Max nodded. "Give a few days, Teacher."
Archmage Arlen chuckled. "If it wasn’t from the confidence of your tone, I would really laugh it off."
Archmage Arlen grabbed a pouch from his pocket, took out five silver coins, and placed it at the table, pushing it forward to Max.
Max was utterly surprised. His heart skipped a beat.
Five silver coins is equal to five hundred copper coins. I can even buy Common rank equipnt from that!
However, to equip a Common rank equipnt required him to advance to D-Rank.
Max planned to keep the money for now.
Archmage Arlen said, "Use that money to buy proper clothes and the mage trainee’s robe. Also, ask the receptionist later about giving you a na tag. Don’t hold back on spending, I’ll reward you with money again once you beco an arcane caster."
Max’s eyes sparkled with excitent. The idea of keeping the money for proper spending instantly disappeared.
He nodded frantically as he grabbed the silver coins to his pocket, which instantly disappeared to his inventory.
Archmage Arlen chuckled, discerning how obvious Max was.
He then took out a badge from his pocket and threw it at Max. The latter caught it swiftly before it collided with his forehead.
Archmage Arlen was amused. "Nice reflex you got there as a mage."
Max chuckled and expressed his gratitude.
Archmage Arlen said, "Use that badge for infinite ti in the mana sensitivity chamber. Honestly, I was surprised you lasted nine hours there. A normal mage trainee wouldn’t even last for five hours as the mana from that place would overwhelm soone who doesn’t know about the mana circulation breathing technique.
So would even go crazy just by visualizing the amount of mana in their surroundings to increase their mana sensitivity proficiency.
That was how you caught my attention."
Max bead a smile.
Archmage Arlen continued, "I don’t know about your limit since you could extend it if it wasn’t because you only registered for nine hours. However, I must still warn you from mana deviation. Don’t overdo it. You can still spend so of your ti studying the language of magic."
Max nodded as he pushed the badge on his pocket, to which it instantly disappeared on his inventory, covering one slot.
Archmage Arlen continued to chat with Max for soti, mostly testing Max’s knowledge about magic.
To his surprise, Max was quite knowledgeable. Of course, Archmage Arlen based his question from his lesson earlier and he had never expected Max to answer them efficiently.
He inevitably began becoming suspicious about Max—his answer was too perfect that he seed to have already built foundational knowledge about magic.
He questioned him outside of what he taught earlier, but to his shock, Max couldn’t answer, appearing to be even ignorant about the subject.
In the end, Archmage Arlen spent another three hours teaching Max.
Max, on the other hand, was careless about spending more than six hours inside the ga, mostly about knowledge in magic.
He might already have possessed knowledge about magic but the conversation with Archmage Arlen was enlightening.
He didn’t have opportunities like this before. Hence, he would not waste it.
All the confusion he had before that he had forgotten purposely since he lacked a ntor was now cleared by Archmage Arlen.
He was deeply indebted to him.
Eventually, in just a span of three hours, they already covered all the required knowledge in D-Rank and C-Rank Mage.
Archmage Arlen wanted to continue at B-Rank, hoping for inspiration to gain with their conversation, but Max suddenly asked about the difference of the C-Rank Mage Classes.
Max stated he only knew about the Elentalist, so Archmage Arlen spent quite so ti ruminating on his answers.
He said, "The Spellblade is a hybrid mage who fuses magic with lee combat. They enhanced weapons with magic. They have a strong offense in close combat, have faster spell execution through weapon techniques, and certainly more durable than most mages but it has limited long-range capability and lower magical versatility than pure casters.
You even need to have a physical combat skill, too.
Summoner, on the other hand, is a mage who fights by calling external entities or creatures to battle in their place. Most of their summons are elental spirits, magical beasts, construct guardians, and contracted entities.
However, Summoner mages are limited and controlled, being most of them required to report to the Empire every of their summon and their activities. There have been instances in the past that a Summoner contracted demons—mostly to take revenge for them—and so even beca an undead for immortality.
Ironically, the first Emperor was a summoner.
He could summon knights with light-attributes. He could summon an army of them that drove off every demon and monster.
He was feared by other races."
After hearing a shocking revelation from Archmage Arlen, Max’s heart skipped a beat.
He asked with a tone filled with anticipation, "If the first Emperor was still alive? What rank did he attain?"
Archmage Arlen was utterly surprised at how ignorant Max was. Out of the ten digits emperor who succeeded the first emperor, it would always be the latter whose story has beco an urban legend even in the backward place like this.
Max, on the other hand, was really ignorant about the first emperor. He wouldn’t care in the first place. He was unlike those players in the past who was able to build a high relationship status with respectable npc and earned a main quest to know about the kingdom’s background.
All he wanted was to earn money.
Of course, he could rember the current emperor and the age of the empire—the empire’s na and all of its region.
However, he had never stepped foot in its capital city, and only remained in one village and one capital city of its region.
Max’s knowledge was limited.
Even if the first emperor, being a summoner who could summon knights with light-attributes, had beco a legend, his knowledge had never stepped foot to such important information.
Archmage Arlen creased his eyebrows and replied, "As far as I rember, he was a Demi-God. In other words, SS-Rank. So, yes, he’s still alive."
