A fiery explosion erupted from the mouth of the Level 28 Tiger Spine Zerg, and the thermal shockwave instantly shattered the thick muscles connecting its upper and lower Giant Mandibles.

With the ligants torn, its heavy lower jaw swung down, held on only by scraps of flesh.

Due to inertia, the massive Zerg’s body toppled onto the main road, kicking up a shower of sparks.

It slid for dozens of ters, smashing the stone pillars of the central dian to bits before finally coming to a stop.

Seeing their leader fall, the Tiger Spine Zergs behind it screeched to a halt, their sharp legs plunging into the road, tearing up the asphalt and digging deep pits.

Two kiloters away on the Battleship, Lin Feng had not yet received the notification for a successful kill.

He used his Identification Skill to check again. The heavily injured Level 28 Tiger Spine Zerg had only taken 700 points of Damage and still had 180 Life Value remaining.

Lin Feng didn’t hesitate. This was no ti for capturing live specins. If this big fish got away, all his efforts would be for nothing.

He pulled the trigger three tis in a row, aiming at the fallen Level 28 Tiger Spine Zerg.

The first Armor-Piercing Cannon shell finished it off. The next two shells passed through the shattered Zerg’s body and hit two Tier Two Middle Stage Tiger Spine Zergs behind it.

However, since he hadn’t locked on with Eye of the Death God, the shots only destroyed parts of their torsos and limbs, leaving them still mobile.

One Level 28 Tiger Spine Zerg killed!

After confirming the greatest threat had been eliminated, Lin Feng no longer hesitated. While the other Tiger Spine Zergs had yet to react, he activated the Eye of the Death God’s attribute again, pre-aiming to lock onto the remaining targets.

But the Tiger Spine Zergs didn’t retreat or scatter at their leader’s death. They continued to follow the Mother Empress’s command, pressing their attack toward the Land Patrol Battleship.

The Mother Empress also knew that once they closed the distance, the long-range advantage of human firearms would be nullified, and the Tiger Spine Zergs’ Giant Mandibles could be put to use.

However, even if it only took them a minute to cross the short two-kiloter distance, it was more than enough ti for Lin Feng to lock on.

Twenty seconds later, Lin Feng decisively pulled the trigger.

Fifteen shells were fired in a rapid volley!

The shells struck the eyes located under the Back Armor on the Tiger Spine Zergs’ torsos. Violent explosions erupted from within their pupils, shattering their brains and killing them one by one.

One Tier Two Early Stage Tiger Spine Zerg at the very back, using a building for cover, was only hit by shrapnel from the explosions and didn’t die.

It only lost half a leg and about a hundred Life Value.

Limping, the Tiger Spine Zerg scuttled to the side, using the building as cover in an attempt to escape.

Lin Feng frowned. Although he could lock onto its presence with his Mind Sensing, the Armor-Piercing Cannon couldn’t penetrate the multiple layers of concrete walls of the intervening building.

He could either order Chen Yanyan to give chase in the Battleship, or he could use the Flying Tiger Armor for an aerial pursuit.

If he chose the forr, the team mbers’ Replica weapons would beco useless once the Battleship moved away, and they would be devoured by the Zergs. As for the latter, Lin Feng wanted to save the Flying Tiger Armor’s Flight Mode for a critical mont. A single use would consu one reserve point, which was equivalent to the Giant Mandibles of ten Black Spine Zergs or one Tiger Spine Zerg.

Using it just to kill a single Tier Two Early Stage Tiger Spine Zerg seed like a waste.

As Lin Feng was silently deliberating, he quickly discovered a familiar point of light on his Mind Sensing scan.

Detection Skills like Mind Sensing and Life Radar could not only detect the Zerg Race but also Human Awakeners.

A rapidly moving point of light was fast approaching the injured Level 22 Tiger Spine Zerg from the side.

It had about two hundred Life Value remaining. Besides its impaired mobility, its combat power was not significantly diminished; it still possessed seventy percent of its strength.

The one pursuing it alone was none other than Shen Jie, the strongest individual on the team aside from Lin Feng himself.

He was currently driving an off-road vehicle, hunting down the fleeing Tiger Spine Zerg.

After weaving through a section of the city, he appeared behind it.

Shen Jie leaned out of the car window and used his Level 19 Scatter Cannon to lay down suppressing fire. He fired more than a dozen rounds, but due to the moving vehicle and his own limited marksmanship, only three or four shots connected, dealing a paltry fifty to sixty Damage.

Once the off-road vehicle drove out of the Replica’s effective range, Shen Jie tossed the weapon into the back. He then executed a drifting U-turn, screeched to a halt, and leaped out of the car in a flash.

By the ti he landed on his feet, he had already activated his Assimilation Superpower and transford into the Black Knight.

Two-ter-long blades sprouted from his arms, and his Physique Attribute soared. Vicious-looking Black Armor covered his entire body, exuding a dangerous aura.

His Physique Attribute finally reached 225, pushing him into the Tier Two Early Stage. The qualitative change from this new value was subtly transforming his body’s structure...

...making him look more and more like a Zerg.

The Tiger Spine Zerg, three to four hundred ters away, had clearly noticed Shen Jie’s presence and the intense hostility radiating from him!

Although Shen Jie had only assimilated the flesh and genes of the Tier One Zerg Race, his Spiritual Value had not yet dropped below that of a Tier Two Tiger Spine Zerg. As a result, his brain remained in full control of his body, and he felt no fear toward the Tier Two Tiger Zergs.

But from the Tiger Spine Zerg’s perspective, for a lowly Tier One Black Spine Zerg to dare provoke it...

This was an unforgivable act!

The class hierarchy within the Zerg Race was extrely rigid.

This was not only due to genetic and tier-based suppression but was also a practical necessity for ensuring the stability of the Nest!

Any act of insubordination would be t with the most severe punishnt!

That punishnt was to be killed and reabsorbed into the Nest!

So, even though the Tiger Spine Zerg was injured, it had confird that Lin Feng was no longer attacking from a distance. The original command to retreat to the Nest was still in its mind. However, upon seeing Shen Jie transford into the Black Knight, a different directive took over. The genetic imperative to eliminate a "defective product" now held higher priority than the temporary mission assigned by the Mother Empress.
