Normally, the Almighty Demon Vine would absorb a Demon's Flesh and Blood like drinking through a straw, inserting its tendrils into the Demon Fiend's body to siphon the contents.
The process sounded terrifying but wasn't bloody at all!
However, Wen Yu now felt that, likely due to swallowing the essence from the vine's core, the Almighty Demon Vine was behaving far more brutally than usual.
In the blink of an eye, the erald-green tendrils bristled with sharp spikes, resembling a robust python as they lashed out, striking the Demon Fiend's body.
The barbed tendrils instantly shredded the Demon Fiend's body, sending blood and flesh flying everywhere. The Almighty Demon Vine, however, completely ignored the gore scattered on the ground and imdiately attacked another Demon Fiend!
In just a few short seconds, after completely grinding the Demon Fiends into a pulp, the Almighty Demon Vine seed to show off by waving its tendrils up and down a couple of tis before burrowing directly into the earth.
Its bulging tendrils absorbed not only the blood and minced flesh from the ground but also a more wondrous energy from the earth itself, which was then transmitted to Wen Yu's body via the Almighty Demon Vine.
Wen Yu felt the unfamiliar energy slowly filling his body before gradually dissipating...
Wen Yu flexed his arm slightly—the Almighty Demon Vine still retained its original attributes: it devoured Demon's Flesh and Blood, using a small portion for its own growth and transferring the majority to Wen Yu to raise his physiological limit.
However, Wen Yu was sowhat perplexed by the wondrous energy just transmitted from the ground. This energy didn't raise his physiological limit, nor did he notice any other benefits.
Just as Wen Yu was frowning in thought, the Almighty Demon Vine had completely cleared the ground of all flesh and blood. Then, a faint, weak Spiritual Fluctuation was transmitted into Wen Yu's mind.
"Good... stuff... still... hungry..."
'Good stuff...' Wen Yu thought. That probably referred to the unknown energy fluctuations that had just been transmitted.
Although the Almighty Demon Vine called it a "good thing," Wen Yu wasn't convinced. He ticulously inspected his body again and suddenly discovered sothing different.
He realized that after the Almighty Demon Vine had absorbed several Demon Fiends, not only had his physiological limit increased, but his Soul Strength had also grown!
At this thought, a flash of insight struck Wen Yu. Could this Almighty Demon Vine have gained the ability to absorb Soul Power?
And that 'good stuff' from before—could those unknown energy fluctuations be the cause of this?

When the user activates the Book of Black, Soul Puppets will appear directly around the user and initiate Soul occupation of nearby creatures or relatively intact corpses, thereby controlling the target units. The level of controlled units depends on the Soul Puppet's level.
Several months had passed since Wen Yu acquired the Book of Black (Summoning Chapter).
However, as Wen Yu's arsenal of abilities grew and his strength increased, he still hadn't used the Book of Black (Summoning Chapter) to this day.

The Soul Battlefield also couldn't be released casually—doing so would an no Demon's Flesh and Blood could be used to raise his physiological limit, and the efficiency was too low.
The Almighty Demon Vine's current evolution was equivalent to greatly enhancing Wen Yu's "waste utilization" thods!
Poor Book of Black (Summoning Chapter)... Its usefulness had diminished even further...
However, there was still one thing Wen Yu didn't understand.
"What is this 'good stuff' you're talking about? And what benefit does it have for ?"
The unknown energy transmitted from the Almighty Demon Vine's body wasn't the energy Wen Yu had thought could increase Soul Strength. Therefore, Wen Yu was still fixated on the purpose of that unknown energy. Good or bad, he couldn't just take the Almighty Demon Vine's word for it!
After being nourished by two waves of Demon Fiends, coupled with the Soul Power drifting about its core as sustenance, the Almighty Demon Vine's nascent Soul had passed through the perilous fledgling stage, and its strength had clearly increased.
Furthermore, due to their contractual bond, the Almighty Demon Vine could now briefly communicate with Wen Yu.
