In another four kiloters, he would be able to break through the second line of defense and escape back into the heart of Zerg Race territory.
Seeing this, Qin Hu understood his goal and imdiately sped up in reckless pursuit.
At this point, any vehicle had beco a burden to them.
With speeds exceeding 300 kiloters per hour, the mobility and flexibility of their own two feet were far superior to that of a sports car.
As Qin Hu gave his all in the chase, the one-kiloter gap between them shrank, and soon he caught sight of Cheng Zhan’s retreating figure.
Just over thirty seconds later, the two figures appeared just outside the second line of defense!
Faced with the ten-plus-ter-high city wall and the ten-plus-ter-wide moat surrounding it, Qin Hu knew his opponent had nowhere to run for the mont. He quickened his pace, closing in step by step.
Unexpectedly, however, the main fortress behind Cheng Zhan seed to know he was coming, and its rear gate opened on its own, allowing him inside the defensive periter.
’This is bad!’ Qin Hu thought grimly.
’He has accomplices in the main fortress too!’
Seeing the gap in the iron gate about to close, Qin Hu broke into an all-out sprint. Ten ters from the fortress, he pushed off hard with his left foot...
Empowered by the muscles of the Tiger Spine Zergs!
His entire body launched more than twenty ters into the air, landing atop the defensive bastion. From there, he saw that Cheng Zhan had already crossed the pontoon bridge and reached the opposite riverbank.
He was now less than a kiloter away from the Zerg Race’s occupied territory. If Cheng Zhan managed to get into a Wormhole, not only would he leak a vast amount of the Human Race’s operational intelligence, it would also expose the Genetic Warrior project prematurely.
More importantly, the old and new hatreds festering in Qin Hu’s heart would go unanswered!
At that mont, Qin Hu was burning with fury. His reason was consud by rage. He charged toward the riverbank alone, completely disregarding the danger posed by the Zerg Race and his own safety.
If he were to be sward by Zergs and besieged by several Tier Two Tiger Spine Zergs, Qin Hu—lacking any weapons or Armor—would surely die in battle with his regrets, even as a Genetic Warrior.
And this exact scenario beca reality the mont he caught up to Cheng Zhan.
In the distance, a Wormhole suddenly caved in, forming a deep pit over ten ters wide.
Imdiately after, a squad of Tiger Spine Zergs erged from it—three Tier Two Tiger Spine Zergs in total.
They had received a ssage and co to retrieve the parasitic host!
Cheng Zhan promptly ducked behind them and leaped onto the back of one of the Tiger Spine Zergs. Looking back at the now-surrounded Qin Hu, he mocked him loudly:
"Major Qin, since you enjoy chasing so much, I trust you won’t mind a personal trip back to the Nest with ?"
"I’m sure Her Majesty, the Mother Empress, will be very interested in you!"
"Humanity is dood to fail; the Human Race is dood to perish."
"Your current State won’t last long. As ti goes on, you’ll experience severe side effects, leading to your death."
"Join us, and the great Mother Empress will find a way for you to survive."
At that mont, seeing the smug, triumphant look on his face, Qin Hu was overco with such fury that blood began to stream from his eyes and nose!
He leaped up to lunge at him, only to be viciously swatted down by the limb of a Tiger Spine Zerg, sending him crashing to the ground.
Just as the first Genetic Warrior of the Human Race was about to be captured alive by the Zerg Race, a cacophonous buzzing and flapping of wings suddenly echoed from the distance.
Hearing the familiar sound, Cheng Zhan and the Tiger Spine Zergs paid it little mind, assuming it was a Cyan-winged Swarm sent by the Mother Empress to scout the situation.
But in the next mont, a colossal gunshot rang out.
A flash of fire followed...
The Tiger Spine Zerg that Cheng Zhan was standing on exploded from within.
A blazing fireball ten ters in diater instantly engulfed Cheng Zhan as he tumbled down.
The violent shockwave blasted the frail human body to pieces, churning the organs within his torso into a pulp...
As what was left of Cheng Zhan hit the ground, the lingering Spiritual consciousness of the parasitic host, in a daze, saw a yellow and black figure hovering in the distant sky, holding a gun.
The muzzle of that gun was already aid at the two remaining Tiger Spine Zergs.
Two more shots rang out in quick succession, finishing them off...
An entire squad of Tiger Spine Zergs, wiped out in an instant!
Lin Feng remained expressionless as he looked at the notifications that appeared before him:
