Now reading: Chapter 170: Stella Sterling in Peril? from Apocalypse Rebirth: Crazy from Day One, a Sci-fi novel by A Fu.

She opened her eyes and saw her daughter, held in the arms of a young woman wearing a helt.

She hurriedly took the child back, weeping with joy. "Thank you, thank you..."

The little girl hugged her mother tightly.

The people around helped pull the mother and daughter into the crowd, where everyone huddled together, hand in hand.

After handing the child to her mother, Stella Sterling turned and left.

She saw Basil Xavier and, noticing he was being protected by others, looked away.

"Miss Sterling, you’re here. Please co this way with , and be careful."

Just then, a mber of ridia Base found her and spoke urgently, leading her toward where Basil Xavier was.

Seeing her, Basil Xavier quickly called out, "Co over and stay with ."

Before Stella Sterling could say anything, she heard another scream: "Iris Langley, watch out!"

She turned to look and saw a sharp object hurtling toward Lydia Magnus. Her boyfriend, Claire Xavier, quickly used his hand to block it for her, but Lydia Magnus still fell in the panic, her body sliding outward.

"Stella Sterling, where are you going?"

Basil Xavier watched Stella Sterling turn and leave. He called out anxiously, wanting to pull her back, but was stopped by the base mbers beside him.

Stella Sterling grabbed Lydia Magnus and pulled her to her feet.

At that mont, Claire Xavier also ran over quickly and sheltered Lydia Magnus by his side.

Lydia Magnus wanted to thank Stella Sterling, but after seeing Claire Xavier’s injured hand, she threw herself into his arms instead.

"You two be careful."

After saying this, Stella Sterling turned and walked away in another direction.

’We should be even now.’

’In her past life, at the beginning of the apocalypse, Lydia Magnus had helped her a great deal, even if she later betrayed her out of desperation.’

’But the kindness she showed her before was also real.’

’Now, considering the betrayal in her past life and the multiple tis she’d saved her in this one, she and Lydia Magnus were finally even.’

"Watch out, Stella!"

Just then, Lydia Magnus’s terrified scream rang out from behind her. Stella Sterling spun around and kicked away the man who was stabbing at her with a knife.

"Are you sick in the head? Trying to kill soone at a ti like this."

Staring at the person who had attacked her for no reason, Stella Sterling was genuinely bewildered.

’I don’t even know him. Everyone’s struggling to survive, yet instead of trying to save his own skin, he launches a sneak attack to kill . What kind of psycho is he?’

The man didn’t say a word. Since he had failed to kill Stella Sterling, he scrambled to his feet and tried to run.

But just then, sothing smashed him in the head, and in the next mont, his body was lifted into the air.

Stella Sterling hoisted him up. The man’s knife was now in her hand, seemingly out of nowhere. Without hesitation, she plunged it into his body, finishing him.

She pulled the knife out, and fresh blood pooled on the floor. She tossed his corpse to the ground like a piece of trash, the tallic scent of blood drifting to everyone’s nostrils.

Before anyone could react, another massive wave crashed down, nearly capsizing the entire boat. The crowd, which had just cald down, scread in terror once again.

At this perilous mont, Stella Sterling flashed into her space.

She appeared inside the space, her expression grim and uncertain.

The crisis had unfolded too quickly. A giant wave had suddenly struck, subrging the entire hull.

At the critical mont, she couldn’t worry about anything else and had fled directly into her space.

But even so, in that final instant, the crashing spray had soaked her to the bone.

She took off her isolation suit and helt. Compared to the raging winds and monstrous waves outside, the space was a scene of harmony, like a paradise—a completely different world.

She sat on the ground for a good while before she finally cald down.

’Her thoughts turned to Basil Xavier and the others. After a wave like that, she didn’t know if they could have survived.’

’But in that situation, she could only save herself. It was impossible to bring others into her space.’

She sighed and looked outside.

Even though she was in the space, she could still perceive and see what was happening outside.

After the giant wave passed, many people on the boat had been swept into the water. But fortunately, the boat hadn’t capsized.

It had narrowly survived another disaster.

The people on board, however, were in a miserable, wretched state.

She looked for them and was relieved to find that Basil Xavier and the others were still on the boat.

After that massive wave, the surface of the water grew much calr.

But Stella Sterling didn’t rush to leave the space. Instead, she observed the situation for a while, took the opportunity to eat dinner, and replenished the energy she had just expended.

「Half an hour passed.」

The situation outside finally stabilized. The boat was floating steadily on the water. The captain from ridia Base was quite skilled; he had held firm at the critical mont, saving many lives in the process.

As for the others on the boat, so had collapsed, others had fainted. They were all soaked to the skin. Many were pinned beneath debris, and so had fallen into the water, washed away to who-knows-where.

The consequences of this sudden storm were tragic.

The faces of those who had survived the disaster and were still conscious were filled with dazed terror.

So were weeping softly...

One mber of the ridia Base team had also fallen into the water and was missing. The rest were in no better shape than the other passengers.

But at this mont, they weren’t resting. They were bustling about, busy patching leaks on the boat and rescuing the severely injured.

Seeing this, so people couldn’t just stand by. They pulled themselves together and joined the rescue effort.

"Stella Sterling! Stella Sterling!"

And at that mont, the few people who knew Stella Sterling were searching for her all over the boat.

When the big wave hit, everyone was struggling to save themselves. Now that things had stabilized, they realized they couldn’t find Stella Sterling anywhere.

Louis Grant, Basil Xavier, and Lydia Magnus were all searching the boat. Even the injured Claire Xavier was rummaging through corners.

Basil Xavier looked anxious. If sothing happened to Stella Sterling here, and that guy Gordon Ford found out, he would go absolutely insane.

The boat was so large and crowded, making the search difficult. But they didn’t give up, refusing to believe that Stella Sterling might have already perished.

Stella Sterling left her space, but she didn’t appear directly on the boat. Instead, she materialized in the water beside it.

The mont she appeared, she grabbed the side of the boat with one hand and vaulted herself aboard.

Her movents caught the attention of several ridia Base mbers. Seeing her, they cried out in surprise and delight, "Miss Sterling! Miss Sterling, is that you?"

Then they hurried over to her.

Their shouts also reached Basil Xavier and the others who were searching for her, and they all ca running in her direction.
