City! Any woman wanting to make a living with her body had to first register in Mama-san Annie’s territory. If discovered "operating without a license," Mama-san Annie would teach her what the rules ant.
Claus, on the other hand, controlled most of the city’s comrcial establishnts, including casinos, real estate, food and water supplies, and even oversaw the exchange of magic crystals and the buying and selling of materials from mutant creatures!
Finally, Yang Hong was Sin City’s martial enforcer. He and his n ensured the safety both inside and outside the city.
And the most interesting point was that although the Red Stone Hotel was Claus’s territory, most of its patrons were Yang Hong’s people, while all the prostitutes working there belonged to Mama-san Annie! It was no wonder then that in this settlent, only Yang Hong and his powerful professionists could afford to frequent the Red Stone Hotel.
Wen Yu and Kuangliu now stood at the entrance of the Red Stone Hotel, gazing at the massive doors, lost in their own thoughts.
The Red Stone Hotel was a conversion of the original MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. When the apocalypse began, a small part of its internal facilities was destroyed. However, once the zombies were cleared out, Claus took over the MGM Grand Hotel as his stronghold, renad it the Red Stone Hotel, and refurbished it, turning it into a landmark of Sin City. Its na was famous—or infamous—not just in Sin City, but also frequently spoken of in nearby settlents! Regardless of its reputation, one thing was certain: this was the largest Cave of Gold in the area!
Of course, Wen Yu and Kuangliu weren’t here to spend money.
"What should we do? Burst in directly?"
Given Wen Yu’s usual approach, he could have easily had Star and Cyclops enlarge themselves to ’invite’ Claus over. But with Kuangliu present, Wen Yu naturally wanted to hear his opinion. After all, it was Kuangliu, not Wen Yu, who needed information about the Cathay military. Strictly speaking, Wen Yu was only here to help Kuangliu.
Kuangliu shook his head. "If we can resolve this with words, it’s better not to use force; there are too many variables otherwise! Let’s sneak in using the thod from the 855th floor of the Demon Town Tower. And rember, don’t kill Claus. If we kill him, I’m afraid we’ll have to rely on brute force to achieve our objective!"
Old Sam only knew Claus’s location; he was completely unaware of Annie’s and Yang Hong’s whereabouts, not even their general vicinity!
"Alright then," Wen Yu readily agreed.
The two then found a relatively concealed spot, and Wen Yu activated the Soul Realm space. Cyclops and Star were imdiately recalled into it, and Wen Yu swiftly entered a combat stance.
Pitch-dark Divine Light enveloped Wen Yu. In the next second, his form seed to dissolve, slowly rging into the surrounding shadows. This was one of the variants of the Pitch-dark Divine Light ability! Then, the darkness slowly dissipated, and Wen Yu had vanished.
Only a voice, seemingly coming from all directions, was heard: "Wait for at the main entrance. It won’t take long."
Then, the darkness surged. A shadow, even purer than the surrounding gloom yet perfectly blended with it, swiftly moved towards the interior of the Red Stone Hotel.
The interior of the Red Stone Hotel was opulent. Dozens of beautifully dressed, graceful female staff moved briskly through the spacious reception hall, while guests occasionally entered or exited the elevators. Yet, no one noticed a dark shadow, concealed within the ambient gloom, observing the entire Red Stone Hotel!
To beco darkness, then rge into darkness... And what was more terrifying was that darkness was omnipresent!
Within the entire Red Stone Hotel, every shadow served as Wen Yu’s eyes. It took him less than ten seconds to pinpoint Claus’s location: the topmost floor of the Red Stone Hotel.
Then, a ripple of dark light flickered. In the next instant, Wen Yu’s consciousness arrived at a shadow on the top floor. His physical form slowly materialized as he watched the live erotic show perford by Claus and three female attendants, leisurely taking a sip of red wine from a nearby table.
Perhaps the sound of Wen Yu smacking his lips after sipping the wine startled Claus, as Claus noticeably froze. The three won beneath him, however, hadn’t yet realized what was happening and continued their lewd cries of "I want more" and similar phrases.
Wen Yu had learned from Old Sam that Claus was a Middle Stage Level 4 professionist, so it was hardly surprising that he could hear the faint sound of wine being sipped.
Therefore, for once, Wen Yu took the initiative to explain, "I an no harm."
